I respect your right to an opinion...but go have it somewhere else.
ELENATION replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in Rants & Raves
hhmm...I see, because that would fall under discrimination....even though that doesn't make it any better really... because ultimately they get away with it... -
I do understand your points and they are valid and it is impressive indeed to hear them all coming from a very young person like you, obviously you have a very good head on your shoulders and that's more than half the battle won in life, you are very smart and I sincerely admire you . I hope that one day my teenage kids grow up to think and behave like you when they reach your age, I wasn't as mature when I was in my early 20's... ,but I'm 45 now and many moons ago I learned my lesson , and I've tried to live responsibly, financially and in every other way, and I teach my kids the same. I also agree that some people get into these problems because of the wrong choices they make, but I must say that sometimes we make choices that are right at the time we make them, and later on something major may happen to us that changes our lives completely, and unfortunately for the worse sometimes...and those responsible choices we made before don't matter anymore and you can easily go financially under in spite of having made all the right choices, not every negative situation that we encounter in our lives is a direct consequence of a bad choice we made, IMHO... If we pay with a credit card at a reputable store, or at a reputable restaurant and the cashier happens to steal our credit card number and steal our identity and charge thousands of dollars under our name which will cause us a financial burden, well obviously we didn't make a bad choice by paying with the credit card, the cashier committed a crime and we had no way of knowing that in advance, maybe that restaurant and that store should be responsible for the employees that they hire and maybe do criminal background check on them or take the necessary precautions and take responsability, I don't have the perfect solution for such situation but somehow I don't see how we could be held accountable for something like this.... the other only choice we could've made was not to pay with a credit card and pay cash, but then we would be going around with cash in our wallets and we will be taking the chance of getting robbed too, that choice can end up having negative consequences as well... Or let's say we make $100K a year and have made it for a few years and we have saved money conservatively and all of a sudden we lose that job for reasons that are out of our control and takes us a very long time to find another job even when we are trying hard, there is a possibility that we will go through our savings and can end up financially hurting, losing our homes and maybe all we have... or if we end up getting sick and not being able to work for a long time, I mean there are tons of scenarios... I guess my point is that choices do have consequences, and we are responsible for our choices but unfortunately sometimes even when we make good choices, the consequences could still be bad due to someone else's iresponsability and I think that does happen very often. Just my 2 cents...

Ugh! what a disgrace, so does that mean that in Louisiana your employer can fire you for being hispanic and they have the right to say it to your face and get away with it? or for being gay, or black? or any other racist reason? and I suppose they are within the law? that's just unbelievable, I never knew that, and obviously there is nothing anyone can do about it...wow....:frown: that sucks and I can't even believe how such law is allowed in this country. -

I think BMI could be fairly accurate as a way of assessing the body fat level but I think we need to keep in mind that it is just an average and does not take into account muscle mass, therefore BMI may overestimate body fat in people with a muscular body and can also underestimate body fat in people who have lost muscle mass. My husband is 6'2 and now he's definitely overweight, :tongue_smilie:.... but when we met he was around 250lbs and very muscular and I don't think he would've looked good weighing any less...:tt1: he looked fine.... However, I do respect those who go strictly by the BMI:wink:

Poll - Democrat or Republican?
ELENATION replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ummmm, you haven't lost a family member there, but your husband was there, your son is about to go there, are they not at risk of losing their lives? wasn't your husband at risk as well while he was there? Hello!!!!:smile2: And you brought a very valid point, like your family members and the rest of those brave people who join the military, it was their decision, a pretty darn brave one by the way, soldiers know they might die, there are people in the world who want to do something selfless. Some people want to protect others, regardless of the risk involved. These brave people are willing to die for their country, you know, I had a soldier tell me once that the highest honor to most soldiers is to die while fighting for their country and that he was proud and willing to do that. For the most part they also believe in their purpose at this time in Iraq and all over the world. Why do people become police officers? It may kill you. Why do people become firefighters? A fire may kill you. Why do people become rescue swimmers? That may kill you too..... maybe I'm the one who's wrong ...:crying: ...but I feel like some people just don't get it.... -
Poll - Democrat or Republican?

