Oh yeah AVILLA congrats on your pounds lost, you are almost at 70lbs LOST:clap2:
-
Oh no, Avilla I didn't take it as being negative. My doctor gets lip from his patients too, about the protein diet. He is now starting letting us have some veggies with the meat (I was doing that anyways:kiss ) I feel like each of us are different and we have to work the diet which is best for us.
-
Hi Avilla..... glad to hear from you:biggrin1: Regarding the m/e you have to do what is best for you. I am staying away from red meat which they say causes colon cancer. Have you lost anymore weight yet Avilla? Chix, fish & lamb is OK for right now, from the latest FDA reports, but that is subject to change:heh: This is day 4 for me on the m/e this week and I've lost 3lbs so far. DENISE.....I got sick last nite with the induc flu, I threw up about 3 times:cry , but I'm feeling great now. That was truly amazing that you sat thru a homemade pizza dinner:faint: :hungry: I'm still not hungry this morning even tho I really didn't eat anything yesterday. I think you would've been OK just eating the topping off the pizza, but regardless you did very good.

tann replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's great news Wheetsin:biggrin1: I can wear sz 18-22 it depends on how its made. I used to be sz 36/34:eek: . I love the feeling of being about to shop just about anywhere. I can't even edit my sig either. I need to up my numbers of my workouts, and I weigh in in the morning, so I won't be able to subtract my weight either:angry -
A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
tann replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
:welcomeB: :cheer2: DEBRA, I started at over 400lbs too, and it can be done. I know you are very excited for Friday's band day. I will say a prayer for you that all goes well. As the weight comes off I'm sure alot of your health issues will subside. -
Wow Denise, you are dealing with alot with your bp. But it is good you are on top of it, with staying close with your doctors. I see you are only 4 pounds from the big 100. You WILL make that 100 this month, even with TOM. But if by some very small chance you don't, it will be the first week in May for sure.:biggrin1: I did good today around a co-workers b-day luncheon. They had bread wings & a ceasar's salad w/croutons. I peeled the skin back and had one bite of the wing. I must be in ketosis because I'm not hungry at all. I will check my stick tonite. Do you ever get the induction flu when you do m/e? It's a sick to your stomach feeling and you can not stand the site of food. I think it is gonna hit me any day now:speechles
-
Actually Denise, I didn't really eat alot of red meat, but in March I was craving it like nobodys business and I had quite a bit of red meat. I guess it really raised my chols levels. Anything over 200 is not good and I was already at 218:eek: Even tho I do m/e I don't eat alot of eggs only about 2 a week. Like tonite I will be using one egg for my egg salad. When I made the egg drop soup I only ate 3 spoons of it because I wasn't hungry. How was your chols levels?
-
I agree DENISE we have lost quite a few members:cry Hey but we'll hold down the fort until they decide to come back. I had some blood work done last week....just talked with the nurse about the results....my cholsterol level went up from 218 to 256:eek: :cry She asked if I have been eating a lot of red meat, which I had been in March. She said to limit the beef to twice a week. But I had already decided last week to cut beef out of my diet to maybe 1-3 times a year maybe on just major holidays. I was told it causes colon cancer. Oh well, all I can eat now is fish, chix, & lamb. I'm leaving pork alone too:think
-
Avilla, yes I make my own egg drop soup because I don't know what kind of fillers that the resturant make. 1 can of chix broth 2 eggs salt free seasonings fresh chiles or dried onions Heat the chix broth up to an almost boil with the seasonings then slowly stir in lightly beaten eggs and top with chiles. The dried onions & chiles add up to less than a carb or two so that is ok. 4/24 B: decaff tea L: grilled chix D: egg salad without the relish:cry
-
Wow everyone is doing good on the scales, I will weigh in on Wednesday morning and post my weight changes then.
-
Dang, Mary I feel soo bad for you:think I will pray that your weightloss start to move for you. Paula from what she just posted she has been keeping a food journal for years and has talked with her doctor.
-
Mary have you only lost 14 pounds since being banded in 11/05? Or you just have not updated your signature? But if that is true what does your doctor have to say about your weightloss, is there some other medical reason for the lack of weightloss?
-
Avilla....lol my menu is pretty boring....for today 4/23 B: decaff black tea L: grilled chix D: egg drop soup water & sf water thru out the day:bored :biggrin1: I'm going walking today, & cleaning my bathroom that's the excitement for the day.
-
Avilla, for me I have a really good fill and I can only do like a half piece of chix, or about 3oz or less of any meat. For yourself you should eat until you are satisfied. I guess it all depends on your fill. Usually when I have my 3oz of meat I'm full for about 4-5 hours sometimes longer. But I also have to deal with emotional eating, or eating junk because someone else is eating it, or even being bored. But when I'm doing the m/e it helps me to stay focus on the m/e. I think DENISE has mentioned this too. It's like we need the displine (sp).
-
Yes Avilla, that's how I do it. We had chicken, mashed potatoes & a green salad for dinner. I just had the chicken. I also think that if you are a first timer you might just want to to 2-3 days at a time, then add some veggies.
-
Denise I'm glad you can relate to what I'm talking about, I can't imagine the attention we will be getting at goal weight:faint: , but its ALL GOOD. But it gets kinda embarrassing sometimes being the center of attention, still not used to that. Avilla its Sunday Morning is this is my plan for today. B: SF flavored water L/D is combined on Sundays: Baked chicken More water thru out the day if I get hungry later tonite it will be chix broth.
-
Amy, it is quite amazing, People make me feel like a lil weightloss celebrity, I'm not exaggerating (sp?) Everyday, everywhere I go if someone knows me the weightloss is the topic of the conversation:eek: They hug me, and I have had a lady start crying on me, she was just soo happy for me. It is truly amazing, I get all kinds of compliments, people treat me different. They can't believe I still want to lose 75 more pounds. AVILLA I'm starting a m/e Sunday morning thru the end of this month. I will post my menue each day. I gotta warn ya tho, it's not much food. :nervous
-
:bored :tired Seems like you are just a little bit excited:bored :notagree Just kidding :pound: :cheer2:    I'm excited for you too.
-
TURNER good job on the:lost3lbs: :welldone: and this is for your DH :( :lost2lbs: :success1: makes me want to start m/e soon.:biggrin1: Most likely I will do m/e starting Monday for the last full week of April, I've gotta make my goal for this month. As long as I lose 10lbs a month I'm happy with that. Thanks DENISE for the compliment, girl you inspire me too. You should be the ring leader for our next challenge with starts May 29th.:heh:
-
:cheer2: Good Job Denise, now lets keep it moving forward. It's a beautiful day where I'm at too. But of course this is Sunny Florida:biggrin1:
