    OOTD

I'd be making sure my yellow drawstrings were always hanging out for the world to see!! LOL!!! My son is in a show and they are ordering tshirts for the parents to wear. There was a FB post for everyone to comment with their size. I've never been so excited to order a size small for all of the FB to see! LOL!!!
  2. Was the 38.6 a snapshot in time? If you can find a higher recorded weight, you could argue that the 38.6 was when you were dieting and that you weren't able to maintain it on your own.
  3. My insurance qualified me on my starting weight, not my weight on the date of surgery. My surgeon's office confirmed this with me on my first visit. I believe that is true for most if not all insurance companies, so double check with yours!

    Red meat consumption

I never had a problem with red meat. It was chicken that got me (but now that's fine too). Try it soft, like a meatball, and see how you do!

Beautiful AND Talented!!! I took sewing in high school, and made hair scrunchies every day! I'm showing my age by admitting to wearing hair scrunchies in high school! LOL!!
  11. My psych exam was great actually. She asked me which surgery I was having, and asked what my surgeon had told me about the risks and benefits, and why I wanted the surgery. Then, she went on to explain the surgery, dumping syndrome, liver shrinking diet, etc. I was very impressed with her knowledge and I enjoyed the discussion.
  12. I don't have experience with anxiety, but wanted wish you the best of luck with your bypass! Definitely a smart choice compared to the lap band! I had my bypass 16 months ago, and it was the best decision I ever made! Looking forward to following your journey!
  13. I stopped wearing the faja at the end of March. I don't feel like I swell at all, so didn't seem like I needed it. Wow on losing 13 lbs since PS! I lost 4 lbs post op, but don't know how much my skin weighed. Now I want more PS! LOL!!!
  14. Another straw user! No problems!!
  15. It’s been a little over 3 months, so here are some updated progress pics! Scar continues to fade, but it’s not like anyone sees it anyway! I love my flat tummy and someday will treat myself to a spray tan so I can really enjoy it! Lol!! Loving my new body!
  16. WOW!!!! Such a huge accomplishment! Congratulations!!!!

    Eating out after bypass

My kids are collecting happy meal toys so we ended up at McDonalds tonight. This is the after pic of my cheeseburger. I ate 2-3 fries with it. I’m 15 months out and in maintenance. I feel like I ate 1 bite too many. Hate that feeling!
  18. You are good!!! It's solid foods that will make your pouch say "don't swallow another bite!!" Best of luck to you!!!
  19. It just happened organically. No therapy, no self help books, it just happened naturally , and I think it happens to most of us over time...it just takes time. I'm a year ahead of you in the process (my surgery was 12/18/19), and it probably took about a year...maybe 13 months...to get to place I am now mentally. I also think that being thin helps me maintain that place in social situations. When I was heavy, not only did I want to eat the food, but then I also felt like people were judging me if I ate too much, too little, made healthy choices, made unhealthy choices, etc. Now that I'm tiny, I feel like nobody cares what I eat, and I can just do my own thing. I think that will happen to you too! At some point we just get out of our own head!!
  20. Surgery was the best medical decision I ever made! I just wish I had done it 5 years sooner!! It's embarrassing to admit how much I was obsessed with food prior to surgery. I was at a fast food drive thru at least once a day, if not twice a day. Parties were more about the food than they were about the people. Vacations were planned around what restaurants we would we go to. Not only do I have a brand new body, but I have a brand new mind! Now that I'm not thinking about food all of the time, I have this mental clarity that allows me to think about things that truly matter. I'm a better mother, better wife, and better friend. I truly love myself -- both inside and out!!!

    Stress Eating Post-Sleeve

I'm so sorry for the stress you are under! My advice would be to keep slider foods out of the house (chips, cookies, anything that you can eat a lot of without feeling restriction). When you feel the urge to snack, make it something protein packed that will fill you up. Lunch meat roll ups, cubed cheese, deviled eggs, etc. Help your tool do the work for you! Good luck!!

    Eating out after bypass

I'm 15 months post surgery (and in maintenance), and can eat about 1/2 of a cheeseburger and a few fries. It's great to be able to eat a little, enjoy the taste, and feel completely satisfied. In the beginning, I would feel full after one bite, so instead of ordering a burger for myself, I would just have a bite of my husband's burger instead. When I eat out, I usually order with the intention of having leftovers, so try to order things that will reheat well. If it's fast food, I'll opt for the kids meal, and still end up being able to share it with one of my kids.

    Need healthy chili recipe

https://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=233278 Can tweak it with different veggies, but basically any veggies take on the chili flavor so you can go crazy with the squash!
