    ITCHING

I have also been itchy on my hands and feet and by my neck. I have been using Alegre D cream which has helped. I am getting about 64-80 ounces of water so I know I’m hydrated. I have been reading that being low in b-5 causes itchy hands and burning itchy feet sensation so I’m thinking of getting the B-50 vitamins in the store on site. Good luck! I know this is driving me crazy. I’m down 14 pds and surgery date was 12/312019.
  2. Mine was 12/31 and have lost 14 pds. since then. Today I started light weights. I’m really happy with my progress and should be back to work in another week.

    Low BMI 2018/2019

I was banded in 2016 at that time I was about 220 pds and started having issues even with air all let out in 12/2018. Insurance had approved to remove band however I did want to wait and make sure that’s what I wanted. Over this past summer is when I decided to have my band removed and switched to the sleeve. My doctor wrote a letter of necessity to my insurance and it was approved. My lowest with band was 165 and at my surgery date on 12/31/2019 I was 183. I’m currently diabetic but off meds as instructed by my doctor. I’ve heard sometimes the surgery doesn’t work for everybody. . I also love wine but I do plan on doing everything by the book and cutting most of the carbs out. I had tried Keto but I think I gained weight instead of losing and I also ended up with my cholesterol a little high. Hope you find something that works for you.

    Low BMI 2018/2019

My insurance approved and I had my reversal done on 12/31. Right now managing my pain with what the doctors prescribed and looking forward to see how my body will change in the next few weeks.

    Post OP Pain

Congrats on your surgery! I also had my reversal from band to sleeve on 12/31/2019. My doctor gave me liquid hydrocodone with Tylenol. I stayed two nights in the hospital and was released to go home today. I have only taken my meds twice today. My pain only hurts when I get up and feel a little heaviness In my midsection and it definitely hurts where my port used to be. I’m using my binder and it is helping keep the inflammation down. My nurses said within a few days the pain will subside and I know I’m looking forward to that. Best of luck on your journey!

    Letter approval

I am having revision and my Doc wrote a letter of exception. I didn’t have to go through six month nutrition classes. I am low bmi of 33, 5’1 at 183.6 pds. Bcbs called to tell me I was approved for 1 night stay and so excited to finally get this band removed and switched to the sleeve. My insurance was like, we approved it but what’s your weight and are you still diabetic? Which I am but you would think they can see my history since they are my insurance... I had so many complications with the band. My surgery date is 12/31, so crazy but so happy that I will start the new year on the right foot.
  7. I was just approved through insurance to revise from band to sleeve and have a low BMI of 32, I weigh 182 and I’m 5’1. My doctor wrote a letter to insurance so I could get approved without having to go through all the nutrition classes. I do have type 2 diabetes but my doctor didn’t include this in the letter. I was approved last year to have the band removed but decided to wait. I have had a lot of issues with the band, like food is always getting stuck and throwing up about 3 times a week and that is with all the fluid being released last December. I also get pain at the port site and a burning sensation. My surgery date is on 12/31 and my pre-op is in 10 days. With the band it was great the first year but these last two years have been horrible. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey.

Hi Nadia, Saw your stats and I’m exactly where you were at with 32 BMI and 182 when you started. I’m waiting on insurance approval, my nurse advocate says it should come in 2-4 wks. I Just wanted to say your doing great! Hope you reach your goal weight.