Firstly, thanks so much to your husband, your stepson and your daughter, those are the real heroes. I agree with you, I feel we have the right to be there and I also know that the American public does not hear everything, it's unfortunate but it's the truth, I have spoken to many that have served in Iraq and all say the same thing, they feel that the US made the right decision by going in Iraq, they feel that things have improved much there and they are so proud to see the result of their sacrifice and they feel that the Iraqis appreciate them much too, I've heard these statements over and over, it's overwhelming... all I can say is thank you so much to our heroes!:smile2: God bless them! -
Susan, I'm very sorry for what you are going through, which none of it was your fault at all, I've gone through a similar situation in the past and it's terrible, you are 100% right about EVERYTHING you said. I don't believe that anyone in the right mind would put him/herself in that situation on purpose, even if one makes a bad decision at some point, everyone makes mistakes and it is still unintentional, and I think we must be compassionate, you know, we never know when it's going to happen to us, it can happen to anyone. I really hope things get better for you and your family, hanging in there.

Oh yes, you must see it so closely working in a hospital...that's exactly right, you know I think that some people believe that in Karl Marx’s utopic communist system that this is actually a good idea. We have issues with the government running the DMV , imagine them running our health care decisions. I'd like to say to the people that are for government run health care to imagine W. Bush running their health care plan.... would they like that? Sure, as much as I would like Obama running it... There is so much I could say about public health care, been there, done that, lived under it for almost 15 years, particularly under one that Michael Moore portraits in his movie as being one of the best health care systems in the world....the biggest lie ever said and total BS.
-
A disgrace indeed, I saw it and I wanted to cry, how sad, frankly I would've never imagined that I would see with my own eyes something like that happen in this country, there was one home where they took it away from this older lady and she kept saying that she needed it becuase they have already tried to break into her house a couple of times and she was old and she lived alone and she feared for her life, in response the police threatened her and pretty much took it from her by force.
-
OMG I couldn't agree more! on everything! I'm concerned with public health care, that scares me.

I'm most definitely for the right to own a gun, even though I don't own one... although in this case I have mixed feelings.... because I despise what the robbers were doing and they deserved punishment and not getting away with it, but I don't know if they deserved death... I don't think Horn should've aimed to kill them, in fact I don't think Horn should've aimed at all, not even get out of his house, I think he should've followed the 911 operator's instructions and that's it. But since he was already out and he felt his life was in danger as he claimed, and he felt he had to defend himself, then I think he should've aimed at their legs instead of just killing them. I personally wouldn't have done it, firstly it's not my house, it's the neighbor's house being robbed, no one was in that house, therefore no one was in danger, if someone was in danger even at the neighbor's house, then I can understand, but take the law in my own hands and kill someone over a piece of stolen property? I don't think is my job to do that, if someone broke into my house, then that's a different story, I would not hesitate to shoot if I owned a gun, since my children's lives would be in danger. However I believe that Texas's law says that you are allowed to use deadly force in order to protect your property, so under those circumstances I suppose the veredict is appropriate.

Absolutely hate it when people do that.... I work in the insurance industry and my customers are agents and I talk to them very often and since I've been working here for 5+ years, many of them feel like we are friends... but really we are not, they are simply clients....and sometimes they go on and on with their out of line comments, I won't say all of them, some are very nice, but some are rude, mean and racists, it's so hard to stay quiet, I have actually said something back a couple of times in these 5 years... but not as much as I wanted to say... and most of the times I just get myself out of the conversation, change the subject, or will say that I will call them back, I'll just do anything to stop the conversation, I've had a couple that said derogatory comments about gay people and I always wondered, do they even know if I'm gay or straight? a lot of them don't know that I'm married or anything about my private life.... so do they not think before they open their big mouths? I've had customers before using the n-word... actually in previous jobs, in my present job only one of my bosses had used it a couple of times, I have no respect for him at all, non whatsoever and I have one particular client that hates jewish people and she is always using derrogatory words about them, I have never met this woman in person, but we have talked on the phone plenty of times, yet she doesn't know where I'm from, if I may be related in any way to a jewish person, you've got to have some nerve... really.... this was the woman that I did answer back a couple of times because she did it every time we spoke, she still does it, but less..... I wish I had some good advise, but if they are customers there is not much you can do other than stop the conversation as soon as you can. Some people can be stupid and ignorant.:tt1: -
Hi Plain, I must clarify....I would'nt say that I "support" Ron Paul... I felt attracted to some of his tax reform proposal, but let me specify that I only like some of his ideas, not all, the idea of low taxes overall I like, limited government, letting younger people opt out of social security and medicare and concentrating on those that must be really dependent I find a pretty good idea, I liked the concept behind his idea of eliminating the federal reserve, I know that's "a bit" radical...., and I realize that these ideas could be unrealistic as you said, but you can't say I didn't warn you..... I can be a little financially clueless sometimes.. so you are probably right...but I admit that some of his ideas sound good to me, at least theoretically, when I heard them I kind of felt like he actually gets it... but please please, PLEASE, ONLY in that way, the financial way... I don't agree with his idea of reducing the military AT ALL. and his views on foreign policies are CRAZY! and for that alone I could never vote for him, I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again, if I had to choose between a strong domestic policies or a strong foreign policies candidate, I'm going with the strong foreign policies any day... BTW Plain, when you said.... " No, of course it's not right. I only posted that because so many (mostly liberal) people want to skewer Bush for "meddling in other countries governments". Of course it's not right.....but Bush wasn't the first prez to do it." I knew what you meant, that's why when I agreed with BJean in my previous post, I added "crap happens" at the end of my comment... by my poor choice of those two words I meant that although it's not right, it happens... and not just to W Bush..., so I hear you and I agree with you. BJ, I think I'm hurt by you saying that my powers of reason and logic astound you... does that mean you think I'm crazy?:frown: hehehe... ok, you don't have to answer that.... I'm sorry again for such a long post.... before and now....

