Found this on FB and it's been pretty accurate for me. Lost over 20 pounds right after surgery very quickly then things were slow from week 2-5ish but since then it's been coming off at a pound or so a day. ETA: this is from some keto thing so ignore the starting weight part but it seems to fit for me and others after surgery.

Touchy subject.... stinky poo and gas :(
lvidacovich replied to Pattianne's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I might as well just live in the bathroom if that was the case. I'd never be able to sit at my desk and get work done! -
You look great! Minimal or no complications to this point I'm guessing as well?

It's my opinion that you shouldn't rely on surgery to keep you from eating certain foods - you're setting yourself up to fail as I believe you'd still find bad foods that your surgery would tolerate. It sounds to me like you haven't made the head changes needed to make either surgery a success and I fear you'll be looking into another surgery within the next couple or three years. You're a week out and already eating fries on instinct. Tells me most of what I need to know personally. On top of that you're already not sticking to the post-op diet.

9 days post op - feeling good - but drinking too much???
lvidacovich replied to kim2girls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope, you're fine. I too was able to get mine down in 20 mins at that time if I worked at it. -
Pre-op diet. One week in and feel terrible. Struggling.
lvidacovich replied to fashionista2000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could it be cold or flu or something else? Might also be what some call Keto flu since you've gone very low carb recently. I doubt it's dehydration - are you getting 96 oz in a day or so? As long as your pee is lemonade color or lighter you're fine on the hydration front. -
Shortness of breath/ light headed
lvidacovich replied to Sweetthing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup! If you don't have one then focus on breathing in slowly as much as you can and filling your lungs to capacity. Do this a couple times an hour while you're aware. That's really all the incentive spirometer does. -
post op 2 wk clear liquid diet nutrition .
lvidacovich replied to Slownstedy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're sure they specifically said CLEAR liquid during the post-op 2 week diet? Would be the first I've heard of that. I know some do clear liquids pre-op. Clear liquids is tough - RTD protein shakes are out so you'd have to do syntrax nectar or protein water. -
Diet after bariatric sleeve
lvidacovich replied to Justthebeginning2019's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan was 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks soft foods then I was cleared for everything other than salad and raw veggies. No puree weeks as part of my plan. It seems to be as fast as anyone gets to soft food and full diet. I've had no issues with any foods thus far and I'm 5 weeks post-op yesterday. -
You're likely already hitting what people call the 3 week slump. Weeks 3 and 4 were very slow for me but picked up after that. Too early to tell but you'll be fine - stick to the plan

Baritastic is the correct answer here. Designed for WLS patients it tracks your weight loss, measurements, water intake and all the macros you want. It's pretty dang good for a free app and I like it more than MFP or anything else I've used. Being easy to use means you'll use it like you're supposed to!

Insurance and body lift ... IT'S A JOKE
lvidacovich replied to damzelindistres5's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Insurance sucks. I'm working through an issue with them myself on my surgery and I know when it's all said and finished that I'm likely going to have to pay more than the self-pay price even though I hit my deductible and OOP max! -

My parents must live in the wrong part of Texas or have the wrong friends! I'll ask around, I'll be there tomorrow! -

Was she selling them out of a roll around cooler? Because we have one of those ladies here and I love her tamales! -

Must be a west coast/SW USA thing. We have decent tamales here thanks to enough texans making their way up into OK. -

Are tamales holiday related and I've somehow missed this? They look delicious! -
You'll do great! Mix things up, that will help a lot!

You're 100% on. I need to embrace the restriction and not try to fight it. I'll stick to weighing and voluming (is that a think) my foods and not push things! I even texted my wife last night that I made WAY too many meatballs and stopped at 6 when I started to feel like I was full. Thank you chix!! -

This is good. I'll make sure that I understand their suggestions and if it's weight or volume they're referring to. -

I do appreciate your concern. And I can guarantee that the 6 mini meatballs I ate would have been less than 1/2 cup if I ground them up. I'm still barely able to get 1 egg with some cheese down. To give an example I used to regularly eat 4 or 5 egg omelettes with 8oz of sausage and cheese in them. I would have eaten that whole bag of mini meatballs on some rolls with sauce and cheese lol. But now I'm scared I've already stretched out my sleeve too much and it'll fail to give me weight loss. -

Thank you! I'm happy with my progress so far. I have my next appointment next week so I'll chat with them and make sure I'm on the track they expect. -

I'll have to look at my handbook but 3-4oz per meal seems in line with what expectations were. My handbook is at home so I checked some others out that were online including Tufts and 3-4 oz seemed correct for the full foods and even the end of the soft foods phase. My doc also seems to move faster than most. I had 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks soft and then I was cleared for anything other than salad and raw veggies. -

I'm under their plan at this point - they're expecting 1200 cals and 100g of carbs a day at this point in my plan.
