I got banded and still do weight watchers (extra security)I like to read the books and get ideas for different foods i dont go by points the time but i do try to eat 1000 calories a day and exercise 30 min a day....i do lose every week so in my opinion WW is good for u

I dont understand why dont u want to get a fill?? i know theres people out there that have lost weight without being filled but if u feel u need one get it done...u didnt get this surgery to not lose weight its a tool and if the tool needs to be filled u need to get it done...good luck

well 1st things 1st congrats on finding ur lifetime partner!! a couple of questions for u..how much do u weigh/height? i was told we had to wait 18 months to 2 yrs to get pregnant..there are people on here who got preggers right away after losing some weight there are some people who were told by there doctors to start trying..if u feel u want to lose weight 1st u should and then get preggers...if u can afford to gain more weight with pregnancy its up to u....if this is what u always wanted (to get banded) then i think u should get the band and wait a little bit to have ur baby (at a healthier state)..whatever u decide good luck to u!

I was banded 9/8 also and am doin fine..yes i do feel hungry (before my fill) but i stuck to what my Nut and Dr told me 1/2 cup to 1cup of food per meal 3 times a day and 3 sf snacks ...i try to eat every 2 to 3 hrs so im not always hungry...i got my 1st fill 10/24 i felt some restriction for a couple of days but that has faded so i get my next fill 12/5 ...drinks lots of fluid..dont overeat and get as much exercise as u can...good luck

i got my 1st fill on 10/24 2cc and the doctor told me i cant get my next fill until 12/5 so ur lucky that u can get another one...i eat 1 cup of food 3 times a day with 3 snacks a day and exercise my butt off to keep losing weight...good luck to you

I had my 1st fill on 10/24 an it wasnt as bad as i made it out to be...the only thing that hurt was the lidocaine that they used to numb the spot...he had me stand against the wall lift up shirt where he can see my stomache and when he found the port he stuck a needle in it while i was drinkin water (not under flouro)..he told me once the water felt like it was gettin stuck to tell him and i did when it went down he added a little more for a total of 2cc in an 11cc band i go back 12/5 for another fill good luck to u

Just stick to what ur doctor tells u and no1 else! U dont want to wake up from surgery and find ur bandless and in pain!! Its one week get over it ull be fine stick to ur doctors plan...This is just a support site no1 can tell u what to do besides ur doctor...ur doctor knows better than any1 he or she wouldnt stear u wrong...i had 2 weeks on clear liquids (slimfast, sf jello, water, chicken broth) and it sucked it was so hard but i got thro it just like u will...as for my 1st fill i didnt have any special diet afterwards my doctor told me to eat what is tolerated..i did exactly what he said and im fine...stick to ur pre op diet ull be happy when the week is over and u did it! I was banded 9/8 and had my 1st fill 10/24..it was a weird experience i wont lie..the only thing that hurt was the lidocaine which is a pinch and a burning sensation to the numb the area..after it was numb i stood with my back against the wall and he located my port and stick the needle in..while he was injecting saline i was drinking water to see how it goes down...i have 2cc in a 11cc band i go for my next fill 12/5...good luck and dont be nervous it wasnt as bad as i thought it would

I dont think it would hurt but id call ur doctors office and ask to be on the safe side...u dont want to eat anything that isnt on ur list while ur healing...atleast it melts in ur mouth and it isnt "real" food...let me know what they say...good luck

My doctor told me to exercise when i felt better so i started walking right away and then moved to the treadmill at 2 weeks at 3 weeks i was ridin the bike and the eliptical (exercise when u feel comfortable) with food wise by doctors orders i eat 6 meals a day (3 meals 3 snacks) no more than a cup of food per serving i usually go between 1/4 and a 1 cup depending on how i feel full wise..good luck

I had that 2..i hap aetna thro my employer and bariatric surgery was also excluded from my policy...so i switched insurance companies i researched different companies that accept WLS and got personal choice...i got my new insurance 7/1 and got approved 7/8 had surgery 9/8 only had to pay $1300 out of pocket..good luck