who supports right to choose
ELENATION replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I refuse to debate the abortion part of this thread, I just can't, I'm horrible debating it...but I'm answering to the political part... and I have to say that McCain said he will not work to change the republican party's call for a constitutional amendment banning abortions and I'm not saying I agree with him, I'm just stating what his position is. -
OK, I haven't been on line for a couple of days, so I apologize for this long post... I do agree that Bush's people will leave when he leaves office, I couldn't imagine anyone staying, but maybe I'm wrong, why do you think this won't happen BJ? I'm just curious, maybe I haven't figured the whole thing out right... I don't think it's fair when people say how crazy Bush was for saying that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, well the truth is that Clinton said that he was absolutely convinced given his years in the White House and the access to privileged information that he had, that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction until the end of the Saddam regime and that was his opinion as well before Bush took over, and many others claimed the same thing, so it's not like W.Bush woke up one day and just decided that they had the weapons and that he was in the mood to attack Iraq , The majority of the senate approved the intervention in Iraq, if indeed Hussein didn't have the weapons, at least we prevented him from getting these weapons and either using them himself or passing them to terrorists, because we all know he would've done it and there were also evidence that Hussein was connected with Al Qeida in other ways, I mean Hussein is definitely better dead than alive for the sake of Iraqis and the rest of the world and so IMOH that was a valid reason to go to war, I know that if I tried to explain this to someone who has lost a loved one in the Iraq war, my words may not make a difference to them and I completely understand and I don't blame them, I won't argue with that and my heart goes out to them, but from a general point of view, this is the way I see it and I know that I'm not the only one who agrees with this. The majority of soldiers also agree it wouldnt take 3 seconds for total restoration of Iraq, most soldiers that have serviced are happy with the work they have done and that they continue doing , they are so proud, and they believe it was worth it and they see the improvements , most don't feel it was a nonsense war or that it's a lost war, who would know better than them? They are there, they see all in details, they should know better than we do.... Of course mistakes have been made with the war, it's a war for Pete's sake, did anyone think it would all be perfect and we would handle everything flawless all the time? hey Hussein is not killing their own people anymore after-all...that alone a very good thing. The majority of Iraqis are indeed grateful that the US liberated their country from a dictator murderer like Hussein, I have talked to so many americans that have served in Iraq and they all have told me that Iraqis are overwhelmed over the sacrifices that the Americans have done for them and their country and are extremely grateful, and their lives have indeed improved, I know that their infrastructure is not running great yet, that's why we need to stay there until the work is done, I know that the war has come at a high price in many levels, but did those who voted for the war think it was going to be some kind of a quick and easy task? I mean, did anyone at all thought it was going to be easy? I also don't agree when some people say that they were lied to, so congress and senate were lied to and given some false info and these “inept and inexperienced” senators just believed it without giving it a second thought because they were so naïve... yeah right.. and because we have such an evil president along with a bunch of evil people in the white house that were able to lie to them and con them all...nah, don't think so, plus I hear all the time from most democrats that W.Bush is so stupid and a moron , so Bush couldn't possibly be smart enough to con so many people could he?….that would make no sense and it'd be contradictory. I mean, 19 million people were liberated, was that not a good reason to intervene? I know, some people think we didn’t care at all for their people, but for the oil, well, I disagree, I guess I do have faith in our leaders, our government and the greatness of our country, call me a hopeless openhearted trustful girl…:biggrin2: McCain said that he was in favor of pay equity for women, only this particular legislation opened us up to lawsuits for all kinds of problems, he also said that there are better ways to help women find better paying jobs by providing education and training, but if you take out of context what he said, then of course it’s going to sound harsh or wrong. McCain employed a total of 69 people during the period ending in the the fall of 2007. Of the non-intern employees, 30 were women and 16 were men. After excluding the interns, the average pay for the 30 women on McCain's staff was $59K. The 16 non-intern males in McCain's office by comparison, were paid an average of $56K. The average pay for the 33 men on Obama's staff who earned more than $23,000 (the lowest annual salary paid for non-intern employees) was $59K. The average pay for the 31 women on Obama's staff who earned more than $23,000 per year was $48K. The average pay for all 36 male employees on Obama's staff was $55K and the average pay for all 31 female employees was $48K and this is according to data calculated from the report of the secretary of the Senate Maybe female staffers on Obama's campaign are less qualified or less trained than the male staffers……or is Obama discriminating against his female staffers? :sad:You know, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and go with the first… Republicans and Democrats have done the opposite of what they tell us they want , this has been the case often in history, nothing new... for either party…part of it is just the political game. Although I believe that some had the intentions of doing what they promised, but simply couldn't, others probably lied, but we can't single republicans out. I’m pretty much convinced that Obama is just like any other politician, only not as experienced and maybe because he hasn't been around that long, it gives the impression that he is not the typical politician… As far as the economy, I think he plans to return to the failed policies of high taxation with an expansion of government spending. I think not only he would increase the capital gains tax rate but also he wants to allow the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts to expire in 2010, which for sure will raise taxes on americans by probably billions of dollars, and that wouldn't be good. BJ, when you asked why would we want to keep this people in the white house, well I honestly don't think it's going to be any better if Obama is president. I don't believe he will be able to keep his promises without having even worse consequences for our country, maybe he does have good intentions ???:confused2: but frankly when I listen to him I feel that is saying absolutely nothing but just saying it very well... and so people feel a sense of hope, but many of his proposals sound unrealistic to me, and I think that they could make our economy even worse. OK, don't shoot me! I come in peace... no offense to any Obama supporter. If I had to pick a candidate for the presidency based on the country’s financial issues alone, I’d probably pick Ron Paul, I mean he actually studied economics and it’s what drove him to politics. I think he realized that the government cannot legislate away the laws of supply and demand, but please take this with a grain of salt, finances isn’t one of my strengths , plus I wouldn’t vote for Ron Paul based on other issues… And btw, I also think Obama will start getting to the center, and I don’t call it a sell out, it’s just being a politician, after all if one doesn’t behave like a politician, can they become one? So I will cut him some slack there too… BJ, I agree that just because JFK screwed up Bay of Pigs, that doesn’t mean it’s ok if another president does it, it’s still wrong of course, crap happens though…. OK guys, gotta go, you all have a HAPPY AND SAFE 4TH!!!!!!!! and yes,i will miss the debate since I never go on line during the weekend..

