Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cursing: I hope you have a great day and many to come! I hear you..... hubby was insisting in buying the Wii for our daughters, they are teenagers.... we have talked about it with them before and they said they liked it , but it wasn't on the top of their list.... they wanted clothes, shoes and other gadgets better.... this was last year, he kept insisting that he wanted to buy it for them, that they were going to love it, bla, bla, I kept telling him, they really don't want it right now, he even went as far as saying, "oh, they really don't know what they want.. I want to get it for them" hello? I kept telling not now.... well, for Christmas, during his lunch time, he went and bought it anyway.... of course we argued, he insisted that they will be thrilled, bla, bla.... so I still got the girls everything else they wanted, and of course they got the Wii.... well, as expected, they've played a couple of times only since Christmas, they were grateful, but I knew that's not what they really wanted... well, guess who plays ALL the time? hubby does! I'm talking on a daily basis! by himself!...he begs them to play with him and most of the times they don't even want to.... of course he loves the darn thing.... all along I knew he wanted it for him.....men! Now you're stuck with the thing.... I hope that you can use it very soon... I'm sorry.

I know it! Just imagine if every leader of every country in the world would say this and stood by this.....hey, we wouldn't have much to argue about, it's a good thing! it baffles me how some immigrants feel that the US, or any other country is not doing enough for them, is not adapting to their different languages, religions, and everything else... I find that very disrespectful and unacceptable... and I'm saying this from an immigrant's point of view...
-
Hey, I thought it was very good too! some guy with balls! don't see many of those these days..... I think I want to live there! but I promise you, I will adapt darn it!
-
Oh no Whee! if I didn't know better, I wouldn't think you are a democrat! you know..., more for the poor, less for the rich...or the rest....:hurray: which in my opinion it is a very ridiculous and innacurate label that some have given the republicans... but that's a whole different story/thread.... Hey, I agree with you! This rebate does feel like a penalty for some...specially for the ones that have tried the hardest on their education, etc... also, I don't think that those who didn't contribute should get a rebate... I know many will appreciate the money/help and for that I'm happy, nothing wrong with helping...but really... that doesn't seem fair either to the tax payers.....

Smart from your part... specially after the crap, lies, and plain stupidities that I read here sometimes.... -
Completely agree.
-
McCain is mentally unstable? how's that?
-
Well, I agree with some of what you said, but not all...., democrats and liberals will have your same point of view, but republicans and convervatives won't... in fact most will totally disagree with your point... so it depends on the source, it's a matter of opinion... I as most republicans, disagree with most of Hillary's and Obama's views...and there are plenty of republicans in the US..... I enjoy reading your posts greatly Green! always interesting!

Condoleezza Rice for vice president 2008 Town Hall ^ | 1/30/08 | Town Hall/Rusher Posted on 01/30/2008 11:09:19 AM PST by OPS4 At the Mackinac Island Conference we began Plan B: Promoting her as a VP. This strategy cut down on our costs significantly, and was more appealing to those who already had a favorite for Pres. Mr. Rusher explained the demographic aspect of the idea: appealing to black voters and female voters. These two blocks are DNC strongholds. This is a good idea strategically, BUT we need to focus on what she has done under the Bush presidencies (both 41 and 43). *As an expert on Russian affairs, she was able to stand up to Yeltsin and build relations with Putin. * As the face of the US to the outside world, she was the one person who countries who didn't like Bush would deal with. * She was able to convince North Korea to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons and come to a bargaining table. (This is a country that considered nukes a "birth right".) * She is a vehement defender of the War on Terror. This is very important. Despite the moonbattery and protests about the war, she was able to articulate time and time again why we are there. Anyone who can handle both Yeltsin and Barbara Boxer is one tough cookie. She would always relay the good news in Iraq development (including the new hospital built in Baghdad.) The new infrastructure developed in the peaceful Iraqi provinces have Dr. Rice's stamp of approval.( For a full view of the progress in iraq, see Iraqcoalition.org: Homepage of The New Iraq.) Progress has been slow, but steady. Some in the Military are predicting more troops coming home as soon as this year. Many naysayers, in the GOP, say we should avoid any connection to Bush 43 at all costs. I say Bush did what was necessary, and the work is not done yet. We need to have some sort of carryover into the new administration to ensure a smooth transition both at home and abroad. Anyone who says Condi supporters are racist and sexist are dead wrong. We are realists. We support Dr. Rice not because of her immutable characteristics, but because of her strength and leaadership. Come and join us. Fluent in Russian, she holds a Ph.D. in international studies and is an expert in Soviet military affairs. Not a bad résumé item in an era when Vladimir Putin is so busy flexing his muscles that he can't seem to keep his shirt on. A former provost of Stanford University, she also served as national security adviser during Bush's first term. Since becoming secretary of state, she's busied herself trying to advance democracies in the Middle East and, recently, getting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to sit down together. Washington, says an internal poll by Zogby International found that 41 percent of Republicans thought Rice would bring "excitement" to the presidential ticket. This could be a way to blow both dem front runners out, McCain/Rice 2008, what's your opinion

