I don’t have incision pain but I feel really nauseous if I drink anything. But I haven’t thrown up yet. I just try to drink tiny amounts at a time. I have not met my liquid goal at all. But I am peeing. So my nurse said as long as my urine is yellow and not orange and I keep peering then I should be ok. My stomach is very swollen. It only hurts when I cough and when I get up and down from bed or chair etc. -

Yes when I got home and more relaxed I can hold baby. I’m so relieved. So admittance went by so fast and I actually waited from 1:30-6pm. They took me back to pre op private room. They asked my family to stay out until they got everything started IV,pee test, started IV fluids, signed some paperwork, put the decompression leg things that blow up and release. Then my family came in. And waited with me. We watched tv laughed etc. closer to surgery time my surgeon Dr Snyder came in and made sure I was feeling ok. I was so nervous and he reassured me multiple times. Then his assistant came in Calvillo. They work great together. He said Snyder told him I was nervous and they would take great care of me. There anesthesiologist are in and asked me sign multiple forms and made sure I didn’t want the surgery all natural( his way of joking it made me laugh) he explained each and every thing. He said he would give me my cocktail in the way to the OR and then once in the OR I wouldn’t remember anything after that. I remember getting the cocktail and saying it didn’t work. Then the next thing I remember is him putting oxygen on me. Then I woke up in my private room with family. I don’t recall recovery at all. -

Hi guys!!! I’m a little over 24 hours post op. This is my first surgery ever in my life. I went in really nervous woke up so fright and out of it that I regretted it because I couldn’t hold my crying baby. The pain was not in my incisions it was all over my body like I had gotten beat up. Drinking the 4 oz of water with one oz being protein. My hospital uses ensure protien max. They do NOT recommend the regular ensure. Only the low fat and carb protein max. I have to say it was rather tasty. And I don’t like protein drinks at all. The nausea patch behind your ear creates extreme dry mouth. I brushed my teeth often and it helped but didn’t go away. It’s starting to subside now. I had my surgery 01/14 at 6pm and was released home 01/15 at 3pm. So less than 24 hours. And I love being home!!!!! If anyone has any questions I would love to answer them? -

I have surgery tomorrow. I am scheduled for the afternoon. I wish it was for the morning. I am to report to surgery at 3pm. They said they may call me in early. I am packing tonight. Cleaning house again today. Washing sheets. Our 4 month old is also staying in the hospital with us so I am packing for him also. I have been on an all clear liquid diet for 48 hours and OMG it has cleaned me out!!! I also have a really bad headache tonight. We also got surprise guest that said they will be passing through either tonight or early morning :/ I don’t want to be rude but I hope they make there visit fast. I have kept my surgery private. So yea just a little nervous for surgery this is my first surgery and I just don’t know what to expect. Good luck everyone. I will try to update or answer any questions after surgery once I can wake up properly. -

So I got the 50+ multi vitamin ( even though I am only 29) it has B12 and also Biotin. I also got the protein called colleges peptide it is for bone health skin hair etc and has complete amino acids it has 18grams clean protein! I only use unflavored protein. I don’t like the extra carbs or the artificial sugar in the zero carb proteins. Hope this helps. I am super am scared of hair loan -

Completed my pre op yesterday Jan 8. They gave me the body cleanse, took blood, vitals, and went over everything for day of surgery (Jan 14). I also made my two week pre op appointment and receive the days for the 1 week post op nutrition class. I also got approved for my husband and son to stay in the hospital with me. I knew hubby could but was unsure of our son he’s only 14 weeks old. So now I have to pack for myself, hubby, and baby. For the hospital stay. We are all really excited. I am also slacking on shopping and prepping. So I will be a busy bee these next couple of days!!! -
Yayyy keep us updated!!!! Congratulations!!!!!

STAY ON UR SURGEONS DIETS But this is just what my surgeon told me. My surgeon is Dr. Snyder Denver Bariatric center of excellence. ( he is the head surgeon in the US is on the board for bariatric and other things he fixes all the complications and problems from other surgeons he has patients fly from all over even out of the US to see him. Some patients come from London New Zealand etc) BUT he told me that the size of ur liver has nothing to do with it. They thought that it did in the past but new studies show the complications that arose from “large livers” where actually surgeon error 😳 so his patients and the other surgeons that work along and with him in the Denver center do not require a liquid diet etc for weeks before hand to “shrink liver” He said it’s also a mental tool the surgeons can use on us. It’s test our will power ( which he also mentioned is a reason he does not do this. It causes us a lot of unneeded stress and anxiety while we r already preparing for such a huge change we do not need this stress) he said it’s cruel to have patients on such a long liquid diet. Because the patients think they HAVE to follow this strict liquid diet due to the size of their livers a medical need in reality it is not. He explained a whole lot about it to me. And it made me really sad PLEASE FOLLOW UR SURGEONS DIET. I am not saying to go off the diet. But try not to let it control u mentally because that’s what they r hoping for. And I am so sorry that you all have to go through this. 🥺 I have listed my requirements previously. But Here they r again if anyone is interested? I have to do a clear liquid diet for 48hours to clean out the stomach and intestines ( he explained this is for medical reasons) and nothing 8 hours before surgery. That is the only requirement. For all his patients. And we all have “livers” and I’m sure they are all abnormally large due to our weight -

O wow lol yes Cigna is a great insurance. And they will also allow revisions or any other needs that we need to continue to be at a healthy weight!! It such a blessing to have an insurance that actually cares!!! I have my pre op Jan 8 and my surgery Jan 14. I am so excited. I only have 48hours of clear liquids before surgery. Obviously I also have a 8 hour no food restriction prior to the actual surgery. It is getting so close. I am so excited for this new journey but I am also so scared for surgery. Thankfully I am at the top rated center of excellence in the US and my surgeon deals with all the mess ups lol 😂 people fly from all over to come see him. So that really puts me at ease. He also does a numbing injection at all injection sites so the lain is very minimal so we are able to walk a round to avoid blood clotting etc. -

I go in on the 14th and I have yet to prepare at all for this. I will probably go shopping soon. ☺️ I’m not sure about which soups etc to get. I only am on a liquid/cream diet for 5-6days depends on first appointment date. Then I’m on soft food. There is no purée stage. So that’s nice. And I heard the 5-6 days is mainly just trying to stay hydrated. -
I was wondering if anyone is in the Denver area or in Colorado? And if anyone is using Dr. Snyder as their surgeon?

Yayy! Omg Jan 2 is so far away. I am so excited to have the surgery. I have worked on losing a lot of weight myself from the 336 to the current 277. So I have pretty good self control saying no to food already. I am just so excited to be able to not feel like an empty pit. Cause when I limit my calories I feel just Terribly hungry all the time. Let me know how ur recovery goes and how u feel. -
Denver Batiatric? Dr. Snyder?
sarahSingh91 replied to sarahSingh91's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think why I am so nervous is because this is an elective surgery not a really “medical” need to “save” my life? I say that loosely because it is saving my life but not in the emergency sense? If that makes any sense. Lol.
