I am pleased to say that you don't even know it's there maybe after a month or so sometimes I feel for it just to see if it's still there I am 9 months out and can't find it anymore but it's there It does not hurt, well maybe the first 3 days or so if you move a certain way it can tug a bit and bring on some pain but it's not unbearable if you will...good luck and you will be fine promise!!!!

rcruz replied to Bracchus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
LOL!! Funny I was just thinking about this the other day didn't know it was called "2sday" great now I have a name for my special day now!!!! Anyway for someone that hasn't seen 2sday in MANY years I can say I am looking forward to it I have 15lbs to go and I can't tell you how excited I am to get this far from where I was..its been a long haul but as I look back I feel good that I have come this far and actually give myself a pat on the back to to say! GOOD luck to all!!! -
Yes you have to help the band a bit and eat right. I CAN NOT eat chcken for the life of me. Although when at Olive Garden yesterday I was able to order the chicken alfredo without the noodles and I tell you I savored every 5 pieces of chicken and it went down and was very good!!!!! Now today I can barely get Soup down ugh...it's touch and go if you ask me!

I chose the realize band, the choice was mine, I even asked the doctor which one he would put in and he told me that he has two kids and would place one of each. I did my own research and saw the band in person and I chose them for my personal reasons I won't share them (becasue your still in the deciding stage) and because people tend to go on other's experiences I say this becasue I do the same thing...everyone is different I see that a person above me lost almost double that I have and we have the same band. they say that the realize band people tend to lose slower, and it takes longer to get to the restriction level at first this is true and I was very down about it but you know what I wouldnt't have it any other way I am still a LOSER (a good one) and that is what counts! Good luck in making your decision!!!!!

Ditto actually I listen for it because then I know I still have restriciton LOL!!!:lunch:

I am going to throw myself out there but I never do liquids after fills I listen to my band and eat small moderate meals and I have always done fine. But please always listen to your doctor, me I am rebulius hence why I am over weight. But now I have my lil friend (the band) that straightens me out once in a while. :lunch:

Funny I came across this Jack, I have Diabetes Insipidus which they call "water diabetes" we LOVE water and can drink up to a gallon of water in less than 2 hours, so interesting that it weighs so much never knew that. So on my days that the medication does NOT get absorbed into my nose (that is how I take it) I tend to drink alot of water that day hence the reason I am weighing so much then next day! Thanks for the info!!!!

I was so hungry last night I just knew I was going to over eat but NOPE the band was making the decisions last night and showed me a thing or two. When you get to restriction (your sweet spot) you will be on the road to forgetting this post ever happen good luck!!!!!!
-
Great job!!! Congrats!
-
What a way to put it, thanks for the memo!!!!

Funny I am the same way eat bad and I am down a few lbs. I say just because you don't eat alot you will lose weight I think it's the other way around eat right or at your target calories per day and it will continue to drop that is for me anyway...GOOD luck I am like 15lbs from buying a Wii fit I can't wait!!!!!!
-
Umm yep I was suppose to be at 10ccs in a 9 cc band and still no restriction, so I asked him to take it all out and measure it and what do you know I only had 7.6ccs in there he added 1.1ccs and I think the 8.7ccs is my sweet spot I didn't even go to my this months appointment because I am content right where I am. Good luck hope your future fills won't go missing again!!!

Wii are ready to work out!
rcruz replied to shellyphaunts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I am under that by 15lbs but I will wait till I am in the two-oderland is there such a word, oh well meaning until I reach the 2's I should be fine then... What a couple of months I can wait thanks!!! -
how much do you loose each month?
rcruz replied to ibeatanorexia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I average on the lines of around 5-8lbs a month and my doctor said that was great...well I guess. Since I am a slow loser anyway. I have lost 6lbs each month if you do the standard dividing what I have loss to date and my surgery date. BUT IT'S A LOSS that is all I care about, in the beginning I didn't lose hardly any due to no restriction!!! -
Wii are ready to work out!
rcruz replied to shellyphaunts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

2nd fill w/Realize band 6cc total no restriction
rcruz replied to betrthnever's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You say she has 8cc in there, well I have 8.7 right now and I think I am at my sweet spot I am finding that I need to help the band not totally rely on it if that makes sense. I mean I have restriction and can eat a lil more than a cup. But things like bread and rice really remind me that I have the band, meaning I try to eat those bad things but they make me feel horrible. Yesterday I was feeling yucky so I decided to eat 100 calorie soup and a very toasted grilled cheese I only got half of it down and had to stop. Some people say that even a .1 cc can make a huge difference. I am going to try that this next visit and go up to 8.8 and I am almost sure that will be my spot for a while. Good luck I really think she just needs a small small small fill is all.... -
Oh amiga I know about this becasue we are friends, I still think maybe they should unfill you completely for a week or so and then fill you again that way all the gas has to escape becasue your empty I think the gas is caught down there and being filled to 7ccs is keeping it down there so to say..I don't know but yes you are looking good I was jealous I couldn't get in the swimming pool with ya this past weekend but I will someday I am am a slow loser!!!!!!!! But I will get there. Let me know what you decide hopefully someone will come along and give you some more advice...
-
But remember if one is addicted to food you can say that changing the old habits like bringing food in the house and not eating the same ole foods big difference is we have the "Band" and it helps almost at 50% than those alone trying to do...did that make sense!??!?!?!?!
