Lucky Friday the 13th!
Camel_Cracker replied to JRT Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm already getting butterflies in my stomach... like when you're on a roller coaster... right at the top of the hill and just hoovering there, ready to plunge. I wish I could have the surgery tomorrow. I am sooo ready! -
Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese
Camel_Cracker replied to MissWilde's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
*Thighs rubbing together *Hoping Lane Bryant sends me a coupon because it's the only place to find nice clothes in my size *Restricted sex positions.. I want to try all of the Kama Sutra without breaking my poor husband's back *Weighing more than my husband *Taking up more than my cushion on the couch *Worrying about the seatbelt fitting in other people's cars *Getting winded from walking up the stairs *Being the fattest person in the family/at work *Knocking things off shelves/tables with my huge butt when I walk by *Worrying about developing Type II Diabetes *Going into normal stores with friends knowing that the only thing that I can buy and wear are accessories and flipflops *Being told I have such a pretty face/eyes and that I could be a MODEL if I lost some weight *Back tits :smile2:) -
Well... I'm planning to get more in-depth kama sutra practice with the hubby. There are some positions that just aren't the same at 300 lb. A mini goal of mine is to go to Six Flags next summer and not worry about whether or not the bar will go down over my lap or breasts.

Today as I worked out I was kind of taking note of which machines might twist my belly after surgery. We have 12 machines at my center and I think there were 4-5 machines that I didn't feel in my abdominal region. Can the machines ruin the lab band or undo stitches?

How did you choose your goal weight?
Camel_Cracker replied to Bobbirs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I looked at the highest healthy weight for a large framed woman, then added 10-15 pounds for the extra skin that I will have left on my body. -
Sad when "cheating" is grilled chicken!
Camel_Cracker replied to shome's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a teacher, I also had a very hard time not eating last week. Thank GOD school ended yesterday, but now I have to fight the demons telling me to eat while I'm bored at home. I tried to get out of the house, but by 11 am it was really hot outside.... should move from Texas. Anyway, my husband has been fantastic about trying to eat before he gets home and when he eats here, he tries to eat things with quick prep, low odors and not noisy. He's really supporting me. -
Sad when "cheating" is grilled chicken!
Camel_Cracker replied to shome's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am now on day 7 of my 2 week clear liquid pre-op. I didn't cheat at all the first 3 days and I dropped about 2 pounds a day. The days that I cheat and eat a wedge of cheese or some tuna, I only lose about a pound or I don't lose. I am finished cheating though... it just makes it harder the next day resist temptation. :tongue2: I called my consultant and she said in addition to my jello, broth and water I can now have V8 juice,FF cream soups made with water or ff milk and egg drop soup. -

I'm a self-pay in DFW. I'm driving to Piedras Negras, MX, which is only about 7 hours from here and will pay around 7,000. -

High risk of pregancy

That's why I had an IUD implanted and we always use condoms... if we were to have a baby it would be immaculate conception! -
what else can I have on clear liquid diet
Camel_Cracker replied to slimm2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know what you mean about the chicken broth. While desperately searching the soup aisle at Wal-Mart I found jars of a product called "Better than Bullion." I bought and sampled mushroom, beef, vegetable and chicken. The tastiest by far are the chicken and vegetable flavours. Mushroom and beef aren't as bad as bullion cubes or broth in a can. I think I'll be using this paste in the future for cooking but after this 3-4 week liquid diet Hell, I'll probably never eat broth again. ) -
pre op (i need help)
Camel_Cracker replied to ch4life's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 3 of a 2 week pre-op liquid diet. You are so lucky to be able to eat meat and vegetables. I'm stuck with broth, jello and water.... I have gone through a pack of gum just to be able to chew. Just plan ahead for every day... Failing to plan is planning to fail.... -
On the pre op liquid diet
Camel_Cracker replied to LeslieR041906's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 2 of my pre-op diet today. I had 3 servings of sf jello, 2 EAS(?) shakes and a scoop of isopure powder. I have also been chewing sf gum, which is making me burp, but I need to chew something. I cheated this evening and ate a wedge of Laughing Cow Lite Cheese. Tomorrow I'm back to work and it should be easier for me. How long does it take for the hunger pain to go away? -
what else can I have on clear liquid diet
Camel_Cracker replied to slimm2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mmmmm.... I am on day 2 of my 2 week liquid preop diet. I mixed an EAS vanilla shake with a scoop of strawberry zero carb Isopure in my martini shaker with a few cubes of ice. It's not something that I would voluntarily drink out of the blue... but it's pretty darned tasty for a 2-carb drink. It has 42 grams of protein as well. It fills a 12 ounce glass. -

If you have wide width shoes before weight loss, do they become more narrow after significant loss?

what else can I have on clear liquid diet
Camel_Cracker replied to slimm2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am finishing up the first day of my 2 week pre-op clear liquids diet . It has been very difficult, and I just realized it's probably because I didn't have any protein shake/powder all day. I had sugar free gelatin (10 calories, not so bad but I'm sure I'll be sick of it in a month), chicken broth (waaaaaaay too salty), a lot of water and a sugar free cherry snow cone. I went to an outdoor art fair today and of course there were turkey legs, funnel cakes, popcorn, etc, but I found a snowcone stand and asked for sugar free. It's the first time in years that I've finished an entire snowcone.... -
Wow... it's starting to feel more real for me. When I start my liquid diet tomorrow reality will really hit.

I only bought the strawberry Isopure because it was 50$ and I want to make sure I use it before I start stocking up on half-used powders. I chose strawberry over cookies and cream because the GNC employee said that it was gross and that vanilla wasn't good with water. I wanted something I could use with milk or water. I have had 2 scoops so far. The first time I drank it, I used one scoop with about 10oz of water, and had to stir a lot to get it dissolved. The second time I used it was with a low carb chocolate shake, a scoop of Isopure, a half cup of frozen cherries, a banana and some ice cubes. It kept me full for a long time and filled 2 disposable cups. I'm saving the fruit flavored Isopure for after I'm banded because it's sooooooooooooooooo expensive... $5/bottle

I'll be on a liquid diet for 4 weeks, 2 weeks pre-op and 2 weeks post-op. I will definitely miss the sensation of chewing food and I'm wondering if chewing gum would help? Does it cause gas?:blushing:

Know anything about Dr Alvarez
Camel_Cracker replied to nan42's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Awesome! I got worried because I spend 100 bucks on all kinds of protein drinks, brought them home and opened them, storing them in the pantry, then realized that some diets are clear fluids only... I thought oooooh $hit!!!!!!!! I hope I will have the same diet you had... my BMI is 49 right now and i need it below 48 before surgery (to pay 500 less). You're a doll! -
WOW!!!!!! I googled Toilet Tongs... they look like tongs for barbecueing and you use them to clean your butt if you can't reach. I wish I had a bidet!
