Medications after surgery?????? Please advise
LastChance57 replied to Linda72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery on 10/2/19 and received injections in the hospital. I have a 2 week prescription of it now that I’m home. I doesn’t hurt too much to administer. I have a very strong family history. Blood clots can kill you, so I was relieved to have coverage for 2 weeks. -

Thanks for the beanie and gasx info! However, I’m really sorry to hear about your prescription for pills instead of liquid. Can you call them and ask for the liquid form? They should have given you the liquid Tylenol with codeine. Everyone seems to know that we are not to swallow pills in the beginning stages. I was told by my doctor’s office to crush non-time release pills b/c they can’t be swallowed. The nurses told me in the hospital that liquid Tylenol with codeine is the same as Tramadol. I hope this info will help in some ways. -

I agree with Panda333. Blood clots can also form and he’s probably waiting until you have healed first. -
That looks and sounds wonderful!! I’m going to try it! Thanks!!

57 yo from Virginia. I had gastric bypass on 10/2/19. -
I froze a lot of the Premier Protein Premier Clear Protein Drink at 20 gms of protein in 4 ounce disposable zip popsicle bags. Some flavors are too sweet to me but taste great frozen.

Hi Cherylmilla, I had my gastric bypass surgery on 10/2/19 with hiatal hernia repair & gallbladder Removal. It’s nice to meet you! Horrible gas pains (even in my chest and shoulders), per Hospital, and soreness where gallbladder used to be & hernia site. I’ve been taking Tylenol - with codeine for pain and walking around my house a lot. I froze a lot of my protein water (20 gms) at 4 oz a pkg but was only able to get 2 down when I came home from hospital yesterday. I woke up early today to start sipping my 1 oz of water - which has been hard when I fill my new stomach up. Regarding the horrible gas, I saw a post where their doctor approved otc Gasx. Hoping it will be a viable option for me. -
Same here. On 10/2/19 I had gallbladder removed and hernia repair. I came home and slept but I don’t have a lot of pain either.

Great Job! You look great!!

I’m almost 3 days post op. I’m having problems too. I made popsicles while on pre-op diet out of my protein water but they are only 4 oz a piece and I only could get two down yesterday.
