Our insurance switched to Aetna on 9-1-20 as well. My paperwork was submitted today so I'm hoping to have as quick of an approval! Congratulations & Best of Luck!!

What all would prevent you from getting approved?
ksgypsy replied to Biggerthanu's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm just above the 40BMI and was concerned about this as well. My Patient Coordinator said the same as California Guy. My first appointment with my Surgeon was after my 6-months of documented loss with my PCP. Just to ensure it wouldn't be an issue- I've stayed at the same BMI; as soon as I'm approved, I will lose all I can to shrink my liver to have the best opportunity for a smooth surgery. Best of luck to you!! -
Preop weight loss-too much?
ksgypsy replied to blackcatsandbaddecisions's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked this question of the Patient Coordinator and was told that the insurance goes by the weight of my first Surgeon appointment. Of course you may have different requirements... Your Patient Coordinator may be able to advise you. I believe my 'packet' will be submitted to my insurance (Aetna) next week. To be certain, I ensured that I didn't go below at any point in the process. Started the process in Nov '19. Best of luck to you!! -

FYI- I ordered the Unjury sample pack today (rtd- 1 each of chocolate & vanilla) and they are have a BOGO offer. It may just apply to the sample pack. -
Unable to add stats under “My Surgery”
ksgypsy replied to Meadow76's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I have the same issue. I see the fields under 'My Surgery' but not able to edit or add information. Looked in every category and don't see 'Ticker' either. Following to see new suggestions to try. -

ksgypsy replied to tahoegirl96118's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm the same age and happy to read these responses! I'm hoping for a Sept/Oct surgery and it's good to know that age is mostly just a number! -
Daily Migraines 2 Years Post Op
ksgypsy replied to PepperCat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to be careful with my words but posting on social media is taking a chance that I may unintentionally upset someone & I apologize for that. It obviously wasn't my intention. But I did learn and I appreciate your explanation of TN. I had not heard of it before. It sounds horrendous beyond words. I have had many migraines lasting months as well as cluster migraines that made me question the quality of life. I can't begin to imagine your pain. -
Daily Migraines 2 Years Post Op
ksgypsy replied to PepperCat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NovaLuna- Many years ago my trigeminal nerve was removed in an effort to relieve my migraines. The beneficial effect lasted less than a year but others had better success at the time. It was experimental- a Plastic Surgeon had discovered a significant percentage of his patients having forehead lifts who also had migraines reported no longer having migraines. Lost count of how many meds I've tried- like most with chronic migraines. Now on Topamax- 200mg daily & monthly Emgality injections. -
Getting started here in KS and have Anthem BC/BS-CA. Current BMI is 44- no co morbities. My question is- if during the Doctor monitored diet & exercise 6 month period, my weight dips under the qualifying 40 BMT; is it possible that I'll become disqualified? Just wondering... Thanks in advance for any input!

Thank you all for your advice- I appreciate your responses! I will check with my insurance. I definitely don't want to jeopardize having the surgery but if I can lose some prior without being penalized; that would be beneficial as well. Kimberly3- I'm thinking neither losing nor gaining would be most difficult...
