    did i make a mistake

And this too shall pass.....keep telling your self this!!!! Because it will!!! I was banded August 2008...I have lost 35 pounds. I will keep going and so will you because we have too! This is the best place to go for support too!! You hang in there for all of us! :Dancing_sorry:
  3. Cutiew/Booty: Ya know...I did not think of that....huh...Ya know I don't know...I have two little boys that I am always running after and I have not stopped to pay attention. I do know that as one of the girls mentioned earlier...inches are impotant too. I can tell in my legs that I have lost inches...And maybe shaking up the work out might be another key point. Maybe I am getting impatient too...That is why I love this web site so much, it really helps put things in perspective....
  4. I AM RIGHT THERE with all of you. I was banded August 5th and my first fill is the 12th of September. I just feel like AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH someday. I lost that first 20 pounds and now it seems that no matter what I that scale won’t budge. I just want to bash it with a sledge hammer....I walk my dogs, I walk with my kids, I eat more salads than I have ever in my life...I even bought Denise Austin's house party work out video. ( she is good for beginners) Now the first time I played it, I mostly stood in place and walked because I could not keep up. But my endurance has improved and some days I even play the video twice...BUT I’ll be dammed it that scale moves???????????????????????????????????????? PLEASE TELL ME THAT FILL is going to shed a light of hope, because I got to tell yea that is the best long term that I have taken care of my self and I still do not understand what I am doing wrong. I mean I still have days that I choose to just drink the protein shakes instead of eating because I don’t feel like eating? YET, NOTHING??? I am considering joining a gym. I have been doing my research around my area ya know with the monthly fee, joining fees, and contract length…maybe that is what I need?

    Tanning post op???

I dont know, but I am going to call my doctor and find out...I really want to go tan too. I have a ball coming up with my hubby's work and that sleeve less dress would look so much better if I had a little bit of color......No one sees my tummy anyways but the hubby!

    Did I make a mistake??

I swear...I was thinking the very same thing...OH my gosh...I made a huge mistake....I should have gone to the gym more....I am right there with you...Thank all of you so much for your support. I got on line today to see if all this pain was normal or was something wrong with me.....Today is better than yesterday, but I am still taking my pain meds...

    Just Banded Yesterday

I am also very sore..I was banded on the 5th of AUgust and man, I was in for a bit of a suprise how much pain there really is. I can sleep in my bed, but I am propped up on like four pillows. MY left side realllllly hurts. I am still on pain meds and can not wait to get past this phase...
  9. B-12 shots help with the low energy! MY doctors nurse gives them to me, I do not even need an appointment.
  10. Your having a problem because you are human, and we are not built to live off liquids...and lets not forget the most obvious reason "IT SUCKS". My band date is August 5th, and protein shakes have been the key for me. The more grams of protein the better. I even found a protein powder at GNC with 65 grams. If you get one of those shake mixers, it makes the protein shakes thicker. You will find that you will have to begin to force your self to drink..that is the point that I am at now! BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE...This is not easy!

    Surgery in 11 days

The liquid diet was sooooo hard for me at first, but you get to a point there a switch clicks and you realize you CAN do this....with out cheating!! And you have got to laugh...I tell my friends when they ask me how I am doing...."GREAT....the new me...I LOVE BEING HUNGRY" IT ROCKS.....This must be what it feels like to be skinnny...HUNGY! JUst kidding...but you have got to laugh!!!
  12. I am suprised there is no pre op diet...the purpose of the diet is to shrink your liver for the surgey? They have to lift up your liver to get to your stomach? Right?
  13. What about the protein drinks? The same ones we drank before the surgery. Do they help curb hunger and tummy grumbling?

How long did you wait in between fills?

I do not know yet, will be banded very soon......But it seems that getting a FILL MIGHT HURT?
  15. lenore25

How long did you wait in between fills?

What does it mean when you say..."Food gets stuck"? What do you do when this happens?
  16. lenore25

How long did you wait in between fills?

I know what you mean...it does seem to be all encompassing....Maybe that means we are ready to be dedicated.....
  17. Ladies, I can not tell you how much your support means to me!!! This web site has become my life line for sanity checks when it comes to having this procedure done! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> OHHH, I did a lot of research. GBS is just too dangerous for me. I am a mom of two beautiful boys, both under six, of which, one of my boys has autism and I have just decided that I have everything to live for. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> I do think I am a bit sensitive right now, it is just being over weight is already a sensitive issue for me; I do not need negative energy around me right now. Especially from the people that are giving me the band. I was really down the day that I posed my thread and needed some encouragement. I was seriously, almost considering backing out. <o:p></o:p> But, I did make it through, and I have decided to stick to my liquid diet and have this band put on. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> I just really hate the fact that every month or so I am going to have to drive five hours just to deal with such dissatisfaction and aggravation. :rolleyes2:<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> And yes you are right, a supportive husband is imperative right now....<o:p></o:p> THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbs_up::shades_smile::thumbs_up::teeth_smile::thumbs_up::wink_smile::thumbs_up:
  18. My band date is set for August 5th, my pre op was yesterday. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> Here is how my day went: I was suppose to meet my doctor for the first time after five very long months of very hard work to get all my approvals, but he double scheduled his day and I ended up seeing his nurse instead. Her first words to me were MOST ALL OF OUR PATIENTS ARE GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS "The lapband has a fifty percent failure rate". WE remove as many as we put in, because it does not work. We only do fills once a month, if you miss it, YOU have to wait until the next month for your next fill. YOU will not receive a small fill at surgery and your first fill will NOT be until six weeks after surgery. NO EXCEPTIONS!! <o:p></o:p> NOW I live two and a half hours away from this doctor’s office (ONE WAY) and I do not know if I am just very sensitive and expected a more supportive staff, since they seem to be the only ones I am going to be dealing with, not a doctor, or if I am just getting cold feet. I really want this lap band and I have alllll my approvals, and that took some dedication...but I really do not like the way lap band patience are treated. I feel like they are trying to push gastric bypass surgery down my throat. This is not the first time they have tried to change my mind either. THE WORST PART TO ME IS THIS IS THE ONLY PRACTICE IN THE STATE THAT I LIVE THAT DOES THE LAPBAD...<o:p></o:p> I am on my liquid diet...It is day four and I have ten more days to go.....AM I JUST HUNGRY and taking everything wrong OR IS THE WRITING ON THE WALL:scared2::tt2:? I forgot to mention that my hubby is military and we will move from here within the year....I do not know if I hould just have the band and put up with attitude or not have the band and wait for a docotrs office more suportative and have a better experiance?

Will I ever stop loving to eat?

Patience.....I TOO am two weeks out.......just keep thinking to your self how much better you are going to feel when that weight starts to fall off........And my lids, just like your family, is my driving force....I can not wait to be able to run after them and be able to keep up with them.......

    New to Lap Band world

yea, that is a darn good point!!!

    New to Lap Band world

thank you for the info!!! I will have my lapband surgery before we move, but I am going to need some one once we get settled and word of mouth is always more effective for me.
  23. I am curious. I am reading everyone’s bogs about pain, gas, nausea, etc...and I am beginning to wonder if this surgery is worse or comparable to having a c-section. I KNOW...we are talking about two completely different body parts, however, I had 2 c-sections 14 months apart and I tell ya after that second c-section, I never thought I would ever feel right again. I am kind of a nervous when it comes to pain, so I am just trying to relate this band lapsurgery to something..
