Hey! We were banded the same day I think someone else cancelled their appointment when they realized it was Friday 13th, so I was bumped up. We've also lost about the same amount of weight. Cheers!

I have always had a healthy appetite (for food and nookie). That hasn't changed since surgery, but my husband wants it twice as often as before. The loss of inches has removed some of the padding that was in the way of deeper penetration, and my flexibility is amazing now. It is also much faster for me to reach climax now :frown:

Well, most of our daily or frequent foods were made to be enjoyed on special occasions. Because we can, we eat them more often, but it's busting our waistlines. My husband's family is middle-eastern, and while their food is mainly very healthy, they drown everything in EVOO... It's very healthy, but only a couple of teaspoons per day.

I did pretty well at Christmas dinner as far as my food choices and proportions. I ate twice as much as normal, but still about 1/5 of what I ate in years past. My husband really saved my butt when my sister tried making me a to-go box. He refused to let her for my own good and I really thank him for that now. I sure would love another sliver of pumpkin or pecan pie right now, but I'm glad it's not there. I will wash dishes instead

Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals
Camel_Cracker replied to ukcatsfan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow,.... This sounds like a nice motivation... 51 days left? hmm... I would like to lose 15 pounds and be down under 240 by Valentine's Day. So, I'll need to lose slightly over 2 pounds per week.... which also means that my 6'3" husband needs to hide all of the chocolates somewhere that I and my handy stepping stool can't reach them. -
How many fills till your sweet spot???
Camel_Cracker replied to karebare714's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have only had 2 fills, but got 5cc in the first and 2 more in the 2nd. I have a total of 7cc in a 9cc band. I believe I've hit my sweet spot :tongue2: I didn't feel good restriction until several weeks after my 2nd fill... I had actually called to schedule a 3rd fill, then that weekend could hardly eat because I felt so full. -
I want to know YOUR story w/Realize Band!
Camel_Cracker replied to froggie456834's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All... I was banded on 6/13/08 with a Realize band and was frustrated for the first 3 months. I had 2 fills, and didn't feel significant restriction, but magically about a month after my 2nd fill, I just had restriction. I have 7cc in my band and am pretty sure that I've hit my sweet spot. I am consistently dropping 1-3 lb/week, along with exercise. I am very happy with my choice of bands and hope that you will all feel restriction and happiness as well :tongue2: -
Hooray, bandsters my age! Any DFW Bandsters?
Camel_Cracker replied to soonerjadeou's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi! I am 27 and was banded 6 months ago. I didn't lose for the first 2-3 months until I got restriction, but now I am seeing great progress. I live in R ockwall  Congratulations to all of us for our success! -
Hello! I've been banded for a little over 6 months now and decided to have a hard boiled egg for Breakfast this morning. I thought I had chewed carefully, but about 20 minutes later, 45 minutes later it was still in my esophagus and I kept bringing up pieces. I finally ended up PBing it. Not sure what the problem was because I had HB egg in my tuna last night. Maybe because it was the first thing I ate today...

Gosh, I think we waited a day or two ) We're in our 20s afterall ) Then again, I never felt pain or discomfort after surgery, just a new pressure when I coughed, but that went away quickly. If you want to get really adventurous, you can make a dot-to-dot picture connecting your incision scars using edible body paint

From band to bypass???
Camel_Cracker replied to skhopp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honey, love yourself. You owe it to your future self not to sabatoge your health by emotional eating. If you don't feel the motivation to eat right or exercise, fake it till you make it. It takes around 21 days to establish a habit and once you get there you will feel so good about yourself and proud of your choices... you should also start seeing results and getting compliments, which will further motivate you to keep it up. You can and will do it, you just have to decide when it's time to start living  And that was my Dr. Phil moment ) -
From band to bypass???
Camel_Cracker replied to skhopp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I could be positive, but if you can't follow the rules for Lap Band, GBP is not going to be any better, in fact you are likely to stretch that pouch and regain all of your weight plus more and have nutritional deficiencies. Do you have fills in your band? -
Hello every one I need support
Camel_Cracker replied to Nicole A's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Nicole, if you've lost 25 pounds without a fill, consider yourself a success... that's a little under a pound a day, crazy fast loss. I didn't really lose for 2-3 months after surgery until I got good restriction. Just try to stay on track as much as possible... bad habits are hard to break  -
Well, Oprah and I have one thing in common... bat wings ) It would be nice to have a personal chef though... not so much the personal trainer, I would feel like I was in boot camp.

My surgeon only asked that we wait to get out of the hospital room before getting busy. I had no pain or discomfort at all! I guess the only thing different is that my husband had a great view of my steristrips. On a side note, losing weight and exercising does WONDERS for flexibility )
