I had been maintaining too just so my surgeon could see my progress but now it’s on lol. Me and my husband have a date today for a crab leg boil and I can’t wait. About 2 other places I have to have before surgery cause I definitely won’t get to have them for a long while 😩😩 lol. Thankfully I’ll get to enjoy thanksgiving dinner before my preop diet begins!

Awesome to hear!! I also watch a lot of videos and do a lot of research. I feel that the more knowledgeable I am about the surgery, the more I feel comfortable with my decision! -

Oh man yeah it was really convenient to get everything done in one day. Did my preop labs yesterday, met anesthesia, RT, pharmacist first. Then pre registered. Went to the financial office to pay my deductible of $250 and then went and met with surgeon & surgical nurse. Got my binder with all of my info for before and after. Have to do 10 days of preop diet!

All prerequisites done - likely Dec 2019!

Only some of my coworkers know what I’m having, I didn’t really want to say to the whole office what I’m having either. Don’t worry about her, she’ll be okay!! My surgeon also said 2-3 weeks for me as well. -
I went into this also not knowing if I wanted the surgery but my insurance required 6 months of doctors visits (among other requirements) and that was the perfect amount of time for me to figure out what I wanted to do. I went to each visit “unsure” and my pcp supported my indecisiveness and never pushed me to do it; or not. Take this time to research everything, the good, the bad, the ugly. Make the decision based off of how you feel about what you’ve found. Get minimal opinions from others (I only discussed it with my spouse, mom, & MIL) and even then their opinions were taken with a grain of salt.

Thank you!! Yes I’ve seen so many people who say they wanted this so bad, regretted and now are grateful for it. As well as the other way around, were scared but ended up with no complications and hardly any pain. I’m a pretty strong person and have a great support system BUT I know this is a life change and I pray my strength continues mentally. I’m trying to prepare myself for “the worst” (as far as healing, pain, learning to use my new tool, transitioning into a new phase, etc.) but hopeful for the best experience!
