You have not failed, you are just at a road block. Sounds like you need to talk to someone about your weight issues. Like a lot of people you can loose the weight to a point, but then it stops and you go back to your old habbits. I think that it is because we haven't delt with our emotional issues about food. I know for myself that when I get to a certain point I always end up right back where I started because there is a wall that I need break through, and talking to someone who can help you get past that really helps. Don't give up, just take a step back and look at the success you have had. No one was meant to be over weight, it is just a challenge that we have to deal with in our lives.

New guys needs some advice
CarrieR25 replied to Extreme's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doctor told me, that if you loose between surgery and your first fill it is a bonus. They even say that you may gain in this time. I only lost about 5lbs between surgery and my first fill. I have now had my second fill and I am starting to really loose now. Just be patient and let your body heal, then when you get your first fill the lbs will start to fall off. -
I had my first fill on July 9th last Wednesday. After three days I feel like I am right back to where I was before the fill. I am still getting hungry especially in the evenings. Does this mean that I need to go in for another fill right away or do I have to wait a period of time. I am really confused. :confused2:

I was banded on June 2. I have told my family, some co-workers, and a couple close friends. I have mixed reviews. Some people who I thought were going to be supportive were not, and the people who I was worried about have been my biggest supporters. I don't think that I will be telling anyone else right now. I feel like I have told enough people who can help me along the journey, but no one else needs to know at this time. I think that it is important to tell the people who are going to help you along the way. Like someone said "you can't untell anyone," so my advice would be to really think about who you are telling.

At 5 weeks and can eat everything and lots of it
CarrieR25 replied to dan59's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am at four weeks and also have lost 15lbs, and feeling the same way you are. I am hoping that after the first fill I will fill full again. Everything that I have read, and everyone I have talked to said that the first fill will help, and that this is normal for this stage of the game. -
I am doing really well till dinner, then for some reason I feel like I need to eat more, and then I am finding I am over eatting. How are you finding your portion control?

I had my Lap Band Surgery on June 2 and I am doing quite well. I was really nervous, but quite surprised how easy it was. I am now on week three and trying to figure out this process, and see what is ahead.
