What Pain Medications Are Prescribed
BecomingAnna posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello All, my surgery is scheduled for 01/28 and im nervous about the pain being that my tolerance for pain is very low and pain medicine don’t really work well unless its a strong medicine or i take more than recommend(which i think is due to my size). I’ve had my gallbladder removed and that pain was almost unbearable so the thought that this surgery could possibly be more painful scares me. What pain meds were you sent home with? How long were you in pain? I dont want to be bed ridden for more than a week due to pain I want to be able to be almost back to normal within 2-3 weeks.- 16 replies

I was scheduled for January 28th FMLA and Short Term disablilty at work all set, I found out I was approved today, paid off the rest of my balance I needed to pay before surgery which was $800 and the rest I can pay off after surgery. Hello all, im so anxious My surgery date Is 01/28 and its approaching pretty fast but im So Ready that i keep coming on here reading people experiences, screenshotting any helpful info, and reading almost all the forums. My Surgeon has suggested a 1 week liver shrinking low cal, low carb diet but im going to do 2 weeks being that yes I cheated and ate things that i know i will not eat ever again after surgery and had a couple last meals. So over the last month and a half I’ve gained 10lbs back so i have to work those lbs back off before surgery. Im very determined in fact from September 26th-dec 2nd I lost 37lbs So im not worrying about losing the 10lbs Before Surgery. JUST HAVE TO KEEP MY EYES ON THE PRIZE.

Hello All, This has been a long streesful road but it’s almost over. I had a few insurance issues but thats over. I previously had a high deductible plan with Blue Care network Michigan to be exact $6700 and starting jan would go up to $6850 and my surgery is planned for Jan 28th and there is no way i would be able to meet my deductible by my surgery date meaning I would have to come out of pocket half of my deductible up front to the surgeon and who knows what else. Well since its open enrollment i chose another plan with a lower deductible of $600 only difference is i have A Coinsurance of 50% and before I had No Coinsurance. Other than that everything is great all my preop test are finish and now i just have to keep my weight down and prepare which I am OVER READY. Im anxious and ready for a Paid month off work thanks to STD and Hospital indemnity insurance. Im counting Down the days 👏🏽

I will be So happy when all of this is over my Anxiety is so bad i am switching Insurance Jan 1st from BCN MI to Meridian so my deductible Can be Lower because right now Its $6700 and Going Up next year to $6850 Which Is Ridiculous So i Am switching. My surgery date is jan 28th and only thing I have Left to do is Keep my weight down and submit for Approval. Im Waiting on the surgeon office to call me tomorrow to tell me if i will have to start anything over when i switch insurance or will all my preop test and weight loss be good with the new insurance. All the requirements Are the same For Meridian except wit BCN if your BMI is High they waive the weight loss program, for Meridian you have to be on a 6month consecutive weight management program which I was on anyways and still on to get my weight down a little before surgery or alot. The office said my last 6months of weightloss should work with this Insurance i just pray thats the case Im going to throw in the towel im tired of jumping through all these loops its stressful

Please Help (Insurance Question)
BecomingAnna posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all, I have ran into a issue and need some advice. I have done all my pre op testing, surgery date is jan 28th 2020, Deductible and OOP is almost met I have $900 left but that all resets January 1st Which will leave me scrambling to get my Deductible paid up in just a couple weeks which is $6700 yes i have a very high deductible. I am waiting on the dr. Office to call me back so i can figure out if i can have the surgery before jan. 1st. What can i do to get my deductible paid up fast? Can i go to the hospital and get xrays? I will be covered in full after my deductible is met I dont wanna push my surgery date Out for a few reason and if i can get it before the 1st that would be awesome. -

Please Help (Insurance Question)
BecomingAnna replied to BecomingAnna's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone, I Have A Update So I Cant Have The Surgery before The New year but what i am going to Do is Change My Insurance from Blue Care Network to meridian has Anyone Ever changed Insurance In The Middle Of Their process. I Checked the Requirements And they are the same As BCN except i have To be on a Supervised diet for 6months which ive been on one for a year so no Worries with that its Better for Me To Change My insurance And keep my surgery date For janurary Because with The New insurance After My $1425 deductible Is Met everything is Paid 100% in full and No Co insurance. So the beginning Of the month i have a dr.appt and im gonna Have a MRI and A couple Other things to eat Up That deductible. -
Hello All, The office submitted for surgery yesterday and I just wanted to know with Blue care network of Michigan (***) how lond does it usually take? My Surgery date is January 28th, 2020. Anyone has any experience with BCN. I meet all the criterias and have had all the testing done. Now im just waiting on insurance approval and the day to come. Im very anxious and ready. This Has been a long road and I have lost 65lbs this year and hoping to lose 20 more lbs before surgery to help with the process. Also, i have $1034 left in my deductible and out of pocket for it to be paid fully they both was $6500 how does that work will i have to pay anything? So far i have paid about $600 in the visits with the surgeon and all the testing.
