Any one have issues digesting lettuce? I am 9 months out and no matter what type of lettuce I try; it does not agree with me. Will I have to scratch lettuce off my menu forever?!

What are your recent NSVs? I'm 11 days post op. And I have a couple NSVs: 1. My sister had a pool yesterday and she ordered pizza, wings and fries and I was not tempted by any of it! I was so worried about the food temptation, I almost canceled. 2. I meal prepped (first time ever) and brought my lunch and snack to the party. 3. I was comfortably able to tie my shoes while sitting in a chair. (Heeeeyyy) 4. I ran after small kids at a pool party.

Therapy...how in the world do you figure this out?
futurefinemama replied to Lillimint's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am currently in therapy. I continued with my therapist who completed my psych evaluation. And the plus with this counselor is that he is a certified bariatric counselor. He is able to address my current weight loss journey that my previous counselor sorta did not have a clue. I am a stress eater, so we mainly talk about life issues that stress me. And this strategy helps because I feel like I can decompress every week. -

I'm bracing myself for the hair loss. I had to take blood thinner injections before my surgery for 5 months and my hair thinned at the top of my head. My hair has just now thickened up, I do not want to go through hair loss. But just in case, I have a couple of wigs picked out. -

And it will pass. The stalls are hard to get through. My longest stall was 3 weeks too, then the next week I lost 7lbs. keep pushing. -

Thank you so much! I do think the Pre-Op nerves are the worst. But this was a good decision for me. I feel like I am regaining my life. -

Forgot to add my stats: I lost 36lbs Pre Op and 61lbs Post Op. I tend to lose majority of my weight in the first two weeks of the month and then I stall the rest of the month. I TRY to walk 3 miles every morning and do some strength exercises at night. I love walking but I absolutely hate strength exercise, I have no upper body strength. Uuuggh, the struggle. My food intake is okay. I'm nervous because I feel my appetite increasing. And I had a sip of margarita. Let's just say I won't try that again for while. I instantly felt nauseous. The only issue I have right now, any time I eat tomato sauce I get heartburn. -
I'm thankful I am almost 100lbs down from my highest weight back in Aug 2019. From now on, I'm taking all pics like this!!!

I'm almost 8 weeks out. I experienced acid reflux in my first week, never had issues pre-op. It was a burning sensation in my chest and mainly in my throat. And I had an aftertaste of pan sausage. It was weird because I hadn't eaten sausage. My doc prescribed Sucralfate (liquid 3x day) and Pantorprazole (pill 1x day). I do not take either medicine on a regular anymore. However, I do take a dosage of Sucralfate after I eat tomato sauce. I would run your issues by your team, it's better to get a head of it, just in case it is acid reflux/GERD.

CONGRATS!!!!! Happy for you! -
I am a little over 6 weeks out and I know this is weird but I workout in shapewear. Not necessarily Spanx but I have a non name brand panty girdle (i'm ol' skool) I got it from Catherine's. If I workout without the panty girdle, my stomach is on hang time. My incisions have healed and I first wore it about 4 weeks out.

Anyone know of a forum for those whose surgery did not help them?

Okay, no problem. But you might wanna check out FB, they have some groups dealing with food addiction that are not affiliated with OA. -
Stairs after surgery
futurefinemama replied to Space.Crab's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have a flight of stairs in my house, so I climbed the stairs at least twice a day the first week. Only problem I had was my equilibrium. So, I did take my time going down the stairs, I was a little dizzy. But after the first full week, I was back to normal. -
I've worn leggings and long shirts and maxi dresses. But I work remote most days, so I don't have a need for office wear yet.

Hey, I just did a quick search and here is the link for Over-eaters Anonymous: https://oa.org and there are some OA groups on Facebook, hope this helps.
