Things I won't miss about being fat!
ChubRub replied to ChubRub's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Regarding men - Covid has increased my game! When I'm wearing a mask and sunglasses, I must look a lot younger b/c I will catch 20 somethings checking me out. Of course if I took off my mask and sunglasses they would realize I'm their mom's age and run away! LOL!!!! -

A fun thread! No matter where you are in your weight loss journey, what are some of the things you WON'T miss about being fat? I won't miss: Wearing black stretch pants every day b/c they were the only thing that fit. Avoiding social situations (high school reunions, etc!) where I might run into people that didn't know I was fat. Chub Rub! (even though it's my BP name!) Hiding from cameras, and worrying about others posting pics of me on FB. Worrying if I would fit in the airplane seat. Crying in the shower. Going to back to school night and watching all the skinny moms sitting at their kids desks and looking perfectly comfortable, while I tried to squeeze one butt cheek on the chair. I'm sure I will think of some more, but here is my starter list for now!!! -
Great pic!! Adorable couple!!!

Try Popsugar Fitness on YouTube (free videos). Yoga and Barre would both be great for improving flexibility (and increasing core strength)!

College Student - Gastric Bypass during semester?

I think you will be fine! The biggest issue is fatigue, but you should be able to find a little time each day to take a nap to recharge your batteries!! -
Welcome to the board!! I don't know much about the DS, but there are many here who have found success with the DS, RNY, and Sleeve! I had RNY myself! The upside to being self-pay is there is no mandatory waiting period, so as soon as you and your surgeon make a plan, you can get scheduled!!! Best of luck to you!

Another Aldi find! This is not super healthy and definitely not meant for those who just had surgery, but OMG these chicken cutlets are amazing. Taste just like Chick-fil-A. I just eat a half of one and I'm stuffed, but for the family, they get a whole one on brioche buns (also from Aldi) with a couple pickles and they gobble it right up! -
Woo hoo!!! You already look amazing, so I can't wait to see your PS results!!!

Woot woot!!! I'm so excited for you!!!!

Protein and Water Intake 7 Days Post Op
ChubRub replied to ANewJourneyAwaits's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nurse told me not to worry about protein in the beginning, and that it was basically impossible to get it all in when we are taking in such small amounts of liquid (and even in the puree stage as well). Just make sure you are staying hydrated. Best of luck to you!!!! -
Happy Surgeversary!!!! Enjoy your new life!!!!!!

I should have ordered mine earlier! It's expected to arrive 1/12 or 1/13, and my surgery is on the 12th! Hopefully it gets here early! Worse case I'll prop up with pillows for the first night! -

They actually required that I take it this far out. Said it's in case I get a false positive and need to retest. Also required that I take the test here in FL, which is why I'm here already! The test was easy, but like you, I'm nervous for the results!! Fingers crossed!!! -

I'm in Florida and took my Covid test today! I also ordered a cheap recliner off Amazon for post-surgery recovery. Yesterday, I had another virtual consult with my surgeon to go over the basics, and then I go in for my in person pre-op next week. I was told to bring a bikini for incision purposes, but of course I don't even own one! LOL!! She said a pair of underwear similar to the type of bikini bottoms I want to wear will suffice. Not much else to report, other than enjoying some the warm weather!! Happy New Year everyone! -
I pre-make breakfast sandwiches using protein pancakes, turkey sausage, and cheese. The pancakes are the "bread" of the sandwich. I slice them in half, and get 2 breakfasts out of each sandwich.
