The gym person who is helping me said to eat more protein to feel less sluggish. So maybe do a protein drink or two and some soft fish, if you’re allowed? I like the tuna creations packets.

I finally found success with the fair life chocolate protein drinks. They sell them at Walmart. They taste like chocolate milk and I could get them down. Good luck.

Favorite protein shake

When you say pod, do you mean a scoop, a pill, or what? If I could take my protein in a pill form, I’d totally do that. -
2 Weeks Post-Op - Depressed, Discouraged

Talk to your team about it. It might help with the endo and fibroids. Also, talk to your OB too. I don’t think I’ve been overly emotional yet, but I’ve had very active dreams, which I was told was another side effect of the hormones release. And it’s only temporary, so don’t let it deter you. We’ve got this!! -

I posted my pic in the December sleeves, but I thought I’d follow up with my own post. Here’s a pic showing 6 days out and 16 days out. I’m happy I can start seeing a difference. I’m still struggling with things, mostly my fluid intake, but I’m trying. I’m hovering around a 22 pound loss. -
2 Weeks Post-Op - Depressed, Discouraged
Jenny867 replied to clairegabr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
22 pounds in two weeks is awesome! Make sure that you are getting enough calories... talk to your doctor about that since not getting enough can stall weight loss. Also, when we (ladies) lose a lot of weight, especially quickly, our bodies release estrogen which was stored in our fat. That can make us have PMS type symptoms for a while. Lastly, try taking some vitamin D. That may help perk up your mood. It does wonders for me. You’ve come so far, be proud of yourself! You’ll get to where you want to be as long as you keep making progress, even if it’s in baby steps. ❤️ -
Take pictures!! The left is 6 days post op, the right is 16 days post op. I didn’t notice a difference until I compared the pics.

Good luck! And see ya on the other side. 🙂

My anesthesiologist gave me something for the anxiety. I didn’t care by the time I hit the OR doors. It’s going to go great! I’m a little over 2 weeks post op and I don’t regret it.

Check with your doctor about biotin supplements. There is a sublingual sold by vitamin cottage which tastes decent. Hair loss is usually inevitable due to the trauma that surgery is for our bodies. If I remember correctly, it starts about 2-3 months after surgery and then starts growing back 5-6 months after that. Just hang in there. 🙂

12/2/19 was my sleeve surgery date
Jenny867 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello, I’m Jenny. I’m 38 years old, married to a wonderful and supportive guy, and a mother to two great kids. I had the sleeve done on Monday December 2nd with one overnight hospital stay. I went home on oxygen for when I’m at rest because of the elevation/altitude of where I live, which is near Denver. I’m 5’5” and was 295 pre-op. My goal is to lose 100 pounds and go from there. I have told very few people about my surgery because I don’t want to hear about how I took the easy way out. Nothing else I’ve tried has worked to lose weight and keep it off. This is my second day post-op, and I am very sore. I’m trying to get my fluid intake up and in a good spot, but it’s been hard. My stomach feels like I’ve been kicked a few times and it looks that way in spots where I’ve bruised. I don’t want to discourage anyone from getting their surgery done... I just wanted to write out how I’m doing so far. I hear it gets easier on the 3rd day. -
I had a sleeve done on Monday 12/2. I’m home and sore, trying to not overdo things. Did anyone else have to come home with oxygen? I have to wear it while at rest, whether at home or in the car. I was told that 80% of people in my area (Denver) go home on oxygen due to the altitude. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great surgery with a quick recovery.
