Hit goal today! (Loose skin pics)
ChubRub replied to ChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love it! Here’s the tag from the pants in my photos. XS Athleta on clearance! Still overpriced in my opinion, but I deserve it! Lol! The entire clearance rack was XS! I’m not truly an XS but can manage when it’s stretchy yoga pants! -
My concern would be getting in enough protein with nutrisystem. Is the problem meal planning or cooking? If it's cooking, just grab pre-made stuff at the grocery store, like rotisserie chicken, steamed shrimp, chicken salad from the deli, etc. Eggwhite omelettes are easy to make, and there's always my fave snack, greek yogurt! For the cost of nutrisystem, you could even order takeout a couple times per week and make 3-4 meals out of each takeout meal. You could also get Lean Cuisines and just pick out the protein and veggies. I can get 2 meals out of 1 lean cuisine. Just a few ideas!

This board is 100% my support system! My surgeon has in-person classes and a FB group, but I'm a private person and didn't want to run into anyone I might know. I love this board, and I hope you will too!!

Hit goal today! (Loose skin pics)
ChubRub replied to ChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much! Biggest benefit is definitely the way I'm able to move, run up a flight of stairs, carry in groceries without huffing and puffing. Basically the things that non-obese people take for granted! Favorite snack is greek yogurt, esp Dannon light n' fit caramel apple pie. Best NSV is hard, b/c there have been so many. I would choose buying clothes off the clearance rack. The reason being is that clearance rack clothes always seem to be size S or XS. Now I'm small enough to get the great deals! LOL! -
So glad you like it!! I got mine last month, wish I had gotten it sooner!

Gastric Sleeve Versus The Gastric Bypass Surgery
ChubRub replied to Numbheart's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went into my initial consult not really knowing much about either procedure. After the nurse gave her presentation, I knew that I wanted the RNY. I had mild GERD, and was concerned it would get worse with the sleeve. After I joined this board, I read a lot of stories about members having a revision from sleeve to RNY b/c of GERD which reinforced my choice. So far, so good!! I'm very happy with my surgery! -
Starting BMI was 40, and current is 23.

Healthier, But Lonelier
ChubRub replied to kc892020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry this has happened to you! I think it's time to find some new friends! I know it's hard to socialize during Covid, but do you have any hobbies or interests that would lend to joining a club? Gardening, hiking, skiing, cycling, golf, etc? If you could find some friends with non-food involved hobbies, then you would eliminate some of the problems. Likewise with dating, instead of going out to eat or to a bar, how about going hiking, skiing or playing mini golf. Just trying to think of a few ideas! -
How do you deal with people's opinions and comments?
ChubRub replied to breavsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mom doesn't know about my WLS, but every time I see her she says "I hope you don't want to lose anymore." She's been saying this for the last 20lbs. LOL! She's a bit of an a$$hole sometimes! LOL! She's been commenting on my weight (too thin, too fat, etc) and my body type ("You are soooo high waisted" "Your boobs are soooo big") my entire life. I basically say "BYE" and leave when she starts up with her nonsense. I haven't really seen many people b/c of Covid, so fingers crossed that everyone is kind! -
No worries! Get those liquids in! When you move on to solids you will feel restriction!

Get the Renpho scale from amazon. It's awesome! Best of luck to you!!

Favorite Grocery Products
ChubRub replied to ChubRub's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Scored these at Aldi today. They are both delicious. 80 calories for 2 tbsp but can easily make a serving out of only 1 tbsp and make it just 40 calls! -
I feel like I've tried every shake out there, but have yet to try a protein bar! I'm going camping and hiking, and am thinking that protein bars might be an easily portable lunch to throw in my backpack. Any recommendations? Preferably something that is yummy, and won't make me poop my pants (no bathrooms on the trail)! Thanks so much!

Greek yogurt! So many yummy flavors! Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Cheesecake, etc!

Thanks so much everyone! I'm hitting the grocery store today and bringing this list with me!

Well, this isn't what I imagined 1 year out
ChubRub replied to ahillig's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hope they can figure out what the problem is, and get it corrected. Please keep us posted! Good luck!! -
I'm 9 1/2 months out and still doing approx. 600 calories per day. Sometimes I go a little over if I eat out, etc. I'm nearing goal, but still in weight loss phase for now!

4 days post surgery missing fall food
ChubRub replied to Tb613's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Dannon light n' fit greek yogurt has a pumpkin pie flavor. Also, you can cook pumpkin or butternut squash and add pumpkin spice to it. Basically any flavor your are craving can be re-created with the right spices! -
Congratulations!!! You are doing great, and should feel very proud!!!
