Things People Pass Off For Compliments and Things Skinny People Say That Piss You Off

Away from home: Here's how you should have replied... "Wow, you do know you're an asshole right? I mean I just care about you, I thought you should know, you really are an f-ing loser." I'm so sorry he took advantage of you. You deserve a lot better. Everyone does. -
I'm so depressed, I think this was the worst mistake ever.
blackcherry2002 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
nah I'm still stuck at 228lbs....And this last month it's been going so slow. This might be due to my throid meds and the fact that I've had some pretty severe constipation problems...(got some fiber supplements thank good) but hey atleast that proves to my doc that I'm eating what I should..I've been avoiding breads at all costs and I'm still just stalled...it's getting annoying:( -
Ok so just on here to rant. So halloween....obviously just an excuse for girls to dress like sluts...and if you aren't dressed like a slut, everyone at a party will ignore you. Not that the party was that great to begin with...just drunk college students rubbing up on each other, some girl fighting with her b/f(of course), and a bunch of ditzy girls. Thus I have realized why I don't enjoy hanging out with other females, mainly females that are my age. Oh and trying to find a costume...ha! Ok so I'm at like 228 now, that's almost 40 lbs lost yay! I'm starting to fit into my old clothes that are non-plus...well junior plus maybe lol. Anyway I go to a halloween store and I go look at their plus size section. I go to try it on and the girl thats going to fetch it asks what size do I want...S-XL and I"m like "Oh I wanted the plus size one" she replies "The XL is the plus size" HAHAHAHAHA!!! yeah I looked at it and knew it wasn't going to fit but tried it on anyway...Well I could zip it under my boobs but they were hanging out, and it was a shirt!!! It didn't even go to my hips. So their "plus size" probably wouldn't fit anyone over a size 8 or 10(fit and not be showing any privates lol) I wanted to go over to the costume wall and start crossing out everytime I saw the words plus size....ridiculous!!!

Ok so I have a few questions about tricare. They aren't completely for the surgery. I have a set of claims that were actually one day of bloodtests for my hypothyroidism...they were denied because 136 - SERVICES DENIED BECAUSE WE CANNOT DETERMINE PRIMARY INSURANCE PAYMENT. PLEASE PROVIDE EXPIRATION DATE OR COMPLETE PAYMENT INFORMATION. I also had a bill from a visit with my doc for the same reason. Then I have a few claims from my surgery that originally came up as paid..they are now listed as RETURNED. Can anyone make any sense from this?

well I have dry skin, severe anxiety, and an "unsure" diagnosed mood disorder without the thyroid problem...lol but yeah I know I def. need to take them on time more but it's been a crazy last month or so... -
TriCare help? Total confusion.
blackcherry2002 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in Insurance & Financing
not even close. I've been on tricare for all of my 19 years...no gaps in between so...who knows. All the ones that said they were denied, but then a week later say they were paid. Though I think I might have paid the full amount before they ran it through again so I'm wondering if the clinic doesn't have some money they need to give me. The returned ones however don't give a reason, just that they weren't able to be processed. And they were listed as paid, now they turned to returned.... -

that makes sense....I haven't been the best about taking my thyroid meds, and I'm currently on my period so my weight loss has halted if not gone up by 3 lbs. I actually appreciate your reply though. When your meds get adjusted as you lose weight does your dose typically go down? I just had mine checked not to long ago though and I'm at 75 mcg of levothyroxine... -

Well I asked my doctor just to test me to make sure and he said that I was probably ok and ignored me....I love being 19:D Nothing you say is of any importance... -
K so, yesterday I thought I piggggged out. I had an egg for breakfast, then half a grilled chicken breast (with a tbsp. of ranch for lunch), a serving(?) of cheddar popcorn, for dinner I went to this country kitchen place because it's that time of the month and I'm craving home cooking like crazy...I had 3 mini corndog bites...about the size of a silver dollar from my b/f's plate. few bites of mashed potatoe, and about 4 small bites of country fried steak. Then we went to TCBY and I got a pint of ice cream and ate a lot of it but I'm proud to say I had the will to stop and put it away. Anyway this is a LOT more than I usually eat(thanks cravings!) but I was certain I was going to gain weight and I ended up dropping a pound after not seeing the scale move in a few days....go figure...

this one is a bit disappointing but...And it's funny because I've only been like really obese for a year but wow...can I tell the difference when losing weight... People are looking me in the eye. They will look at me when I walk into a room instead of trying their hardest to avoid me. They will actually talk to me more. So sad...but true.