Oh Watcher, after reading this post, I can only say.... I love you! Thank you for your explanation, please know that we may not agree on every issue, but we do agree on others, and what you said in this post about experience I also agree for the most part and you said it very eloquently. And when you said..... I would run but i wouldn't vote for me .... "i have a very hard line stance of how to deal with our enemies ... that really make me glad that i will never be president. shoot elect me .. and ill add a few stars to the flag." That's when I fell in love....:smile2::biggrin::biggrin2: -

Are We ready for a Black President?
ELENATION replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey, FYI,your comment about the sour taste in your mouth , not needed, I specifically said that I was just making a point about the Kennedy's and it has nothing to do with Obama, I was just sharing a little of my history with BJean, I particularly like Obama much better than any Kennedy. I think I said that too. YOu think that nothing could prepare one for the presidency of this country? seriously? then why don't you and I run? I'm sure that even as inexperienced as we are , we could do a perfectly good job!! funny.... experience is definitely not the only factor that we must consider, but it is indeed one of the factors, that is my opinion and the opinion of many americans, so I don't think it should be disregarded completely as you said. You can do that if you want but let's face not everyone feels like you. Hey I respect your opinions and your views, I really do, but just because they are your views and you may feel strong about them doesn't mean they are all accurate and that we will all sit here and believe them as if they were the gospel and just agree with you and stop debating... I don't think that's going to happen, as you said it yourself, you are not going to change anyones mind either, debate has been good...., frankly I don't agree with half of what you say and that should be ok shouldn't it? , or am I blind as the GOP and religious extremists because I can't completely agree with you? Let's agree to disagree. Peace and Love right back at ya! -
LOL! You had me laughing with the way you say somethings too!:frown: I know that when I feel very passionate about something I sound like an extremist:crying: and I don't blame you for thinking that, sometimes I have to re-examine myself...gee..... but no, I'm not really an extremist, like abortion, no I don't like or want abortion, only in cases like rape, incest or if a life is at risk, so that makes me pro-life or against abortion, but that doesn't mean that I don't listen to someone that is pro choice and that they have many valid points and I hate, HATE the abortion discussion because it's so hard for me, I end up feeling bad for everyone involved and I feel that nobody wins, so everytime I get involved in an abortion debate I end up running out of words and not knowing what to say anymore, then I think, well, maybe my own arguments are not strong enough, but when I think about it all over again, then I still end up feeling the same way... I know weird.... When it comes to politics, I'm not sure if I sound extremist, but I don't think I'm that bad... I can usually discuss it with others peacefully ,I have democrat friends, co workers and we joke about it and talk about it no problem... sure I get passionate and all, but it's not horrible... BTW, thank you for telling more about yourself, I can now understand where you are coming from more, plus I like learning more about you! very interesting too! I also admit that I followed my parents, specially my dad's political views religiously for a while, then after my dad passed away I started looking into it with a more opened mind, I can tell you that I don't think either party is perfect or even close to it and sometimes I feel like giving up and totally agreeing with Jack and agreeing that it doesn't really matter who's president, let me tell you, he has a good point....seriously, but I guess deep inside I can't truly agree with it. It's only recently and I mean the past few years that I've paid closer attention to the Congress being on the same party or the opposite and I will agree with you, it does make a difference, I don't know if it's a huge difference though, but worth to recognize it at least. Growing up in a communist country had a huge influence in the way I feel politically, I feel very strong on foreing policies, stronger than domestic policies, not that I don't care about our domestic issues, of course I do, but if I absolutely had to choose, I go with a strong foreign