I had RNY July 1st 2020 and by the first of September i was completely closed up. They did another surgery on 09/21/2020 to open it back up. I went in on 10/19/2020 for an endoscopy and they found out I am closing up again. I feel your pain this sucks. I don't know what they are going to do now. My opening from my stomach to my intestines is less that 3mm and they doc said it should be at least 30mm.

I had my RNY on 07/01/2020. Everything was going well until the first of September when I started having issues keeping food down. My doctor did a endoscopy on 09/14/2020 and found that the opening from my stomach to my intestines had closed up. I ended up in the hospital for 10 days and they redid my surgery on 09/21/2020. I went in yesterday 10/19/2020 for another endoscopy and they found that the opening went from 30mm down to 3mm and they had to use a balloon type thing to try to reopen the hole. I have to go back this Friday 10/23/2020 for another endoscopy so they can try an open the hole even bigger. Has anyone ever had this type of complication?

My doctor thinks I have some type of connective tissue disorder because of the amount of scar tissue. He said the dilations could be weekly until it stays open. I have been doing everything they have asked when it comes to the diet stage. They have me back on shakes until they get it back out to the 30mm that he wants it at. I just hope they don't have to do another surgery. Thanks for your response. :-)

The time has come and tomorrow is the big day. I’m not gonna lie I am nervous. I am not so much worried about the procedure as I am about the pain after. I am also having a hiatal hernia repairs at the same time.

I am now about 3 weeks post op and feeling great. The pain right after surgery was not bad at all. I am down about 22 lbs and feeling good.

RNY4ME2020 replied to DwGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I started the process 01/02/2020 and should have had my bypass on 04/07/2020. Because of Corona its been moved to 06/30 -
Its been a LONG process but I have my date. I will be joining the looser bench on June 30th. I have had mixed emotions after getting my date. I keep asking myself I am making a good decision. Did anyone else feel this way?

How much would YOU pay???
RNY4ME2020 replied to AlwaysCruising's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am fully aware of the delays people are having. I should have had my surgery April 7th. It of course was canceled. I started this process in December 2019 I probably wont have it till June or July now. But you know what that is OK I have the patience to wait. I feel that this waiting is giving me an opportunity to better prepare myself for this life changing event that is getting ready to take place. I am not sure why you keep bringing up maturity, negativity, and drama. If you cant handle a persons response then do not post anything asking questions. -

You said "I have found myself wondering how much people would be willing pay to just get these done faster with less hassle" To me that says you have a lack of patience. I never said it was invalid or a wrong choice. I am not being negative I am just being honest. -

with my doctor making you wait 3 months there is plenty of time to complete all steps with insurance. I just don't understand why anyone would pay for something out of pocket if insurance will cover it. This is a process and people need to have patience. -

RNY4ME2020 replied to AlwaysCruising's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would not pay because my insurance is covering my procedure. I feel that taking all the steps required by my insurance and my doctor is setting me up for success. My doctor even for cash patients still require 3 visits to make sure you are ready for this life changing surgery. We did not put this weight on overnight we cant expect a solution overnight either. -
If you go to a good person who does waxing they should not have an issue. They will hold the skin tight when they remove the wax.

No... I was just making a general statement because a lot of people seem to be. -

I am washing my hands like normal. That's it no need to panic. -
UGH the hospital just called to schedule my surgery date and it seems that the doctors office submitted the incorrect information. They did a pre-authorization for the sleeve instead of bypass. They are hoping that they can just update the coding and not have to resubmit everything again. Has anyone had this happen?
-
I went to the doctor today for my final visit. I was surprised when they told me that they had already submitted to insurance and I have been approved. I should be on the losers bench around the first part of April. 😀😀😀😀😁😁😁😁

Outpatient or hospital stay ? American Surgey Ctr.
RNY4ME2020 replied to themonk4u's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I really think it depends on the doctor. My doctor told me to plan on 2 nights at the hospital but I am also have a hernia repaired at the same time that they do the RNY. -
That's awesome you looking like a completely different person. 😁
-
Mine is going to be about 3-4 months. My insurance does not require any preop diet but my doctors office requires 3 months. I am glad they required it because there is NO way I would be ready for this if it was not for all of the appointments.

Health First New Fit in Viera/Melbourne FL has decent self pay rates. They have three doctors that are all rated very highly.
