The day of surgery you will go into the Pre Op area and get checked and ready to go to the OR. You will meet your doc and the sleep doc and go over some things. A nurse will clean your stomach and you will be in a Rolling bed - Tell the sleep Doc you are nervous and he will give you a med to help you relax, Then into the OR you get rolled and that was the last thing i recall one wiff of the happy gas and its lights out. For me i woke up in the recovery area with this nurse yelling at me to breath breath breath - This is my whole life of women yelling at me first thing when i wake up. Then its off to the room and Rest. As soon as you can and trust me on this Walk and move - The faster you get out of bed and move move move the better you will be, You need to get the air and gas moving out, So walk the halls as much as you can. I stayed on the morphine cuz i love drugs, but the pain was not bad at all and i was out in of there in less then 28 hours and home,

AJ Tylo replied to DagF's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try Dr Bass at Gulf Coast Bariatrics in Naples Florida - He is flexible and understands some people want it for health reasons. If you Pm me will give you my name to mention - Me and my brother had it done by him - Very good and very understandable. If you do use him let me know will tell you where to stay and such -
Issues with solids. Plz help me!!!
AJ Tylo replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chicken is a NO go for most people, Also there is not set time on eating again, I am 7 months post and still really do not eat alot. My advice is slow down let your body decide - Start with a Shrimp or Crab or soft white fish like halibut No oils no fats good quaility and eat it slow - It will pass and eventually you will be good to go. I agree also puree it Nothing better then a lobster tail pureed into a paste and eaten slowly. Have fun its a journey and it will all come with time -
What was your diet pre op like?
AJ Tylo replied to Ninja-slash-nerd's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Pure liquids yes it sucks a few tips Bone Broth fills you up drink it often and find something to pass the time to get your mind off food TV, Movie, Work, Sex, Dog, go outside, Totally do stuff you never do and then when it gets really bad SLEEP just got to sleep Also going to get yelled at by this one but Vodka and WIne are liquids - Really helped me -
Gotta admit it is wearing on my nerves big time the social and questions. Went out last night with a girl i have know for years, We ended up at a old stopping ground a place called Rusty\s Bar and grill. I have been there for decades and just know a ton of people who hang there, For the first freakin hours its what happened to you? Are you sick? You don't drink anymore? You in AA? and we are not just talking about a few people had to be like 20. See Monday night is a bar night in Florida so the place was packed and its season now so we are over crowded with people. Complete insanity Total pain in the Ass after a hour or so i just asked her if we can get out of here, Guess with WLS a lot of things change in your life. Lucky she is a good friend and i only see her during the season when she comes down with the snowbirds, So my goal now is to see everyone i know and get this bu rage of questions and bullshit out of the way so life can go back to normal, or Do i pull a Ted Kisinsky and move to a small cabin i the woods? or even better get serious with a wife? All these choices all due to a Sleeve surgery. My conclusion is people are a pain in the ass and latch on to something different, Funny thing is most of them are unhealthy, Alcoholics, and lost! Had no clue getting the sleeve would impact so many other factors in the world, So if i could go back to the decision time to do this Sleeve i still would do it 100% sure of that. Any little remote cabins for sale out there - people free!

How to Break a Stall (Step by Step instructions)
AJ Tylo replied to GreenTealael's topic in The Lounge
is this what you guys are asking Open the gate to the stall -
I have no clue and i would eat more if i could but eating sucks for me still, Getting better as we move along and I am currently working on my plan for maintananence This week going to try and i mean try to get it up to 750 calories - Biggest problem i have is I only eat one meal, usually a few shrimp or a piece of fish, if Fluffy says ok i will eat M and M's and a Vodka Tonic to get those calories up
-
I agree its low but I am on a mission to get this down and off of me. I do not struggle at all because I really have a hard time eating, So to avoid the pain i just simply do not eat. I have a nutritionist that is busting my ass to get the calories up. I realize by the first of the year i have to get the count up but riding the journey down as long as i can. I am addicted to supplements, vitamins and minerals and really feel good, so this calorie thing for me is actually kinda easy. Big fear is when i do bump up calories that i put on weight -
-
You have to have issues to eat that stuff - However my Doctor told me he did a lady once who left the hospital and went to a all you can eat bufffet, She ended up in the ER and Died the next day. I was just making light of our little tests we get. See I am a Adam and I would have eaten the dang apple also, - FYI has nothing to do with this thread - but I am tired of working and really need a life change! Wonder what i could do next year? Is NASA hiring?
