Hi Brandy! Welcome to the "other side". I had my surgery only 6 days before you did so we are going through this together. You've come to the right place for mostly good advice and kinship.

Hello,
My name is Brandy I just had my gastric bypass surgery on 11/26/19 as you all know it's been a rough road but it starts to get smoother eventually! I'm looking forward to feeling and looking much healthier! I'm happy to have this app available and nice to meet anyone and everyone!

No, I usually let them float around and dissolve to a certain point then I spit them out. I hate the end taste of them...they turn bitter to me.
But once you move on in the diet, the dry mouth lessens. Until then, dry mouth and baaaaad breath.....I mean baaaad breath are your companions, unfortunately.

I have had extremely dry mouth from a medication for years. Be careful because I ended up losing my top teeth because of it.
i do not want to lose bottom teeth so now I use what dental hygienist recommended for at night while I sleep. They are called xylimelts
you put one between teeth and cheek. It dissolves through the night keeping your mouth wet. It stimulates the saliva. Got mine at Amazon but there may be other places to get it.

Keep Water by your bedside. When you wake up, take a sip and swish it around your mouth. I have the same issue. I keep water and sugarless mints handy.

So before surgery I was able to brush my tongue no problem at all, now post surgery.. as soon as something touches my tongue I almost vomit. Even thinking about it makes me nauseas. I wake up like 6 times a night because my mouth is so dry. I hate it, I feel so unclean. Has anybody else experienced this ?

Bill Sperry reacted to dee0128 in Sugar/Sweet Cravings
Hi everyone, I'm still adjusting to VSG surgery and will be one month post op this week. I've been having major sugar cravings since doing the low carb high Protein lifestyle. I've even had slip ups since graduating to phase 2 where I can have soft mushy foods and I've eaten sweets. Does anyone have suggestions for fighting these sugar cravings? I don't want to set myself back after coming this far on this journey. The cravings have only gotten worse since it's almost my time of the month and have been hitting the gym more often. They hit at night when it's time to rest.

I am new here. I just had my gastric sleeve surgery on the 26th of November. I lost 90 pounds prior to surgery. Finding it difficult to get my Protein Shakes down since surgery. Right side pain has been the most limiting for myself.

Not sure how many days post op you are, but yesterday (3 days post op) I was finally able to drink without it hurting. Even the Protein Drinks are going down a little easier yesterday and today. Don't push yourself the first day or two post op, but I'd say if it goes much longer than that I'd contact my doctor. Dehydration is the main concern I think

Get some if the one ounce medicine cups. Drink from them and try to stick to one ounce every 15 minutes. That’s worked for me.

That's the laparoscopy gas if you feel it in shoulders..as soon as you pee for 3 times it will be gone.. try to drink your meal slowly.. drink it in 20-30mins or more..Also for fainting, I felt like that too so I took Iv Ringer' solution twice.. once a day till day 6.. it helped me a lot[emoji4]Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app
