I agree with Bella, it sounds like your gall bladder. According to my surgeon this is a common problem after losing a lot of weight. I would go ahead and give your doc a call. I hope you feel better:smile:

I am glad you did so well with the pain! I hope I will be able to say the same when its time for my band :biggrin2:

Pulling a Star Jones...?
blueriley replied to futurefinemama's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have not yet been banded, but I am still not sure who I will tell. The only people who know that I am even considering this are my mom and best friend. I will tell my Dad when I go to visit around Father's day. Most likely, I will not tell anyone else including family and co-workers. I just don't want to be crititized for my decision. I admire those that are open and honest about it to everyone, maybe one day I will feel like I can be more open. -
Congratulations on your banding! Are you still needing you pain medicine now or is advil or tylenol enough?

Suggestions Please On Best Tasting Protein Shakes
blueriley replied to slim2be's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read good things here on the forum about the Isopure Protein drinks. I have not had my surgery yet, so I cannot give my opinion but they seem to have interesting flavors- not just chocolate or vanilla. I found some here GNC - Nature's Best I like that they are premixed and I can take them to work without have to mix them. -
Good luck! I am also just getting started on my journey, I am going to the seminar next week. I hope to have my surgery the beginning of August- if everything is approved.

Family member question

Umm, I burp a lot now:laugh: Imagine what it will be like after the band:thumbup: -
I have been thinking about Lap-banding for the past couple of months. A friend of mine had it in October and has had amazing results. Its not been a magic fix for her but with hard work she is making the band work. A little bit about me... I have been overweight since I was 8 years old, but it wasn't until after high school that I put on the most weight. Freshmen 15- uh no I put on 4o#. In the past I have been able to lose weight usually with no problem, but I can never keep it off and I end up gaining it all back plus more. So next week I am starting my journey and going to the seminar. Right now I am about 5# under my insurances requirement of a 40bmi. Should I try to gain the 5# to get the approval? I do not have any comorbidities.

Apologize for being redundant, but Noob with question
blueriley replied to inzane's topic in Insurance & Financing
I would just call your insurance provider and ask them if the banding is covered and if it is, what are the requirement (i.e bmi, comorbidities). Thats what I did and my insurance co rep gave me all the info.:cool2:
