    Poll: NHS or Private

Hi all! This question is for people that had their lapband done on the NHS especially if it was done in london. 1. How long did you have to wait from the inititial referral from your gp to see the consultant. 2. How long did you have to wait from seeing the consultant to getting the operation. 3. Did you have to do a six month supervised diet thing, or be told to loose weight before they operated> Thanks
  6. Hey Girl!

Ladies and Gentlemen - we've got Band.

Congrats on getting banded hun, i would say try and take it easy after you have had the op. You have still had surgery even thought it may of benn done through keyhole...surgery is surgery. Try and get back into your routine slowly. Glad you are feeling much better!!

    Would you get breast implant.....??

I think its really good the way they do the procedure, and with no scars on the actual breasts! excellent, how much more does the procedure cost to be done like this? does it take longer than if they were to insert them through an incision on the breast? Is there an actual name for the way that it is done?

    Would you get breast implant.....??

Thats a great attitude to have, after all its your body! You worked hard to get where you are, and as long as you are happy, nobody else matters! I also like the idea of the procedure being done through the armpits so there is no scaring, i take it they have to be filled through a port of somesort? Prob a stupid question, but do they leave behind the port in your armpit??

    Waxing ...

Thats not bad at all, i just hope the waiting time is the same in london, the doc actually referred me to three hospitals, so hopefully i should hear back sooner rather than later. the consultation seems pretty straight forward, did they ask you to loose any weight before surgery...? Anyways im gonna send you a PM im hijacking the waxing thread for myself lol lol

    Waxing ...

Hey! I didnt know that you could pick the hospital!! Thats really good! I really do hope that the appointment with the consultant comes through before sept, i think 4 months is more than enough time to wait to for an appointment letter. Fingers crossed the appointment comes through before sept, if the waiting list is under a yr, i will wait. what kinda things do they ask you at the surgical evaluation? and how long did you have to wait for teh initial referral from your doc to get an appointment? Waxing ...

My situation is a little complicated...i am trying to get it done on the nhs, and am waiting for a date to see the consultant (after my doc reluctanly referred me, literally had to fight for it:but thats a whole other story!), in talking to other people who have had it done on the nhs, i could be put on a waiting list for up to three years!! So in the meantime while im waiting for the nhsappointment, ive seen a private consultant and have booked the op for sept 1st. So between now and then if i see the nhs consultant and he gives me good news and the waiting list isnt so bad i will cancel the private op. Im just praying that the list isnt that long!! but either way im getting it done, hopefully sooner rather than later  Did you self pay or nhs? How you feeling?....next week will be here in no time!!
