Funny I just came back from the doctor and he mentioned this to me before we proceeded with my fill, I told him I was losing restriction and he said that it may be possible worst case senerio that I may have a leak and then he said that there is a thicker substance that he may place in my band that requires only half of what it would need with saline and he said it was thick almost like oil. Ok so we go in and he takes out 7.6 (I was suppose to have over 10ccs in my 9 cc band right?) Well come to find out I only had 7.6cc. So he was like almost torn between filling me back with the same Fluid and a tiny bit more vs the other filling they are using now. He decided to go with the regular saline and gave me a swallow and put 1.1cc in there and we watched how "fast" it went through and he was satisfied so now I am 8.7ccs in my band. I just hope it gives me some restriction or that "full" feeling ya know. My pouch was not stretched like I secretly thought it was, and it over all looked great. I only lost 3.8lbs this past month I am taking it as at least it's a loss NOT A GAIN! :wub: So we will see... Oh and that rock guy came to mind when I was in the room when I saw the realize dummy you know the little display they have to show you what it looks like around your stomach and I mentioned that people were saying that when you put the realize band around the stomach it's almost trianglar well we did that and it was completely around the stomach like a circle or rather just like the lap band although I have to agree it is much wider than the lap band and of course the port is much smaller too...:tt1: just something I noticed is all...

Ok so I was banded on June 26th, and to date I have only lost 12lbs but alot was due to my doctor being very conservative with fills therefore I never got any restriction off the bat like most last month I got my first "stuck" episode so I figured ok I am going to get restriction from now on, ok he had already put in 8ccs for a total right????? Well I go back today I lost 7.6lbs which was good I thought (I could lose more if I were to exercise and really eat good) but anyway we did another barium swallow because I am still eating like close to 2 cups of food and NO PBing for the last 2 weeks. Did the swallow and everything looks good no stretched anything, well I swallowed the barium and it went through so fast and my eyes were popping out thinking back to my last fill I saw the liquid almost do a complete stop before going through and now after the 8ccs I am back to the same NO RESTRICTION, restriction meaning it went right through...I am confused so they put 2ccs in and then only did it go down alot slower but not as slow as last time do you all follow me still? MEANING I am suppose to have a 9cc band and he tells me I have 10ccs in my realize band. I am so confused and thinking maybe something is very wrong, could it be I have a leak how come it went right through so easily again this time if it was at very good pace at 8ccs damn this is so discouraging seriously. Any others share the same experience of filling more than what thier band is SUPPOSE to hold?

I am not doing well with this at all, I need ideas. I can't ever get that "full" feeling what so ever...I know I am not eating solid pretien because to tell you the truth I don't know what foods are good solid foods that will get me to the full feeling dang nab it. So can any of you share some of your ideas of solid Protein please?!?!? Thanks! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thank you everyone that is "our" plan this next appointment is to take it all out and measure exactly how much is in the band. I had/have some restriction but I only get to the point of getting stuck (eating too fast) and well that is about it. I think it has to do with how I am eating...I ate slow this morning 2 eggs and 2 sausage patties and I ate real slow and although it's in my throat I think I have no desire to eat anymore. That is not the Full feeling I thought I would have. I can't wait till the 6th I am very anxious about finding out...thank you very much for your thoughts and responses. I will keep you all updated...

Ok so back to my original post. I still do not have restriction. I actually have never had that "full" feeling. I am suppose to be at 10cc in my band but I can't really say that is true I have an appointment on the 6th and they are going to take it all out and re-measure the saline that is inside. I wonder what the problem is? Also I need solid protein food ideas I have been looking around for those too maybe I am eating the wrong foods I eat what I cook for my hubby and family it's just there is no restriction at all...oh well I'll see what we can do on the 6th....

My problem is I keep telling myself tomorrow I will do better but I don't dang nab it! I need some serious help with some restriction is all to kill the hunger for those 4-5 hours they say that it does. And thank you fo rhte kind words...

