I didn't start having problems with my weight until college. I experienced a traumatic event as a teenager that caused me to develop PTSD. Unfortunately, this led me to overeat as I ate to cope with my feelings and literally every issue I had in life. A few years ago, I finally started receiving adequate help for my trauma. However, despite this, I still had problems with food. It seems no matter what I did, I never felt full, which made diets very difficult for me to stick to. So here we are. Coming to this decision was by no means easy, but I feel that this is the best decision I can make for my health. I can't keep living with pre-diabetes, constant pain from carrying excess weight, and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). I began my journey in May (of 2019) and am scheduled for either next month or January for surgery! I can't believe it's almost here. Only two more appointments and then everything gets submitted to insurance for finalization.
