And I never said that she or anybody did not have the right to say so... I'm glad we agree on that.

Re-read your posts..... you really can't handle other people disagreeing with you without you attacking..., which you call "biting back".... I can stomach a lot, I think I've proven it already...., I just wanted to point out to you how sarcastic you are.... maybe you haven't t realized it? ....I wish I would've known you when you used to use to debate in a "good way", that must have been refreshing to say the least.. besides, why letting a right winger change how you really are?? I know that I'm not about to be a a jerk with other people just because someone got on my nerve... and frankly, I don't really think you like me....:smile2:

When the truth is inconvenient . . .

I have gathered much information in the past on Global Warming and well...Al Gore... and I thought this was interesting.. One of the world's foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize "ridiculous" and the product of "people who don't understand how the atmosphere works". Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth. His comments came on the same day that the Nobel committee honoured Mr Gore for his work in support of the link between humans and global warming. "We're brainwashing our children," said Dr Gray, 78, a long-time professor at Colorado State University. "They're going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It's ridiculous." At his first appearance since the award was announced in Oslo, Mr Gore said: "We have to quickly find a way to change the world's consciousness about exactly what we're facing." Mr Gore shared the Nobel prize with the United Nations climate panel for their work in helping to galvanise international action against global warming. But Dr Gray, whose annual forecasts of the number of tropical storms and hurricanes are widely publicised, said a natural cycle of ocean Water temperatures - related to the amount of salt in ocean water - was responsible for the global warming that he acknowledges has taken place. However, he said, that same cycle meant a period of cooling would begin soon and last for several years. "We'll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realise how foolish it was," Dr Gray said. During his speech to a crowd of about 300 that included meteorology students and a host of professional meteorologists, Dr Gray also said those who had linked global warming to the increased number of hurricanes in recent years were in error. He cited statistics showing there were 101 hurricanes from 1900 to 1949, in a period of cooler global temperatures, compared to 83 from 1957 to 2006 when the earth warmed. "The human impact on the atmosphere is simply too small to have a major effect on global temperatures," Dr Gray said. He said his beliefs had made him an outsider in popular science. "It bothers me that my fellow scientists are not speaking out against something they know is wrong," he said. "But they also know that they'd never get any grants if they spoke out. I don't care about grants
  6. While I believe this is one step forward to democracy in Cuba, some day hopefully.... I don't think it will bring changes now... His brother who will be taking over, and is as evil as Castro, has lived his whole life in his brother's shadow, and the ministers and everyone else in the government will still be the same, so his brother is not going to do anything now that would jeopardize his own interests, now if Castro dies, then maybe he'll venture to try something different.... I don't believe someone as narcissistic as Castro will be absolutely removed from power, I know he will continue to be consulted. Bottom line is that real change has to come from the military....and Castro is the leader of the gang, and he has a bunch of auxiliary gang members who don't want to see change because they are "comfortable"... However, anything that can be done to help communism fall in Cuba is a good thing....I strongly support the hard line U.S. policies toward the cuban government. I say keep the U.S. embargo and now stronger than ever. Frankly, Cuba won't be truly free until Castro and the whole gang are all gone, really gone... Any country leader that respects himself/herself and his/her country will not be engaging in any conversations, agreements or cuddling with communist leaders, we don't need to sit down and talk to them to find out "why they don't like us" because that's pretty darn obvious... and that will never change, communists will never like us, terrorists will never like us, and we should never expect to reach agreements with them, they will never keep their word, it has been and will always be a waste of time and it only gives them confidence to plan their next move against the free world.

Castro steps down as Cuba?s president

I know Gadget, the president of Cuba? what a joke.... and now they nominated his brother for president.... another joke... and yes, it's sad how many people have been brainwashed, they know nothing but comunism...I hope that one day they can see the truth...

'08 - Who do you want?

Just curious where that poll was at? I can see that being true for the reason the Dems want the troops home and of course the families of the troops home also. I know most of the Marines I speek to don't care for what the Dems have been saying. The whole loosing the war comments and stuff like that. I can tell you from 1st hand knowledge and speeking to people here that things are definately WAY better than they were. Chris, I think the war has been won.

Oh I hear you, I would definitely opt to have preventive surgery. I'm 46 now and I don't think I would do reconstruction, but at 25, I think I'd give it a shot.. I know what you mean about the weight.... prosthesis are easier to manage with the weight gain or loss for sure...

    I need your support!

You know, I think I would've done the same, I agree with you.. And I think I would also do the preventive mastectomy like your daughter's friend, I'm so sorry about her mom... I think that if you do it planned , not only it will save you from having breast cancer but you can also do your reconstructive surgery and take your time and do it more calmly... but it has to be a difficult decision regardless, I just wish that the cure is found very soon.

