mominflorida started following Thank Heaven for Potato Soup, It's been a Minute..., Do you have gas more since lapband? and and 7 others

I have been banded since 8/08 and it seems like there are times I can eat things easily and times I get stuck or have pain. I can't explain it and maybe the reason is time of the month? For example, had hot dog last night with pain and other times it goes down fine. I have been thinking it is due to my chewing or speed of eating, but I am not sure. Love to hear from people who have had the band a while.

I love the Wii fit. The step is great and the hula hoop. I just unlocked the boxing (punching bag) game and I love it. I was so sore after doing it for about 10 minutes. I only get to use it on the weekends and it is in addition to my running 5 days per week. I think it is a great addition to a workout routine.

Do you have gas more since lapband?
mominflorida replied to health4life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have so much gas when eating and after it is gross! My husband noticed after banding and I was in denial at first, but now I know the band has produced more gas. Sometimes I have to get up from the table in order to go to the bathroom to pass it. It sucks, but it is better than being overweight. I haven't tried anything to help it, but I assume gas X or tums would help. -
I will let you know when I get the equipment. Thanks!

Can I join too? My email address is swalsh24@bellsouth.net. I am now up to running 3.2 miles at a time. Is this enough?

Got up early this morning to run (6:00am) and while I headed out the door I realized my ipod was not synced! No music at all. Went back inside to try to figure out what was wrong (can't run without tunes) and took me 20 minutes before I fixed the problem. Only ran 30 minutes, but did this without stopping! This is the longest I have run without a 2 minute break. I think I will keep this up.

B: Protein shake L: salad with turkey, cheese and avacado, light ranch. 1 ounce sun chips D: 1/2 large Wendy's chilli, 1/2 baked potato, 1ounce cheese l ight sour cream. I decided to try to post daily to stay honest. I have been snacking over the holidays and eating too much. I am 43 lbs down since August, running a lot which is helping. -
Kathybad, Thanks for the info. I will check it out!

Hi Everyone, I have not written in a while, but have been running like crazy! I am up to running 15 minutes, walk 2, run 15 minutes, walk 2 and run 10 minutes! Some days are harder than others, but I am sticking with this for a while. I owe it all to you guys for challenging me! Ok, what is Nike +?

Hi All, I started training this weekend, running 1 minute and walking 1.5 minuties for 30 minutes and I love it! The breaks are just what I need and the focus on the clock makes the time go fast. Also, getting out the door for a half hour workout is somehow mentally better than saying "I am going walking for an hour." I was actually moving for more like 35-40 minutes and I thinkt he distance was a little over 2 miles. I just wonder if I will ever get fast enough to go 5K in 30 min?? I guess we will see. I set up a training routine that is 4 days a week (Sat, Sun, Tues and Thursday). I am a busy mom who also works full time out of the home and this is all I can commit to for now. Thanks for the support and good luck to all.

You guys are an inspiration! I printed the couch to 5 K and plan to start this weekend and join you. I have been knowing I need to start my exercise regiem and have been putting it off. Now I have friends to do it with and support. How Wonderful!

I struggle with this alot too. I try to remind myself while I am eating that I need to stop when I feel full. I will say "are you full?" Most of the time the HONEST answer is "yes, but I like the taste and want to continue eating!" Then I will tell myself that there will be another meal, more food later and stop eating. For example, i just got done eating a delicious salad with grilled chicken and feta cheese (my favorite) and I decided to eat half of it for lunch and half for dinner tonight. This way I can stop when I am full and not miss out on my yummy tasting meal. Keep up the good work. This is a lifestyle change and we are all learning together.

I won't miss: The "four boob syndrome." People saying "you have such a pretty face." Having to struggle up the stairs. Worrying about being the heaviest in the room. Feeling unhealthy and self conscience all the time. Buying way too many shoes and handbags because they always look good! Can't wait to: Look awsome in a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt (with a cute belt)!

Is this normal??
mominflorida replied to healthysue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The same thing is happening to me. I feel as if I can eat most anything and a lot of it. However what is helping is to avoid carbs and concentrate on protein. I feel fuller longer and can only eat so much. I have lost 9 lbs and was banded on 8/20. I have my first fill on 9/15 and can't wait for more restriction!