policy, the good thing though is that I don't have to choose:biggrin: I'm so glad I live in America! After some soul searching and some more researching I still came back to my roots... and I'm a republican, I know that from the democrat's point of view, I'm not the typical republican...an immigrant, came here with nothing, went from poor to just middle class, working very hard, I'm far from being wealthy, being hispanic I obviously belong to a minority group, I got a taste of the immigration laws/system twice, when I came here and when I brought my mother here 13 years later, you would think that I should have a lighter view on illegal immigration.... but I don't, it took me 14 years to make it here, even with my father being an american citizen and a WWII veteran.. and then it took me 13 years to bring my mom, but both times legally, actually I think I've been the "less fortunate" for a while, even though I consider myself so fortunate just to be able to live here today and for the fact that my children were born here, The thing is that in my opinion when democrats say that the republicans are for the rich for instance, now a days I believe this is an idealistic argument, I've seen the rich get richer under both administrations, I remember during the Clinton's administration those high tech stocks made lots of new billionaires, CEO compensation was upward far faster than rank and file salaries during the Clinton era... I'm thinking back in the early 80's one of my first jobs was in banking and the economy was just so horrible after Carter, I won't blame it all on him, but much I do... at least from my perception, I say this humbly because I'm no financial expert. I can say that Bush has made mistakes about the war, I think he could have used a different tone or a different rhetoric because many view him as the guy really anxious for war in Iraq, but I honestly believe his intentions were good, there, I said it, ok, please everyone now step back, don't shoot! I think that he does get blamed for every single thing going wrong in the country, but like I said before, no president has ever been perfect. I don't like war, only when absolutely necessary which I think sometimes war is the only answer unfortunately... but we are in Iraq nowand I feel that we need to finish and win it. I don't feel too comfortable in taking a chance with an inexperience candidate, I can't even put it into words why... but I just feel that there is too much too risk, specially with our foreign policies, then again for the democrats who are so unhappy now, taking a chance seems like a good thing and I can see where there are coming from, maybe if it was the other way around I would feel the same way, who knows...:confused2: Ok, I have to go... BJ, I also respect your viewpoint!.. and appreciate our debate very much, I'm not as good as you:confused_smile:, but I'm learning more from our discussions.
-
LOL! I take it as a compliment because I always think I'm not opinionated enough... so I'm glad you think I am! My dad was indeed a strong man, much stronger than I am for sure.... and the kids, well, sure they claim to be republican... I've brain washed them...:bored: but you know, it's cool how they both have their own individual thinking and they are not afraid of expressing it out loud, my oldest tends to be more conservative while my youngest is more liberal, sometimes they argue about gay rights, the environment, my baby is always standing up for every minority group..:thumbup:I like listening to them, it's interesting and a little funny and I try to stay out of it, most of the times.... Agree about Reagan, I fully understand that it would be very hard to endorse anyone from the opposite party when you feel so strong about yours. And I'm glad that age wouldn't be the reason why you wouldn't vote for a candidate, I already knew that though about you. About the Supreme Court rulings, yes, for the most part I'm happy with the decisions, I remember when I was reading about it there were a couple of issues that I didn't agree with completely, but frankly right now I don't remember what it was..., I'm conservative, but that doesn't mean I'm a fanatic of anything or that I don't think outside the box, I can be open minded and listen... but I know that most liberals think that way about conservatives.. I think that's why I usually say I'm conservative, but not ultra conservative, it's my way of saying I'm not an extremist, but at the same time I'm not calling ultra conservatives extremists... I guess I don't know what the heck I'm saying anymore.. I think I'm showing signs of my own insecurities...