Oh Suzanne, I'm so glad they caught it right on time and that you are ok, it would be just wonderful that they found a cure, the sooner the better! and I really hope it will happen before your daughter has to think about it. The advances are great, so I'm hopeful! Hugs, Elena:biggrin2:

When the truth is inconvenient . . .

Sorry Green, and believe me, I like you and respect you greatly and have told you before that I LOVE your debating style. but can't agree ..... I posted a list of things that I believe our president has done right, and it's pretty much the opposite of what you said in this post, but since you feel the way you feel about George Bush, I will expect that you wouldn't agree with that list or my ideas either, and I can understand that, we all see things from a different point of view and often the way we feel is related to our own personal experiences and background, I won't say that George Bush is perfect and has done everything perfectly and has never made a mistake, of course not, he is human, democrats and republicans have made plenty of mistakes in the past, but I do agree with many of his work while he has been in the White House, the green issue, he could've done more, maybe so, but many here in American are not too much into the green thing, at least not yet, others say they are, but don't practice it, many hypocrites preaching it and not practicing it, in any case, I think we will just have to agree to disagree...

'08 - Who do you want?

I almost seems as if I wrote your post myself, so I'll say this about myself.. No high blood pressure here.... so no need to try and run me of the thread, but thank you for your concern about my health.. I also can't stop speaking out when I feel is necessary, so we agree on that.. The democrat agenda is opposite from mine, at least for the most part, I don't think is possible to agree on absolutely everything with a particular party... in my opinion, it's almost stupid.... I'd like to think that even evil people have their moments of goodness.... I also think that's what R&R is here for, and to prove it , that's why I"m here often! Of course I'm glad that we all can be outspoken about the way we feel about our country and our government, who wouldn't? And last but not least, you nailed it when you said, if you had an understanding of my personal background and experiences, you would know exactly my need to express myself the way I do and why I feel the way I do on these issues as well... I feel the same way and btw, I have never questioned your need to express yourself here, not at all. And I'm not offended. Actually most of the topics here create interesting debates.

When the truth is inconvenient . . .

Hey, that came across insulting, but I'm used to it, so no worries... I'm completely aware how Bush has been handling the enviromental issues, and I admit I'm not big on this issue, so what he has done or not done doesn't affect me much, but it has nothing to do with being a republican or that I feel this way because Bush has done or not done enough, if I feel strong enough on a subject, I couldn't care less what Bush or anybody else says for that matter, I used to live under a system where they tried to brainwash me for many years and I didn't fall for it, so neither BUsh, nor Obama or whoever comes out strong on something, will convince me to think or feel certain way..., I'm not kidding myself, believe me.. Many out there that claim that they are doing so much for the enviroment are simply not doing anything and are hypocrites... and of course, I'm sure there are some honest people around as well.. To say that the entire party stands against it is unfair, but that's your opinion.. Ah Fox Network... my favorite.... are you surprised?

Oh BJean, when it comes to politics you are vicious baby! what am I going to do with you:confused2: I would like to see that ticket, and as far as bringing up anti-Condi adds? that could be done to just about any of the candidates... last election they had some serious fun with Kerry and Edwards.... they can do that to both parties... so chill out with the republicans now...

When the truth is inconvenient . . .

"Except for one thing. Someone asked a retorical question but one I'd like to answer: You can bet your sweet patooty that if it were George W. Bush who was on the green bandwagon that those who are critical here of Al Gore's efforts would be supporting environmental issues right along with Dubya. But how likely is it for the wealthy to be interested in being "inconvenienced" with issues like these? I know I don't need to bother answering that question." Sorry BJean.... and I hope I understood the above comment correctly, I apologize in advance if I missunderstood you, but there are plenty or wealthy people that are "interested" in being inconvenienced with these issues, just look at the many wealthy celebrities... not that they live by what they preach, but the "act" interested... In my particular case, I do care about the enviroment and contribute to the cause in a moderate way, but if President Bush was a "green freak", I promise you that it would not change how I feel about the issue and would not make me do any more or less about it, I like and agree with President Bush because obviously I'm a republican and he stands for most of the same things that I stand for, but I don't blindly follow anybody's ideas or views... which means that I don't have to agree with absolutely everything that Beorge Bush or any President says or does, I have my own brain....make my own conclusions, decisions, etc...

When the truth is inconvenient . . .

Oh Gadget Thank you so much for posting this. I have learned so much about Al Gore and his hypocrisy on the enviromental issue that frankly it didn't surprise me...I must say it's not just Al Gore, but many of the celebrities that claim to be "green" and are constantly doing the opposite, it's ridiculous.... and it doesn't surprise me either that our President's enviromental friendly home or efforts are not mentioned....you know, anything positive that George Bush does will never air, he will never be credited.... and absolutely every single thing that may go wrong in our country and even abroad, well...it's his fault... however, I do admire how strong and graceful he has been throughout the years while the bashing was going on, I think he has handle it with a lot of dignity....I'm sorry, I'm rambling on but it just gets to me...Thanks again!