HEATHER- NOW taking me back to when I had the second fluro and it went faster than the fluro before I had and I even mentioned that it went faster than the week before!!!! GOSH I am going to not be so scared to speak up I mean after all I only have 6 months left this needs to be fixed and I need my sweet spot!!!! I am convinced I have a leak seriously I mean I am suppose to have 10ccs in a 9cc band and I was very concerend that he didn't want to pull it out and measure it last month due to my weight loss I hope they are not hiding something this is my life they are dealing with. I have NO RESTRICTION, lost it, nada!!!! AND NO WEIGHT LOSS either I am very concerned too..I am going to make them take time with me next week seriously!!!!

I have tried the bullets and they are fine I need to get the fruit punch flavor I think and throw it in the crystal lite fruit punch that water is good I bet it would be like you said can't tell the difference or that it is in there...a little on the expensive side though ( the bullets) but if it helps then I say go for it....

OUR bandaversaries are the same :huggie: However I have had a fill every month since and I am still not losing or experienced that "full" feeling just stuck feeling is all form eating too fast. I feel ya and now that Christmas is over I feel really hungry! Isn't that weird. I am due for another fill on the 6th and can't wait I didn't get a fill in Dec. becasue I had lost 9.8 lbs but now I am starving alot so I think I am due for a fill maybe that is what you need too. Thank you everyone, I guess I should admit I am just plain HUNGRY never get full and have lost restriction. I am playing with the thought of maybe a leak or something, I mean though last appointment I had fluro done and there was restriction (going down slow) but since have lost it they didn't fill me last month becasue I had lost 9.8lbs I am afraid I have gained that back over the holidays not due to the holidays but due to being hungry not being bad if that makes sense. GOSH I need to get this fixed!!! I mean I only have 6 months left of fills and then I have to pay for them dang nab it!!!!!

We are suppose to take out all my fill too this next appointment. I mean I have lost restriction again actually feeling very hungry and even lost it for a few days with eating. I have called for an earlier date than the 9th of Jan and they moved it to the 6th. I too think I have a leak or something but when we did the last fluro it showed nothing like a leak actually it showed restriction (went down slow) that has since went away. I have never felt "full" for any amount of time which is weird. I will find out next week hopefully if I actually have the 10cc in my 9cc band or I have a leak or whatever may be the problem in 6 months I have only lost 35lbs :tongue2: not what I had anticipated to have lost by now all in all it's a loss but still I have so much to lose!!! Good luck hope you just need a much more agressive fill is all....

Yea I do every month I thoughtit was from the deading spray they put on there...who knows.

Honestly it varies, I am at 10ccs in my band and my band is suppose to only be 9ccs. I have restriction and I have PB'ed several times it's all about learning and eating right I have not learned quit yet I have my down falls but I am getting there...

What do I do?!?!?! Suffer, mentally and emotionally becasue will power IS NOT in my mind frame!!! I have lost slowly too. Do I come on here and tell everyone when I have failed NO because people are so harsh on others basically forgetting where they came from in my honest opinion..

I was givent he choice also and I tried really hard to get him to tell me which one he perfers and he said I have one of each in my kids and the outcome is the same if that was true who knows but he did not perfer one over the other.. I chose the realize because the port is flatter, and the band part was not covered with that hard plastic all the way around it. And I liked the way it was anchored on with that clamps sounds painful but I am sure it's not. I have noticed that it takes a while longer for the realize band to fill vs the lap band but still I am happy with my choice...

I drink chocolate milk all the time and have not problems but I have to drink REAL SLOW though.

I get free fills fo rthe first year it came in the package of self pay so I get one each month, hopefully by 12 months I will be at my sweet spot but I think after this month I am already there but still I have 6 months to play with incase I need some adjustments later...

I am sorry you had a bad experience with the fills my doctor lays me on the table sprays numbing stuff and since I am under Fluro he can see as he goes in and hits the port everytime and I am done. This last couple of times he has hit scar tissue it seems I have alot built up so it has taken a minute longer these last 2 times but he gets it in everytime, and NO PAIN.