Are We ready for a Black President?
ELENATION replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'll add yet another:rolleyes2: two cents here... Just because in the past we may have had experienced presidents who you may think didn't do a good job ,it doesn't mean we need to go the total opposite now and get an inexperienced one thinking that it'll be ok... I still think experience is a good thing, of course the character and so many other factors need to be considered, but experience is a plus nonetheless. Republicans may not like the Kennedy's, well sure, they are republicans..:bored: but I personaly know a few democrats that don't like the Kennedy's, their reputation has not been the best for some of them... I was actually talking to a friend from NY who is a die hard democrat who told me that she couldn't feel bad about Ted's illness, (I know, pretty mean...)I thought that was pretty cruel to say and I questioned her and she gave me a long explanation why, which of course were things that I already knew and I can understand where she was coming from, but personally I do feel bad for him, as much as I may not agree with his views, I sincerely hope he gets well, in a moment like this,I think we must be compassionate no matter what , but my point is that she is a big time democrat who despises the Kennedys. I, like many cubans were left with this sour taste in our mouths from JFK..., JFK who was working on the plan to use anti-communist cubans to invade Cuba in order to overthrow Castro's government, well Bay of Pigs invasion ended in a big failure because JFK failed to provide the military support that he had promised, most of the cuban exiles were either killed or captured in Cuba and died in prison tortured and under horrible conditions, some are still alive in prison, unbelievable.. another consequence was that the former Soviet Union saw Kennedy as weak leader and thought they could get away with installing nuclear weapons in Cuba , sure the cuban missile crisis did some to restore Kennedy's reputation regarding this matter, maybe in general, but for Cubans, it was a huge loss and to this day they haven't forgotten, I know, I know.... you guys probably don't care about my "cuban" story and you may think I'm being irrelevant here, sorry but I just wanted to make my point about the beef most cubans have towards JFK in case you didn't know.. anywho, to me is not the greatest thing that the Kennedy's are backing Obama, really... as a republican I like Obama much better than any Kennedy:thumbup: -
Completely agree with BJ! I'm impressed Ebrow! good for you! the fact that you are voting for McCain is a bonus for me:wink:, but knowing that you are very young and voting is just great! I'm with BJ, I think my father would've disowned me if I didn't vote...even though he wasn't a politician...but he was a WWII veteran and so very proud of this country and grateful for having the right to vote... I've raised my kids the same way, they are 14 and 16 and they can't wait to vote!
