Once you start phase 2 you should really only be losing about a pound or two per week. And your weight loss will fluctuate. There was one week where I only lost half a pound and then the next week I lost 4. It varies. DON'T WEIGH DAILY. Weigh yourself weekly.

Has this gotten any better?

As soon as you can tolerate capsules go that route. I never found a chewable I liked.

Gastric Sleeve & Food Addiction
BQCadet replied to Jenna_87's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm not hungry, but food looks so good. I will admit that I have taken a bite of pizza, chewed it up, and spit it in the trash. Just have to try and stay disciplined -
Two weeks out and sometimes I have to run to bathroom
BQCadet replied to BQT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Dumping is when you eat too much sugar/carbs and it moves through your digestive system too quickly. It causes you to feel terrible and gives you some bad diarrhea. You'll definitely know when it's happening -
Walk as much as you can physically stand it. Helps get rid of the gas

What Daisee said is absolutely right. People that treat other people like this have a problem with themselves. They take it out on others because it is easier than dealing with their own problems. My advice is to engage her only when she talks to you first, and even then just be nice but not personable. The single greatest change I made in my life the older I got was to stop trying to make everyone like me or caring if they do or don't. Just be yourself and if someone doesn't like you then that's their problem. It is not your responsibility to change their mind. Jesus told us to love everyone, that is true. He did not, however, tell us that we had to actively seek out people that didn't like us to try and make them like us. Be kind and compasionate, but do not put yourself in abusive positions.

Whoops. I totally meant to put >8g of sugar

You look absolutely incredible. And what's more, I bet you feel amazing too! Gorgeous!

The rule of thumb is that you can have about 8g of sugar per day. If it's less than that, I think you'd be okay. Remember though, this is PER DAY, not per meal. Sugar will lead you to dumping syndrome and you don't want that.

Each person is different and your weight WILL fluctuate. Just stick to a high protein, >20g carbs, > 20g sugar diet. Also make sure you stay active. Exercise at least 30-45 minutes 6 times a week and the weight will start falling off in no time.

Week 1 Post-op Advice & Experiences
BQCadet replied to Bree03's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Day of surgery I had some pretty bad gas pain. But that was because they had to blow my stomach up to make sure there were no leaks after they had cut out the rest. I was not given any opiates because they slow down the gut and that is obviously not ideal. I was given Tramadol and was told to take liquid Tylenol and that took care of the pain fine. I was back working out 4 days after surgery. I'm three weeks out and the thing no one really prepared me for is how easily you get tired. Because of your low caloric intake, and your body using that energy to burn the fat off of your body, you get tired QUICK (or at least I do). I find myself going to bed super early and sleeping as much as I can. The other thing I struggle with is getting enough protein and water. I am never, and I do mean never, hungry. I am, however, CONSTANTLY thirsty. You can't have food within 30 minutes of drinking (unless it is a protein drink) and since I am constantly drinking, I forget to stop so I can eat. It's tough and I'm sure it's not helping my energy levels. I am probably getting between 60-75 grams of protein per day, but I know you wanna be closer to 90. I know things will normalize soon, and I am losing a lot of weight. The ends justify the means -
I'm about 3 weeks post op and I don't like the taste of pretty much anything either. It really is normal and I'm told it changes over time.

Protein shakes besides Bariatric advantage that you like?
BQCadet replied to BQT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
ABSOLUTELY this. Love Premiere before surgery. Can't stand them now. I lean on the Iso-Pure drinks by Natures best. They are great if you don't want thick chocolate oor other sweet shake like drinks. They taste like weird Koolaid. The 20 oz bottles have 40 g of protein too. -

There is practically no chance you will never eat or drink anything bad again. Doing something once or twice is not going to derail you unless you let it snowball into habits. Don't beat yourself up. If you think I'm never going to eat a piece of pizza again post op you are crazy. I'm just going to do it very rarely and in extreme moderation.