Who can still eat whatever they want?
blackcherry2002 replied to Shasta92582's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i've had fills and I can still eat bread and whatever I want...just a lot less...it's better that way lol -
I'm no longer MORBIDLY OBESE lol...just obese! my BMI is out of the 40's...it's a good moment lol..:w00t:

k i have a lot. I'm down from a 22 to a verrrrry loose 18:) My blood pressure dropped from 120ish/98ish to 109/70, I might be getting those numbers wrong but basically a month after surgery my BP had dropped dramatically and my doctors were really surprised. I no longer get as worn out from walking or climbing stairs. I have a waist again! I have friends that gave me a hard time about the surgery that are now jealous of me...sucks when your fat friend becomes competition again I guess lol My stomach no longer touches the steering wheel when I drive, though its a long time before it gets anywhere near small lol I don't constantly think about food, or feel really guilty about gorging or gain all my weightloss back in ONE night of gorging...I've done it before:( I've gone from 51-42-52 to 45-34-46...somewhere around there lol

Anyone else have this problem?
blackcherry2002 replied to baby ruth's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hahaha. EXACT problem...some of my lower belly has gone but not much...not too worried because my measurements (ratio-wise) are the same...I'm not a 45-33-46, I went from a 22- to an 18. Mind you if I was those measurements and without the lower belly i'd be much happier lol...I'd say give it a little more time...I started getting a bad lower belly around 210-220 so I'm guessing that's when I'll start losing it...so only 15 more lbs! lol -
K so I decided tonight that i was going to exercise today, first time in a lonnnnng time, first time really since surgery...bad I know...but anyway I'm walking around this track and I'm almost about to quite and I'm like...NO! one more lap and all of a sudden I start hearing these loud "Boom"'s...I look over my shoulder and someones lighting off fireworks and they keep going my whole last lap and end right when I get back to my car...how's that for motivation lol...now if I could get fireworks every time I worked out:P lol

Are We Ready For A Woman VP?
blackcherry2002 replied to Daisalana's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

I'm so depressed, I think this was the worst mistake ever.
blackcherry2002 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah I know, but I believe there is one other doctor in the state that does fills...yay! so...I'll try there but I wonder if they are going to give me some BS about "well they didn't do the surgery, they can't do the fills". Though it would be a lot shorter drive. And I'm doing ok...went down to 236ish. Just sitting there now lol...Can't wait till I get to the 220's and 210's. Right now the "Omg! I'm losing weight" hasn't hit me because I've been able to get this low before, but never any lower and I always gained it back and then some lol... -
So it's odd, I used to be someone that would stuff themselves, because I'd go straight from starving to omg! I shouldn't have at that! So now it's weird that my restriction really isn't like "I'm full." more like "well I'm not really hungry, blah I'm bored of eating." I seriously get bored of eating...who thoughtt that would ever happen lol:blink:

