    OOTD

Just wanted to say hello! Still working from home, and living in my jammies, hence the reason I never have any pics to post! LOL!!! Loving all of your pics though!! XOXO!!!!
  3. Last night was Back to School night for my 1st grader. Well you know how small their little desks and chairs are, and they had the parents sit and their child's desk. I fit perfectly! I think I looked really cute sitting there too, if I do say so myself. I would have taken a selfie if I could have gotten away without anyone noticing. Ha ha ha!!
  4. Woo Hoo!!! Congrats!!!!

    Four Days One Burrito

I love getting multiple meals out of my restaurant leftovers! Also, try the kids meal at Chipotle! It's a quesadilla, 3 sides, tortilla chips, and a drink for 4 bucks!!! I can get 2-3 meals out of it! P.S. Since my new pleasure is finding good kids meals, I'll also throw in a plug for Arbys! Roast beef sandwich, curly fries and a drink, also 4 bucks! I usually only get 1.5 meals out of this one though, and my husband scarfs down my leftovers!
  6. Awesome!!! Congrats!!!! Any more pics of your arm lift scar??? I'm thinking about it!!!
  7. I don't know how much your husband weighs, but there's a really easy way to lose around 180lbs before you even have surgery....just saying!!! Seriously though, I can't even imagine having a spouse so unsupportive that he refuses to pick you up from the hospital. It's not just being a bad spouse, it's being a bad person. Only thing I can recommend is counseling (for you) to realize your worth and help deal with your relationship. Good luck!!!!
  8. I was 46, and feel like I lost at the same pace as most others on here. Best decision I ever made. Good luck!!
  9. You will be great! You don't need much, as you will sleep pretty much all day/night following the surgery. I wore clothes to the hosp, changed into my gown, then the next day put my same clothes back on again. You don't even need to bring a toothbrush as they will give you one, unless of course you prefer your own toothbrush! Best of luck to you!!!
  10. I didn't tell anyone about my WLS (other than my husband), and I've been pleasantly surprised at people's reactions to my new style of eating. I will say 99% of them haven't commented on what I'm eating (and I assume they haven't even noticed b/c they are too busy eating their own meal), but the 1% that have commented have been positive about how healthy my meal looks, etc. I was always prepared if someone said "Is that all you are eating???" to respond that I had a big breakfast, or am going out to dinner later and want to save room for that, but I never coworkers or friends comment on my meals. I did have a friend's husband get a little rude (he was drunk) when I only ate the cheese off a slice of pizza, but he's the type of person that will find any reason to make fun of someone! LOL!! Best of luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My mommy makeover

Awesome!!! Congrats!! I had my MMO in January and next to WLS, it was the best thing I ever could have done!!

    Its Official

Awesome! I totally remember the excitement of scheduling that first appointment. Welcome to the rest of your life!!
  13. Another idea is to do something non-food related. Do you know how many lbs your friend has lost? Could get crafty with it! Maybe a beaded necklace with 1 bead for every lb lost, and then extra beads in a box for your friend to add to their necklace as they continue to lose weight? I'm sure there are lots of cool things you could make to represent their journey!
  14. My husband is very active, and I was previously very active too, but over the years as I gained weight, I could no longer keep up with him. He and a friend went on a week-long mountain biking trip and while he was away I started plotting my plan to be able to do the trip WITH him the following year. I called a surgeon, and was able to get in for my first class within a day or 2 of my call. When I picked my husband up from his trip, I told him all about my appointment and that I was going to have WLS. He was (and still is!) so supportive and so excited for me! OH yeah...the next year, we went on that mountain biking trip TOGETHER!!! It was during Covid, so we had to modify the route (campgrounds closed), but we did it!!! I looked super cute in my biking outfits too! LOL!!!
  15. Congrats!!! I remember the excitement of making that 1st appointment!!! Welcome to the rest of your life!!!!

    Pre op with a baby

The biggest issue will be fatigue. Hopefully baby still takes 2 naps a day, and if so, try to sleep when she sleeps!

    Pre op diet

Hang in there!!! The pre-op diet is the hardest part, but we've all done it!!! Best of luck with your surgery!!!

    Thigh lift

I don't have any experience so share, but am excited to follow your journey!!! My thighs are a mess, but I can't decide if it's worth it to do a lift yet!
  19. Congrats on the 100 lb milestone!!! Woo Hoo! As for chest pain after drinking, I usually only get it after eating, but I know the feeling you are talking about! I would just suggest taking smaller sips and slowing down a little bit to confirm "no pain" before you start drinking again. CONGRATS again!!!

    Surgery was aborted.

I'm so sorry!! I have heard of this happening to people who don't follow the pre-op diet, but even then it seems rare. Only you know if you did everything you were supposed to do. If you followed your instructions to a T, then tell your surgeon that, and tell him that you need to make sure this isn't going to happen again next time. If you weren't perfect on the pre-op diet, then you know to be perfect next time. Heck either way, you need to be perfect next time. As for losing another 20-30 lbs, I would white knuckle it, do mostly protein shakes, and basically live on the pre-op diet for the next 2 months. I'm so sorry, and can only imagine your frustration! I would be in tears also. Lots of HUGS!!!

    FDA approves anti obesity drug

I tried Saxenda, and it made me very nauseous (it felt like being newly pregnant), so while I did lose a little weight, it was b/c I felt too nauseated to eat. Wonder if this drug will be the same? I've also done Phentermine, Xenical, and Vyvanse ,plus a bunch of OTC stuff. I was always willing to try anything! LOL!! So glad that WLS was the tool that finally worked for me!

    Can I change my surgery?

As someone who has had much success with the bypass, I would say get the bypass!!!!! LOL!!! Seriously, it's amazing!!!! However, if you really want to switch, just talk to your surgeon about it. Might need to re-do the insurance approval, etc, as well!

    Restaurants

I love eating out, but in doing so, I generally accept the fact that whatever I get in a restaurant isn't going to be as healthy as if I had prepared it at home. I make up for it with portion control, and eating a little lighter in my other meals that day. Plus, any meal I get in a restaurant will result in leftovers, and I can usually turn 1 meal into 3 or 4 meals which is fun! I usually look at the menu online before I get there, and pick out my meal ahead of time. I do this to not only meal plan, but also to resist the temptation of ordering something else by not even looking at the menu when I get to the restaurant. As far as asking for no butter, etc, do not be afraid to order exactly as you want it. There are so many people with food allergies, vegan, gluten free, etc, that servers are used to special orders and won't bat an eye if you make any special requests.
  24. My starting weight was 230, and I wanted to lose an even 100, so set my goal at 130. When I told the nurse my goal, she looked at me like I was crazy, and said that losing 70lbs was more realistic. I pretended to go along with her, but again set my personal goal at 130. When I hit 130, I decided to go for 120. After that, I just naturally dropped a few more lbs, and seem to hover between 113-117. I was 114 this morning. I'm honestly not doing much in the way of effort to be this weight, and am happy with the way that I look. If it ever becomes a struggle to maintain, I wouldn't be opposed to going up to a 120-125 range...but for now, it's easy to just hang out where I am!
  25. You already look so amazing! Can't wait to see how smoking you will be after PS!!!! Excited to follow your journey!!!