I dont have any restriction either but my doctor told me to eat every 2 hours and it helps (im still losing wieght)...(7:30am)for breakfast i have 1/2 a simply jif peanut butter sandwich with sf jam and wheat bread...(9:30am)2 hrs later i have 1/2 cup chex mix...(11:30 or 12pm)2hrs later i have lunch 2oz tuna with 7 pita chips...(1:30 or 2pm)2 hrs later i have string cheese...(4pm)2 hrs later i have 1/2 protein shake..(6pm) 2hrs later i have dinner 2 to 4 oz of meat, some veggies or a small salad...if by chance im hungry by 8pm which is usually NO i eat another Sf snack this has helped me a lot and my doctor liked my routine...good luck o and i drink 64 oz of water a day mixed with crystal light and exercise 4 to 5 times a week 30 min

:confused:Ok so last night i threw up(something got stuck..didnt make it passed the band and came back up) since then my stomache especially port side hurts also my back 2..now did i pull something or did i hurt my band im not sure...i can eat and drink fine just feel uncomfortable like cramps or something...i have an appointment friday to see my doctor for a fill so im sure he will check my band out...anyone have this before?? I wonder if when i puked i strained my insides:confused:

Hey guys and gals I can relate i had aetna thro my employer and he also did not pick up bariatric surgery so it was excluded from my policy...since i didnt want to self pay (lack of funds) i opted to find my own insurance..i went with personal choice...june 6th i had my seminar they informed me aetna would not pay i got my new insurance july 1st and by july 8th i was approved!! Good thing is my employer picked up the tab on the insurance since i dont use his anymore he was willing to pay $400 a month towards new insurance which was great since it costs me 474 a month (family plan)..i got the band sept 8th and my total out of pocket for surgery was $1,300 better then 8,000 or 10,000...my suggestion to u is look into an insurance company that will pay for it.

Im sorry u had such a bad experience i would of knocked her out for sayin that shit but thats me...im goin thro the same thing with my doctor they had me pay $2,500 the day of surgery which is 500 deductible and 2000 co insurance i was fine with that and i paid it...well my insurance told me they shouldnt of did that to me because i wasnt responsible for that much i only owed 1,300...now im receiving bills from procedures i had the day of surgery sayin i owe money i called the billing dept and told the lady i already paid u guys 2500 im not payin anymore and i want a refund of 1,200 that im owed...when i had the surgery done they told me i wouldnt owe anything else now all this shit is happening

:confused:Is it true that u shouldnt get a fill during or a couple days before ur cycle?? Im just curious because i read on a site that u shouldnt get a fill while u have ur "friend" because u retain water and its harder to get a fill?? im due for my next week and am also getting a fill oct 24th so i was wondering should i cancel my appointment and reschedule til aunt flow leaves?? any suggestions:confused:

I agree with everyone else ur eating to fast or putting 2 much into ur mouth at a time....slow down and take the smallest bites u can and it shouldnt happen anymore remember chew chew chew and take breaks after every bite

Congrats on getting banded!! This is the place to come 2 when u have question sor just need some support!! Good luck on ur journey things will get better i started feeling better 2 weeks after surgery..im 5 weeks out and it doesnt even feel like i had surgery i get my 1st fill next week so ill let u know how it goes...best wishes

I agree wait a week...i got new insurance on July1st and barix clinic sent the records to the insurance company on july 8th i got approved..give it time it will happen..good luck on getting approved

Yea i wondered the same thing cause on another thread they said to have a sucessfull fill dont get it done durin the TOM i got scared i thought if i got it done something would go wrong..i dont wanna ask my doctor (he's a guy) i dont think he will understand..thanx for all ur replies

I do feel good and its about time i started exercising regularly im so happy so far with the band and i cant wait to keep losing weight i know the 1st 6 weeks its not about weight loss so im not concerned that the scale doesnt move i know in due time the weight will come off...good luck to everyone