Ok I have no clue if these statistics are real or made up(I found them on a website and am not claiming they are mine at all)...but honestly they sound pretty real, especially because i was a child in the 1990's and girls really do diet when they are 8 years old...it's sad... <TABLE class=forumline cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=3 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=row1> Dieting One out of three women and one out of four men are on a diet at any given time. 35% of occasional dieters progress into pathological dieting. Two out of five women and one out of five men would trade three to five years of their life to achieve their weight goals. Diet and diet related products are a 33 billion dollar a year industry. In 1970 the average age a girl started dieting was 14; by 1990 the average age dropped to 8. One half of 4th grade girls are on a diet. 81% of ten-year-old girls are afraid of being fat. 51% of nine and ten-year-old girls stated they felt better about themselves when they were adhering to a diet. While only one out of ten high school girls are overweight, one out of ten high school juniors and seniors diet. 79% of teenage girls who vomit and 73% of teenage girls who use diet pills are frequent readers of women’s health and fitness magazines. This is in contrast to less than 43% of teenage girls who do not participate in these purging methods. Body Image In one study, three out of four women stated that they were overweight although only one out of four actually were. Four out of five U.S. Women are dissatisfied with their appearance. 81% of ten-year-old girls are afraid of being fat. A study found that adolescent girls were more fearful of gaining weight than getting cancer, nuclear war or losing their parents. Over one half of normal weight white adolescent girls consider themselves fat. Following viewing images of female fashion models, seven out of ten women felt more depressed and angrier than prior to viewing the images. When preschoolers were offered dolls identical in every respect except weight, they preferred the thin doll nine out of ten times. A study asked children to assign attractiveness values to pictures of children with various disabilities. The participants rated the obese child less attractive than a child in a wheelchair, a child with a facial deformity, and a child with a missing limb. A study found that women overestimate the size of their hips by 16% and their waists by 25%, yet the same women were able to correctly estimate the width of a box. In a Glamour survey, 61% of respondents said they were ashamed of their hips, 64% were ashamed of their stomachs and 72% were ashamed of their thighs. 30% of women chose an ideal body shape that is 20% underweight and an additional 44% chose an ideal body shape 10% underweight. 50% of women wear size 14 or larger, but most standard clothing outlets cater to sizes 14 or smaller. Models In 1950 mannequins closely resembled the average measurements or women. The average hip measurement of mannequins and women were 34 inches. By 1990 the average hip measurement was 37 inches, while the average mannequins hip measured only 31 inches. If today's mannequins were actual human women, based on their theoretical body-fat percentages they would have probably ceased to menstruate. The average U.S. woman is 5'4" and weighs 140 pounds. In contrast, the average U.S. model is 5'11" and weighs 117 pounds. Over the last three decades fashion models, Miss America contestants, and Playboy centerfolds have grown steadily thinner, while the average woman's weight has actually risen. Some of the pictures of the models in magazines do not really exist. The pictures are computer-modified compilations of different body parts. A study found that 25% of Playboy centerfolds met the weight criteria for Anorexia. Twenty years ago the average fashion model weighed 8% less than the average woman. Today she weighs 23% less. Kate Moss is 5'7" and weights 95 pounds. That is 30% below ideal body weight. Supermodels Niki Taylor and Elle Macpherson also meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia. Gisele Bundchen was Vogue's model of the year, in part the magazine states, because she strays from the rail-thin image. Gisele is 5'11" and weighs only 115, that is 25% below her ideal body weight Television & Movies Following the introduction of Western television in Fiji, there was a surge in the rate of eating disorders. One out of every four television commercials sends out some sort of message about attractiveness. 80% of women who answered a People magazine survey responded that images of women on television and in the movies make them feel insecure. Actresses Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz and singer Diana Ross all meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia. Model/Actress Elizabeth Hurley stated in Allure Magazine, "I've always thought Marilyn Monroe looked fabulous, but I'd kill myself if I was that fat." Pamela Anderson is 5'7" and weights 120 pounds. She is supposed to be the voluptuous ideal yet she is 11% below ideal body weight. In contrast, a generation ago Marilyn Monroe set the beauty standard at 5'5" and weighed 135 pounds. Today her agent would probably tell her she had to lose weight! </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE class=tbl cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=tbll></TD><TD class=tblbot></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

What does restriction feel like to you?
blackcherry2002 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I'm not getting hungry. I sometimes do eat frequently some days just because I feel like I should be eating, but then I take a bite or two and realize I'm still full. I'm getting enough food in tho... -

Ok...I only drink water. Gave up pop like 6 years ago...funny cuz that's when I started gaining weight. I don't eat fast food all the time : WHEN I do I eat chicken nuggets. At 8cc's I DO have restriction, just wondering if it's enough. I have started losing weight I'm just weirded out that it's not coming off fast enough...I'll go two weeks without losing, and then I'll lose two pounds...and that seems to be the cycle I'm doing...I wrote this post when I was down that's all... -

My doc said that basically I wouldn't lose nearly as much as the gastric bypass...he def. favors it more... Anyway, by testing she meant blood test for thyroid problems. I am diagnosed as having hypotyhroidism and I'm currently taking levotyhroxine at 75micrograms.... -

No kidding! and I thought I had good insurance, I mean I only pay $3 for generic prescriptions and $9 for name-brand but then I get screwed when I need a dinky needle of saline, go figure. It's been two weeks since my 2nd fill, and I do feel some restriction I just...wish there were more. However I felt very little restriction with 5cc's. I have a question....how many of you have had weird size issues? For instance I was a 13/14 when I was 165lbs...but I'm at 238ish right now and in an 18 and it's starting to get loose...so I'm wondering if when I hit 165 again I won't end up being smaller than a 13/14...Do you get what I'm saying? lol I'm not being very clear... -

funny thing is, I'm getting charged a gym fee but they are in the process of building it. Won't be done for another few months. And unfortunately, I've been heavy my whole life. Not extremely but always a good 40-50 lbs overweight. Well my senior year of high school, I went gained about an extra 85 lbs in 4-5 months. I don't know how or why. Although I did find out my throid was messed up go figure...But I did gain weight pretty rapidly so I probably will have saggy skin, I already have a ton of stretchmarks everywhere. So I'm not expecting to get to goal weight in a month or anything, but I was kind of hoping these first few months I'd see some decent weightloss maybe 20 lbs-ish, and then it would slow down. I have dropped down to 236 now, I was just stuck at 240 for 2 months.... -
My personal favorite is Trojan: Shared Pleasures, Warming Sensation...comes in a bright orange box. They don't really have much of a warmiing sensation, that I can tell, but they seem to be the most comfortable for both parties involved, and just enough lube: not too much, not too little.
