I am feeling much better! Thank You!!😊
-
You will be great. You're prepared & ready to GO!!! I believe it would be most unusual to not be at least a little nervous!🤗🙏

Was your surgery today? How are you feeling!
-
Much better now. I misspoke @ a port. It was my drain. It's a Rose (something) drain. It was crazy how much came out- glad Hubs insisted on bringing me in rather than tough it out.😺
-
I misspoke- pain killers brain...It's the drain that was leaking.

Well shoot! Home one day & back in hospital 3:30 this morning. My port was bleeding heavily & we couldn't stop it. Nurses & a Dr. said it happens infrequently. What fun! Hope to be out tomorrow. Hopefully won't start again!

Good to have the Covid test over isn't it! So excited for you!! Prayers for a smooth surgery and quick recovery!! Keep us Posted! 🤗

Glad you're doing relatively well! Like you, I'm doing better than I thought I might. No vomiting and I'm guessing the pain in my abdomen is gas, although I was told gas often settles around the shoulders. Trying to walk, walk, walk. I was the one bugging Nurses & Aides to walk. 😁 The staff was great and there were 3 fabulous Nursing students who helped me immensely.

That's how my stomach felt too! I had my bypass on the 4th as well. How are you doing?

I had my rny on the 4th. How are you doing?
-
Doing pretty good- thanks for asking! Rough afternoon on the 4th but woke up at 4am on the 5th feeling a lot better. Still really sore but that's to be expected. Most difficult? No water until Thursday afternoon!!! So, so happy the surgery is in the rear view mirror!!
-
That's good to hear! I like water too. Hopefully that will go away- especially considering how much of it we have to drink! I'm up to bat tomorrow!
-
I haven't had surgery yet but will say that my Surgeon told me it would hurt until it's out in one week. Hope it gets better soon!
-
Best wishes for your surgery!!

I'm Hungry are You?
ksgypsy replied to 1000islandgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Right?!! My saving grace has been Unjury Chicken Soup. Love it! I tried Swanson's Chicken Broth and about lost my cookies with 1 sip. Chucked the rest... I like ProteinH20 water but, like you am So over sweets..., especially shakes. Looking forward to seeing how it goes for you! Sending back Super Positive Thoughts to You! -
Thank you so much! I am hoping that you have insurance approval Very Soon! I look forward to hearing when it happens!!

I'm Hungry are You?
ksgypsy replied to 1000islandgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good to hear the hunger got better for you! I'm also on Day 5 and still hungry but towing the line! Someone on this forum commented to another person who was struggling that 'we all went through it and you can too!' I keep that encouragement in mind. I have chronic migraines and have had one since Day 1. Fortunately I had already given up my much loved Coke Zero and gotten through that or it may be worse. I'm so grateful that I only have 10 days to get through !! My surgery is November 4th so almost there!😃 Wishing you much success! -
Healthier, But Lonelier
ksgypsy replied to kc892020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have any sage words of advice and am not having my surgery until next week. I just want to say Congratulations! for making the decision to have surgery and significantly improve your health!!! I haven't experienced any negativity yet- just some concern and hopefully, it will stay that way. I hope that you are Proud of yourself and your success! No one else lives in our bodies and faces the consequences- positive or negative- of our decisions. I wish you happiness and continued success! -
I started the process in November '19 and completed my requirements at the end of August. I had 6-months of documented appointments with my PCP as well as 3 with Nutritionist, 2 with YMCA exercise program and 3 with Psych. Unfortunately, our insurance switched on 9-1 (after I had completed all appointments) and there was a couple of weeks delay until they turned it in for approval. Once I received approval, the Surgeon's office called to schedule the pre-surgery appointment. That was held last Thursday. Friday they called with my date. Looonnngg process but my date is Nov. 4th!
-
I didn't get mine until I finished all required appointments and insurance was approved. After that, I returned to the Surgeon's office and they called the day after with my surgery date. You'll find a lot of variation on this topic. Good luck!

On Thursday October 22nd, had 2nd Surgeon appointment. The next day the Surgeon's Nurse called with the date of November 4th for my rny! He typically requires 2-weeks liquid diet but said to start Monday when I'm back from camping. Surprised but very excited it's happening so soon! Started my process on November 15th, 2019. Wishing much success to all!!! 😺

😃Took Aetna less than 2 weeks to approve my bypass! Appointment with Surgeon next Thursday. Hope I get a surgery date on that day!

Psych Test -did u have to take one?
ksgypsy replied to danahall5885's topic in Insurance & Financing
I too had to take the MMPI and another with T/F questions. About 700 total questions. Only took about an hour. I didn't think it could show me anything I didn't already know about myself but I was surprised by some of the results. One thing the Psychiatrist cautioned me one was that I have a tendency to not let others know when I'm hurt, troubled... He said it may manifest itself like not asking for pain meds when needed and cautioned me to be honest about pain or how I'm feeling after surgery. Nailed that- I do that with my chronic migraines. You may find there are things you find useful. I had 2 required additional appointment and found them beneficial as well.
