  1. I was banded with the realize band on 11/11/2008. I have been having all kinds of promblems. The food gets stuck, sometimes I can't tolerate things to drink. I have been vomiting. Sometimes the food hurts. I have not had a fill yet. My doctor had to remove what little fluid that was placed in the band at the time of surgery. They said that my band is still too tight, which has caused some swelling in my stomach. I have been miserable. I'm now waiting on approve to swith to the lap band. My doctor believes this will relieve the problem. So far the only good thing is I have lost 48lbs.

I have had the exact same problem for the last three weeks. I can't keep much of anything down. The pain is so bad that it is not worth the pain of eating. However, they said that my band is too tight. I'm getting this problem fixed monday and I can't wait.

    Surgeon's Visit

I had my appointment with my surgeon today. Everything is looking pretty good. If all goes well I should be band some time in august. He said that I was a excellent canidate for the lapband. On the the 17th I go see the behavorist and the nutritionist. I'm very nervous and excited at the same time. But, I'm looking forward to the life style change.
  5. I had a male friend that would crack fat jokes about meand other people. After, all he said that he was just kidding around.Did'nt he understand I had feelings? But, I would just laugh it off, but deep down it hurt. Sometimes I would go into another room and just cry. He always made me very self conscious of myself.

    Neebie

Hi! I am new to all of this. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm looking forward to start a new beginning. However, I have not had my surgery yet. I had to do six months of a supervised diet plan. I just completed the weight watchers program. I have an appointment with the Dr. on June 13th. I also, see the the behavorist and the nutritionist on June 17th. But, I have to wonder are all of these appointments really necessary. So I'm assuming they have submitted my paper work to the Insurance company. However wish me luck!:rolleyes2:

    I am not 'fat' enough??!!!

This exact same thing happened to me. I had my doctor order me a sleep study test for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is listed as one of the morbid conditions. I knew that I snore and was told that I sometimes stop breathing at night. So, this was basically my last hope or gain 10lbs. Well, it turned out that I had sleep apnea. Now, the ball is roll in my favor. So, don't give up