Well, and I agree with you Gadget, because actually for me sleeping with whoever you want maybe for the fun of it and practicing this kind of behavior is actually NOT normal..and it's a flaw of character, I just can't see it any other way, and by saying this, I'm not saying that I'm perfect or that I live a perfect life at all, but I do admit that we human beings can be flawed and impure and we can make the world that way.., I personally could go on about my flaws... it's just a fact.:frown: -

ELENATION replied to kagoscuba's topic in Rants & Raves
Hhhhmmmm, well I disagree, we can agree to that! When you said.... "I'm not advocating that you climb a mountain in the Himalayas and meditate" I couldn't help but laugh because that's exactly what I was getting from what you were saying.... only I was thinking that while meditating I should smoke a big joint in order to process those thoughts the way you do.... otherwise I didn't get it... and I also don't mean that disrespectful, I just thought it was funny you said that, and I also don't do drugs, it was a figure of speech... Anyway...obviously God is out of your picture and inside mine... so that alone makes our reasoning very different...that I totally understand, I think that a perfect balanced universe was created, but the evilness of some humans has made it imperfect, flawed and out of balance, and we have done that because we have free will , not because we were created/born evil, but because we have made our own wrong choices at times, and I wouldn't say all of course, natural disasters among other things have not been provoked by us, but some ,if not a lot of the world's chaos and when I say world I'm referring to the planet earth..I think is indeed created by ourselves... and well, the earth is part of the universe.... Ok, I must stop now, I feel like I need to meditate all of a sudden...LOL!:frown: -
Good morning there! I got this joke today and I thought I'd make you laugh a little bit.... at least my fellow republicans.... Hey, for the democrat jokesters, bring it on! and please I hope you do have a sense of humor, this is really a joke.. :hurray: HILLARY TALKS TO CHILDREN Hillary Clinton goes to a primary school in New York to talk about the world. After her talk she offers a question time. One little boy puts up his hand. The Senator asks him what his name is. "Kenneth." "And what is your question, Kenneth?" " I have three questions: "First - whatever happened to the medical health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years in the office as President? "Second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office? "Third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House?" Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary Clinton informs the kids that they will continue after recess. When they resume, Hillary says, "Okay, where were we? Oh, that's right, question time. Who has a question?" A different little boy puts his hand up. Hillary points him out and asks him what his name is. "Larry." "And what is your question, Larry?" "I have five questions: "First - whatever happened to the medical health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years in the office as President? "Second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office? "Third -whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House? "Fourth - why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? "Fifth -Where's Kenneth?

Poll - Democrat or Republican?
ELENATION replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't know why anybody would be embarrassed to admit that they are republicans.... really...I'm proud to be a Republican, beyond proud... and I have been since I was a kid growing up... it's great to vote for the "man"... but for me ,if the choice was a democratic man only, I wouldn't vote at all... gee, my bold radical statements show that I'm deinitely not embarrassed to be a republican.... and you know BJean, I agree with you, I like when people are straight forward about the way they feel... I really like that..:rolleyes2: -

The bitch slapping the Clintons that Obama has done is the only thing I like about Obama, but for that I'm grateful to him!:cool2: -
My beef with good ole Ron...? hhhmmm He's just too old and not good looking enough.....:rolleyes2: just kidding.... No, seriously... There are a few things that I don't agree with him on... My number one is that he voted to end restrictions (embargo) on Cuba...(this one is close to my heart...) THen he is against death penalty, he voted against the Patriot Act.. He has said things like " Suicide terrorism will end when we stop intervening abroad" yeah right... like tha'ts exactly the reason why those crazy bastards engage in suicide terrorism, or terrorism at all... he is also all for fighting terrorism by "understanding their motivations" and dialogue... he thinks that's the right approach... I totally disagree with that... I don't believe in negotiating or talking to terrorists...period... and whatever their motivitions are, they are simply wrong and in my opinion there is nothing to discuss, they need to be eliminated and erradicated...I think that terrorists are just daring to point a gun a the police and they don't expect to be shot back at....well, I think that's crazy...he's said that radicals want to kill us because we invade their lands.. WTF? I 100% percent disagree with that as well.. he has said that the US has not moral authority for US sanctions in Darfur and that we also have no business monitoring the end of slavery in Sudan I definitely think we do have the moral authority... So this is my beef with the man.... I think he should be running under the democrat party....

Very good post Laurend:biggrin:

Well, thank you, I certainly don't like all republicans, Nixon, Huckabee, Ron Paul just to name a few... and I certainly don't like any Democratic Presidents at least since I was born...1962 that is... and I can go far beyond that...but certainly there are exceptions... and when I say I don't like any democrats I'm referring to Democratic Presidents... :rolleyes2:
-
Hi Jennie, I agree with you on the Romney part... I like him...don't care for Huckabee, I'm not well informed as to the democrats being better campaigners, but it that's the case, then I refuse to believe that the republicans have won on luck... if they actually are not such good campaigners and can still win... I'd say that pretty darn good and ultimately the people's choice, I say they must be good... imagine what they could do if they campaigned better then! I'm staying positive.:rolleyes2:
