Any Chicago sleeve parients here?
foxcblue replied to annanay1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Nycholle! I’m fighting off my last 30lbs with a Fatloss Camp in Chicago. It’s amazing! The workouts are fierce and the diet is clean, and there’s a ton of support and accountability. And - they provide a plan for maintenance, which is huge for me. Look up “Travis Garza Chicago” on Google- I'd share the link but not sure it’s allowed. -

foxcblue started following Pity Party - WAAAAAAAH!, Rate your recovery , Tasty Purée recipes? and and 5 others
-
I’d rate my recovery about a 5. LOTS of pain day 1-3 because of repaired hernia. Severe pain from reflux day 7. Only took pain meds until day 3, powered through after that. Very difficult to drink anything until day 3, EXTREMELY fatigued until this week (6/7 surgery)- but I’m also just able to do vitamins.

Hi All! Second day purée and I’m drawing a blank. I puréed lentils and grilled chicken and added hummus. It was magical - something savory with texture...yum! Anyone have any delicious purée recipes? PS- if this is in the wrong place, please let me know. Thank you!

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

First of all, great job!!! Secondly, I definitely feel your pain here. I’m trying to increase my walks, but the shortest walk exhausts me. I’m using vitamin patches for the first time today, so I feel a bit better. -
I’m still only two weeks out, but I want to be able to get back to my 3.5 mile walk sooner than later. Looking forward to less fatigue.

I did have fertility issues - I was able to get pregnant, but had multiple miscarriages. “Well intentioned” people said some of the most awful things or asked the most hurtful questions, having no clue of their impact. After my fifth miscarriage, and someone telling me, “Well, maybe God’s just telling you that you don’t need to have anymore children” the DAY I came home from the hospital with empty arms, I decided that I didn’t have to be “nice” when people inserted themselves into my life uninvited. I thankfully WAS able to have another child. People just don’t think before they speak.

I've stalled. I need to stop weighing everyday. I do feel better; less light headed, a bit more energy. Ready to hit the gym, but I'm still scared I'll pass out. :-( -
Constipation Issues
foxcblue replied to blackhawkpro's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Atkins plus protein shakes with 7 grams of fiber and I’m finally getting in enough water. Water, fiber, walk/move, repeat. I was prescribed miralax but haven’t taken it yet. Keep dr. aware of things, and be careful of things that may “swing the gate” too far in the other direction. -

I know both quite intimately! He performed my surgery. -
Grammy can, respectfully, kick rocks. Don’t tell her I said that, though. 🤣 But seriously, do what you can to ignore it. You went through A LOT on this journey, and there’s a lot more to go. You made the best decision for YOU - the you that will live with the benefits of the decision you made- not the Peanut gallery. I’m proud of you. And I’m pretty awesome so that should mean more than the naysayers. 😄

I haven’t gotten to the end of the thread, but everyone is entitled to their feelings. The OP gets to be offended by this - because that’s how he feels. I’m a Christian, and I do pray for people and if I know that it will be a comfort to someone, I’ll tell them. If I know or am not sure that will comfort them, which is the point of sharing that, I won’t. They might be comforted by “being in my thoughts”, or just me telling them “I’m here for you”. The intention does not dictate the receipt. Just something to think about.

You guys are so nice! Your responses let me know how much maturing I still have to do. I’ve been working on just ending those conversations - by any means necessary. I’ll do better.

I’m sorry you’re going through this! I hope you’re able to find some support/relief soon.
