    Thanks Libra, it still has not registered to me either:heh:When people in my life ask how much I have lost sometimes I'm embarrassed to tell them 191 lbs because that's alot of weight and I STILL have about 60 lbs to go:faint:But hey, the hard part is over with, I hope and pray. They say sometimes the last 25 lbs or so is the hardest to lose:phanvan

    everyones diet is diffrent

    Don't worry about what others are eating, just follow your doctor's orders. Mine were similar to yours. I did 2 weeks of clears, 2 weeks of mushies, then onto regular high protein foods. Wishing you the best in your new journey:D

    Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going thru, you are in my prayers. I would that Elisabeth's advice and get more testing done. Thanks Katie, Libra & Carol for the encouraging words. I get alot of pm's from people asking me what am I doing to lose weight. I just try to follow my doctor's diet which is lean proteins, non starchy veggies, water and to get at least 30 min of cardio a day. When ever I stick to his rules the weight comes off, when I do my own thang, I either stall, or gain weight. So it's worth it to me to stay on his plan.

    Carol, wow 7lbs!! you are truly focused now. I also would like a monthly challenge, I already challenge myself to lose at least 10lbs a month. Most months I lose between 12-18 lbs a month. Maybe we can start the new challenge on July 5th.

    Josette you were close enough to be in our special 400 club too:D and I just noticed how tall you are, WOW!! Elisabeth my weight on the day of surgery was 402. I weighed 421 when I first went to the Dr.'s office for orentation, in Jan '06.

    Ms. Jen, alot of people do get the bad breath part but for some reason I don't. I check and I have my DH & my sister check for me just in case I couldn't tell, and they said no. I get the induc flu tho, which is not fun but it does passes. I would just brush my teeth more often and kept me some sf mints and scope around with me. In my experience you can only reach ketosis by limiting your carbs to 20-30 grams or under. I don't count calories. I do watch my fat intake, and try to only eat lean meats. I eat my veggies everyday too, except when I'm doing m/e. When you want to get into ketosis with the limited carb intake, it usually takes about 3-5 days for your body to burn up all the carbs that's in your system, providing that you are not putting extra carbs back into the body.

    Ms. Jen induc flu is a term from Dr. Atkins, it's what happens to you sometimes when you are in ketosis. When your body is burning your stored fat for fuel instead of carbs that is in your system. You feel sick to your stomach off and on for a day or two, it passes and the pounds do too. You also do not have an appetitate, which is GREAT!! Nice to hear from you again Avilla, we are missing you. Don't work too hard now. Now is your son doing? It's great that you are maintaining your weight thru out this life changing that's going on with you and your family. Amy make sure your meats are not fatty, because that really makes a difference in the weightloss, even tho they are no carbs. You are doing great. How long are you in for with the m/e. And what are you eating.
  15. Virgina, you are doing great, take pictures and then you will see a difference. That's the only way I can tell. Even tho I'm 235 I still feel like I'm in the upper 380's. It takes time for the mind to register our new bodies, I guess.
  16. That's the goal I try to aim for each month is a 10lbs loss, most months I do more than 10 but 10 is my goal.

    Welcome Back Karey, glad you had a good time. Only a two pound gain is great. Amy:heh:sure I can give you some more ideas. Congrats on your loss, I will start m/e probably on Sunday if not sooner, I don't like losing 1 pound a week:faint: hamburger or ground turkey patties made with meatloaf seasonings:hungry: slow roasted pot roast, turkey breast, I like dark meat tho. grilled chix, grilled lamb chops, pork chops Steak, beef ribs, pork ribs baked fish, or whatever seafood you want Trim all the fat, and not too many chix wings & turkey wings because they tend to be fatty, especially the turkey wings. I do use a lil onion & sometime bell pepper to cook my meats in for add flavor and because I'm also cooking for other family members too. Watch the salt also. Ok Amy now my mouth is watering:heh:

    Amy, yes I did try the eggs in the bag and they were great, my boys like to make them too, lil things like that very gets them hyped up when they can "cook" for themselves. They're 10,7 & 5 so you see at that age they were really excited about it. I visit so many weightloss boards that I forgot where the idea came from:rolleyesSo THANK YOU for telling me about that:D Amy, you are still doing great, I don't know if you are at your sweet spot or not, but ever since I reached my sweet spot after my 4th fill in Sept'06 the weight has been coming off pretty good. So if you haven't reached your sweet spot, the weight may not come off as fast, but just keep making the right choices and it will come off. A male friend once told me that same statement once. When you cheat you are only cheating yourself. He was referring to his marriage and being faithful, but I use it for my weightloss. But so how when I'm about to cheat I forget all about that statement:eek: I get lazy too:faint:I don't exercise like I should. I went walking today so hopefully I can keep that up at least 4x's more this week:guess

    Amy make sure you get your water in, it is very important to keep yourself hydrated when doing the m/e so you don't get the induc flu , or not as bad. You should lose about a pound a day once you hit ketosis. Wishing you the best on it.:hungry::biggrin1:
