Did you gain weight on purpose?
myfunlife32 replied to cobrien78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I have to say is I was willing to do anything and did - corrected my weight, changed hospitals. I'm just waiting for my insurance approval - they finally submitted today. We got pre-approval a month ago so they "say" its going to be quick. I'm with the other posters - worry about your health. Its not like you weigh under 200lbs and you're trying to cheat your way into the surgery. Keep us posted. -
Who's Getting Banded in July?
myfunlife32 replied to SanDiegoSusan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just wanted to post an update. I will have part 2 of the psych eval on Wed July 2 (interview). My PCP will have all of my paperwork ready for me tomorrow morning also - more info was needed and he was slow getting - didn't matter since I knew the psych eval wouldn't be done until Wed. Either way we are still looking at a July date. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on when. Wish me luck! I'll keep everyone posted. -
This was so funny...thanks for the warning!

Lifting a baby post-op

Triplet mom here! I am glad to hear the responses as I will be getting my surgery in July! Thanks ladies! -
Welcome to LBT...I'm pretty new here too. I am working on myself for my children too. It will be nice for you when you can forget about your weight and just focus on your boys, I know. Before you know it...we'll be banded! :biggrin2:

2.5 months since pre-op diet with 65lbs gone!
myfunlife32 replied to Eat2Live's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Eat2Live...I can't tell you how much hearing this from you means to me. Although I haven't stopped the process I have questioned what I was doing. It's been 14+ years of believing I could do this on my own and haven't yet. I am so excited to get the surgery and change my life. I just said to my husband last night - it's probably going to feel weird to be so much lighter on my feet! Thanks again...can't wait to hear of your continued success. BTW...what is your diet like? (what/portions)....if you dont mind me asking. -
Who's Getting Banded in July?
myfunlife32 replied to SanDiegoSusan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey ladies...I will be in July also. I just got my pre-approval from insurance on Friday. I will be completing my psych eval within a week and submission of paperwork will be next week. I'm praying for a quick approval as promised. I was told on Friday that my surgery will be scheduled for July. I will let you know as soon as I have my date. I noticed in other people's sig their highest weight...guess I'll add my big ole 265! Geez! I started my new way of eating plan on saturday - no fast food or pop - 2 of my biggest addictions! I just felt like crap. I will get on the treadmill for 15 min 5X a week until my surgery - not too much to ask of myself. Anyone take before pics yet? I want to do that tonight actually. Uggg... -
I really feel so much better about this now after reading everyones responses. I figured I would do as I have done with previous surgeries and tell them how nauseous I get and they would give me something. I hate the groggy feeling but at least I know that I will be sleeping there overnight and not here with the crazy babies! LOL! I was really worried post op mostly - so thanks again!

I am really worried about the nausea factor with the band since I am quite a nauseous person to begin with. Certain smells make me nauseous and I even gag. I was just wondering if anyone experiences it a lot, a little, etc. Thanks for the help guys!

Anyone doubt your decision...
myfunlife32 replied to myfunlife32's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went back to my PCP to take the paperwork and talk more with him today. He nearly kicked my butt for doubting this. He reminded me of what I already knew. I'm not turning back! I will get my phone calls for the psych eval and to schedule the UGI and other pre-surgery testing...then wait for insurance. I was told that it should be fast since my doc is on board and once all the info is and insurance approves my surgery date will be 2 weeks from then. I'm so excited. I went to get a pedicure today and was looking through the magazines - I'm so excited to wear cute shoes and a dress while feeling like I look great! Thanks for the reassurance! -
Today I had my consultation with the surgeon today. Things went well. He was telling me about both RNY and the lapband. He told me about everything it seemed. I really like him and totally trusted him. I have no idea how I can feel like I do after it though. I am so annoyed with myself that I've kept this weight on and now have to resort to surgery for help. I almost tried to talk myself into believing again that I could do it on my own. I've proven for the past 14 years that I CANT!!! I'm going through the process and will not stop this time. Just wondered if anyone else did this too?

Mother of triplets...started my process.
myfunlife32 replied to myfunlife32's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks so much for the advise ladies...I appreciate it so much. I will have help with the babies obviously but I was just wondering how I would feel. And as far as the insurance requirements...lucky for me I've already done my homework - I have full coverage and I've been on a medically supervised diet since Dec 07 so I'm ready to go. Hoping for an even semi-smooth process. I'll keep everyone posted.
