Katt,
I have some "junk" almost every day but in very small amounts. I get my protein in most days but have a hard time getting in enough water and sometimes (many times) I don't get in all the vitamins. Try not to beat yourself up, we are in this for the long haul so it will all work out.
It is wonderful to be able to move around and not feel like I am dying! I hope I get more energy back though, I seem to be very tired quite often. My friend who has had the bypass says that energy comes back more after 50 lbs weight loss. And I have read that between 3 and 6 months out I should feel more "normal". Happy 4th of July, ENJOY YOURSELF!!!

Wow...your weight loss is really moving along! Good work! I'm doing well. I'm in St. Petersburg, FL with my kids and grandkids for the weekend. We had a nice dinner at the Columbia Restaurant (I had a snapper dish) and spent some time out on a pier. Tomorrow we'll take the kids to the beach where there will be live music and fireworks over the Gulf. It's great to be able to walk around and enjoy doing things again without being in constant pain.
My food choices have been pretty lousy this week. I haven't eaten any large quantities of anything--and I've gotten in plenty of protein--but I've eaten too much junk, missed my vitamins, and been low on my water intake. I've had chips on a couple occasions, several cookies, a few bites of cheesecake, and a small piece of a brownie. I don't know why I had a harder time this week, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I just need to make healthier choices. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Hi Katt,
How are you? Happy 4th of July! Hope all is well. I am good. Gets better as I get more time in! 8 weeks tomorrow. Down 41 or so lbs. I am exercising 20 minutes a day which is a miracle for me! I still get very tired at times but in general feel so much better. Let me hear from you, take care.
If it is to be It is up to me!

Hey, how are you doing by now? Good here, still plugging away. More good days than bad. Just thinking of you since we are at 8 weeks now.

There was one thing that I did not know when I scheduled with Dr. V. He uses a small bogie size 32, the surgeon that I am going to here for follow up uses a 42 and sometimes even a 52. So your pouch will be smaller than some which is ok with me but I did not realize this in the beginning. You can probably research the sizes and reasons for them online and decide for yourself. I did a lot of research but somehow the bogie size wasn't something that I checked into very much. More later.

Hi,
I was happy with the hospital and the surgical team. Sherry is super nice but she was very busy when I was there. She has a lot going on.
We came a few days early and stayed at a Mexican hotel downtown. My sister has visited Mexico numerous times and she wanted me to get some real Mexico. I know you have many questions, I know I sure did. I will write more later. Let me say this, I do not regret going to Cancun at all. There is not much follow up and I have done some things on my own that I will share with you. I have a doctor's appointment that I have to go to now, but I will write more later.
Hangn there, it will really be ok!!! I will help you all that I can.

So how is it going by now? I am eating soft foods and venturing out a little but trying to eat mostly soups, protein drinks, and yogurt etc. but I did try some flounder last night and I had Weny's chili today (1/2 of a small order).
How are you feeling? It will be a month Monday, it is good to be this far out, looking forward to more "normal" feeling as time goes on.
