I had VSG surgery December 17 2019 and I’m wondering is it too early to have a glass of wine

Most surgeons say to wait at least six months while some say to wait a whole year, but you're close to the six month mark so... I personally, don't think a glass would hurt, but you could always check with your surgeon.

I smoked h ookah a week post-op. No problems except I felt a little guilty for some reason. Didn't get approval from dr or anyone but...I'm still here haha. Exactly one month out now and still doing great. So 🤷♀️ but that's also just me.

Your pee may be darker yellow is one sign. How much Water have you had today? I think calling your surgeon is probably a good idea. Good luck!

lesleymack2019 reacted to AZhiker in I'm so upset, I'm a slow loser
Please don't compare yourself to anyone else. Slower loss is not a bad thing. Your skin will not be as saggy, and your mind will have an easier time adjusting to the new body. Body dysmorphia with rapid loss can be very challenging. This is a journey, not a race. The goal is to learn new eating habits, new exercise habits, and to build a lifestyle that will last forever. Listen to your own body. If a 1,000 calories is too much, then cut back. You might like to try Alternate Day caloric restriction. It can help with faster loss, and is actually not hard. Eat 500 calories at least 2 days a week. Then eat normally on the other days. Some people alternate the low calorie days every other day for a while. This strategy sort of tricks your metabolism and avoids going into the starvation mode. Keep exercising and build in some weight training. (I do my weights at home - not a gym. They are really light weights, but its the reps and consistency that matters.) Building muscle mass increases metabolism. Please do not get discouraged. Start setting some goals for yourself that are not weight related - like walking or weights or stair climbing. Or getting more sleep or reaching out to social contacts regularly or reading a new book that stretches your mind or learning a new relaxtion technique. These are all healthy lifestyle goals that we need to work on, and all of them also help with weight loss, either directly or indirectly.

lesleymack2019 reacted to despacit0w0 in VSG cramping after purees, otherwise I'm a bottomless pit for fluids
I wish I was bottomless pit for Protein Shakes lol but I feel pretty bottomless when it comes to clear, thin liquids. I can eat an entire sugar free popsicle, a whole bowl of broth, a bottle of Water, etc. As soon as it gets some thickness I have to slow down though. I am 2 weeks and 2 days out

You shouldn't be doing pills, you should be on chews. Just my opinion

lesleymack2019 reacted to JediMom in Merry Christmas
Yes we did everything yesterday too and it was such a struggle not eating anything. I had about 1oz of very soft meat basically puréed with salsa to help moisten it and got very full. I ate that twice and was full. I have so many leftovers today it’s ridiculous. So much was food was already taken. Hoping my husband and kids eat through the food quickly.
