What vitamins and supplements do you still take?
LadyVS replied to KaysMommy's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm 8 yrs out lapband patient and getting ready to revise to VSG. I am still taking women's multi-vitamins. That's it, nothing else. Continued success on your journey. -
Always watch your sugar intake and how many carbs you eat throughout the day.

So, what did YOU decide? -
I have vegetable broth, but pickle juice? I'm not sure I will be able to handle that with gastritis and I LOVE pickle juice. 🥒🍵🙂 Thanks for the info.

Glad to know I'm not by myself. 🙂 We will get through this. Good luck next week.

Trying again/My Story: PreOP Diet #2
LadyVS replied to LadyVS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Because if you look at my BMI according to my height, I am considered obese. Your liver is positioned over the stomach and has to be moved out the way so that the doctor can get to the stomach. -
Yes, my story is in the revision section. I didn't have to do the whole 14 days, just 4; but I decided on my own to start sooner. I'm glad I did because I have been sick and nauseous ever since. I actually just posted again in the preop diet section. Hope we feel better soon.

Hello and good day all. Today I'm starting the first day of my preOP diet. I actually only have to do it for the first four days before surgery which is on the 21st; however, after I realized that I have gained 74 of the 99 pounds I lost, I decided to get my head in the game and do this for two weeks like I did 8 1/2 years ago when I was banded. I am just as excited today as I was in November 2010 when I first did the liquid diet. I only lost 8 lbs before surgery but it was a lost. I will see how my body acts now that I'm older. Day 7: Today, no liquids all day. I have to have some solid food. My stomach is so not right, I'm totally gassy. I'm just all around not feeling well. I've been nauseous all day. I just don't know how I'm going to do this. 🤢🙁 I can't wait until tomorrow gets here so that I can let my doctor know.

Anyone live in Northeast Austin or Pflugerville Texas? Free 2wk pre-op diet broths & shakes!
LadyVS replied to MeowAMR's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello and good morning. I was looking at the map to see which city was an in between for us. Could you meet me in Brenham on Sunday afternoon? -
Day 3 continued: So after my hunger headache passed, I was doing well until after I came home from therapy on my foot. I was very nauseous to the point of throwing up. I think I am taking in too much protein, so today I am going to limit each of my shakes to a half a scoop. I forgot I was diagnosed with gastritis so I'm guessing that is possibly why my doc only wanted me to do this for just the four days before my surgery. After taking 3 of my Zofran's (usally take one), I managed to take a couple of bites of a banana to help calm my stomach down. It did work. This morning I am feeling a little discomfort in my abdominal area. I had to stop typing and take my medicine because I'm feeling 🤢. That being said, I don't think I can tolerate any broth today either. I didn't drink any yesterday as well. I am going to eat some jello and I may be able to tolerate a popsicle. I will see how I'm feeling later. I'm really gassy though. Another part of the process I don't like.

☀️ Have you had VSG to Loop DS/ Sadi-s Revision? Share your experience🌙
LadyVS replied to SlimDreams's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi there. Getting pregnant and gaining weight totally sucks! I recall my first pregnancy, I gained 50 pounds! It was mostly fluid. My second pregnancy, I think I gained 30-32lbs. Anyway, I'm assuming since no one has responded that they do not have any experience with this particular doctor, nor flying after two days after surgery. Thanks for sharing the podcast as it was quite informative. Good luck on your journey. -
Day 1: Well I'm off to a great start. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I did however forget that you constantly have to go to the bathroom while on this diet. I COMPLETELY forgot!!!!!!😱🚽 🍶🍮🥣🍡☕ So my liquids consist of 48 oz of water, one or two sugar free jellos, one or two sugar free popsicles, two servings of broth (lunch/dinner), and of course coffee and/or tea. Oh yeah and PROTEIN SHAKES ALL DAY LONG EVERY TWO HOURS or so!!!!!! Yes!!!!! Because I really don't have to do this until 4 days before my surgery on the 21st which is a week and a half away , I ate a hand full of boiled shrimp with zucchini, mushrooms, and onions. If you look at my ticker, you will see the fluid is being released. HALLELUJAH!!!!💃 Now starting day 2 off with my coffee, water, and protein shake. 🙂

Thank you. 😊

Here I am on October 4, 2019 thinking back over my Lapband journey and how I thought I would be banded for life. Unfortunately, I have been sick for some time, and am on medications; and well my weight has constantly slowly increased. I was 225 pounds when I had my Lapband surgery on Dec. 17, 2010. At least my weight hasn't reached 210. I have been fluctuating between 202-206. For that, I'm grateful. I'm just excited to be able to have another tool to assist me with my weight loss journey. I'm not looking forward to the liquid stage, however.
