You look great!

Good morning.... I got a new cell phone a couple months ago and I guess I was logged out of the group. How is everyone doing? How is everyones weight loss journey?
-
November to now... 246lbs to 194lbs!!!
-
I'm doing pretty good. Weight loss has slowed down to 1-3 lbs a week on average. I'm beginning week 9 and have lost 41 pounds since surgery. I'd like to hear how everyone else is coming along too...
-
Thank you for sharing. I'm wondering where everyone else is at now that our diet is "regular?" I have been doing my best to follow a certain diet, but gave up on the keto diet about 2 weeks ago. Since adding carbs back into my diet I have absolutely no problem getting at least 1000 calories per day, sometimes I may eat more. Of course my weight loss has slowed to a snails pace. Last week was only 0.8 pounds and this week seems like it will be less. I need to get myself back into gear. I need to log my foods and stop "cheating" with Recese's peanut butter cups. I'm just being honest, and I'm wondering if anyone else has fallen off the band wagon as horribly as I have? If not, someone please give me some kick in the ass words of encouragement, and I am going to switch gears before the time passes and I am out of this initial 6 month honeymoon phase. Sincerely, Week #6 post op And 35 lbs lost since surgery (Not enough weight lost for me to give up after everything I've been through)

You can add my name to the slow down list... I have a feeling I know why, at least for myself. Surgery date: November 27th. (In week 5) Surgery weight: 247 current weight: 216 I was doing very well up until the week of Christmas when my Mom visited. I used her visit and the holiday as an excuse to eat whatever and however I wanted. I was following keto diet when I was on my prep diet and the 3 weeks post up leading up to Christmas and I was doing great! Now that I have reintroduced carbs back into my diet, I have not looked back since. The only thing I am looking back at is the rapid weight loss. Last week less than 4 pounds lost, and as for this week, I am currently +1 pound. I don't officially weigh in for the week until Monday morning, but I guess it is going to take either an actual gain or no weight lost week for me to kick myself in the butt again and get myself back on track. 😐😐😐 I don't know what to say other than its important to be honest with myself during this process, and the only thing that can effect my progress is my actions.

I'm going closet shopping this weekend to hopefully find something to wear Christmas Eve to church. I'm down to 220.0 and I'm 3 weeks and 3 days post op. Starting weight 246 lbs, surgery weight 237 lbs... Total loss since surgery is also 17 lbs. I've been sticking to Keto diet and have really been craving carbs lately. I'm wondering if anyone else did or is doing keto diet post op and if so, what happens to the weight loss if you go back to a regular diet?
-
I'm doing pretty well! I can't believe I'll be 3 weeks post op tomorrow, time Sure does fly by. I'm down to 222 lbs, right at 25 lbs. My clothes already feel so much better and I can wear my rings again, so there is my non-scale victory. How are you doing? How's your weight loss going?
-
Great, keep it up. It gets easier every day
-
Good luck! You should be on post op day #1 today! I'm on post op day #6, it gets better quicker than you realize
-
Congratulations, you are on post op day #1 today. Hang in there, today and tomorrow will be the worst, but then you will start to get the hang of it by day 3 and the pain will reduce significantly days 3 and 4. I'm on post op day #6 and feel great!
-
Not sure how many days post op you are, but yesterday (3 days post op) I was finally able to drink without it hurting. Even the protein drinks are going down a little easier yesterday and today. Don't push yourself the first day or two post op, but I'd say if it goes much longer than that I'd contact my doctor. Dehydration is the main concern I think

Welcome to the group!

@HappyHikerGal I'm two days post-op now and I'm still 3 lbs more than my surgery weight. Very depressing to go through the pre-op diet and only lose 7 lbs in two weeks, thank again 4 of those 7 lbs back post surgery. How are you doing now? Have you started lose yet?
-
@Deseree5 I noticed that you only lost 7 lbs during your preop diet... That's what happened to me too. Also, now that I'm home from surgery 2 days ago I have gained 2 lbs of that 7 back. Just curious to know if your weight loss picked up or if you are still slow losing?
-
I had my surgery yesterday, and I can relate. I did have a little heartburn before, but this feels really different. Its almost like I can feel everything I drink through the middle of my back.
-
Everything seemed to go great! Praise God! I'm so ready to go home now. I am actually laying here thinking that I'm hungry.. Mind is playing tricks on mg
-
Thank you. Those are all things I need to hear, today and probably in 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks and more. I have spent my whole life focusing on the pounds and should have been doing all those things you just said. Great support system, thank you again, and of course I'll keep you updated.
-
Great job!!! Sounds like you are on your way!!! Looking like my surgery weight will be 238lbs. I have only lost 9 lbs on this two week preop diet 🥴 Looks like many people lose 15-20 lbs before surgery.... Not me, hopefully I will be 237 tomorrow for a grand total of 10 lbs preop.
-
@november11 how much have you lost so far? I see your starting weight and mine are pretty close. I'm going tomorrow at 1130am for my surgery.
-
Congrats! I go for my Sleeve tomorrow at 1130am. #morethanready
-
Thank you. I'm getting really excited now, two more days and off to surgery I go!!!Congratulations on returning to work. I'm only taking one week off, I hope that's enough😐
-
Hang in there, it gets easier as the days go by. The first 3 days are pretty rough, but then your body adjusts... Somewhat 🥴
-
Good luck. I did the same thing (food funeral) last week during the beginning of my two week diet. I'm 41 years old and feel like food and me have had a good run too... Which even more validates that it is time to do something in my mind. I'm winding it up now, and will be going for my vsg surgery Wednesday. Been following the diet fairly carefully. I just keep telling myself that this is not the last time I can have the things I love to eat, it's just the last time I am going to eat too much of the foods I love, and that overall it is just time to change.

Add me please for November 27th @Heather246
