As a big time flusher with diet coke and other beverages during meals post op, I agree with above 100 percent correct, However you will get use to it quickly i did. I was one of those who would make the poor waitress refill 3 times during a meal, now it does not bother me at all. FYI - Alot of it is in your head, it was in mine

To much to quick SLOW DOWN YOU HAVE A JOURNEY NOT A SPRINT Transition slowly mix up purred with liquids if you feel good on liquids stay mostly there - NO Pain or dumping keep pushing it and you will regret saying that. Read this site it take 4 weeks to transition as a average from liquids to purred to soft foods - Most of us longer, so trust me on this slow down

Welcome to the journey and Do not worry about the money you will save that in food the first year

I have no feelings in the tummy Never hungry and can go days on end without eating, Once you feel the little bit of pressure, not pain Stop eating - I am not one for measuring out food and such so i can eye what i can handle, I can handle about 4 oz and that i what i eye out - Now do i eat that? No way i just pick. Sunday i decided to see just how much i could get down so i weighed out 4 oz of prime rib cut really small and wet. Felt the pressure after 3 oz by 4 oz felt like hell! Did not toss it up, but really uncomfortable for awhile I just eye small piles of healthy food and snack em down over time - Kinda a red neck way to eat but it has been working

Nobody on this forum is perfect except me! JK Do not fret that it happens you have to live normally - Most of that event was in your head, As a chef you have to taste food while prepping it, but like said before ................. You did not get the ticket to the obese ball cuz you just tasted while cooking.

This is me for sure looking like being sick - I will see in January if it changes will be on normal eating schedule and on maintenance so looking forward to it - THIS WLS STUFF IS A PAIN IN THE ASS! but still the best decision i have made, If i go below 245 that will not work at all for me. Been on BP meds for a few years - Same here mine spiked right after surgery, Doc said it was due to the no food and body going thru hell - Now mine is perfect )Had nothing to do with the 100 pounds i took off the ticker) Jk - I actually am moving to get off them now and seems i might be able to. I was told to monitor it regularly for the first 30 days - Take it right when you get up that is the critical one showing the body at rest

Get the prescibed medication from your doctor - I have a post of the ones i use and they work great Also a big mistake i was doing was drinking water then laying down, It would flush back up with acid - Hurts like hell

Just sent this to my good buddy who is the Top OBGYN in Naples - he has never heard of a conflict between WLS and conception. WIsh you good luck - I have been thru it from the males end and it is tough, Just hang in there i have two great kids now, but it was a bumpy ride for us also.

If its anything like Turkey Day it sucked! I also do all the cooking and Dread this - Here is a idea i had this year - Christmas eve is all finger foods, Shrimp, Oysters, Scallops all stuff i can eat, Now there will be Unhealthy food also but most will be clean and simple eat with your fingers and leave! Christmas day I am going really simple - One large bone in Leg of Ham and due to the fact my family all loves ribs cut individually - I am not doing the sides this year except for a large Carbo Killer of lobster mac and cheese. I explained to them all you want bull **** food bring it but I am not doing it - As for sweets we decided to just get ice cream and call it a end to the day! Good luck and use drugs to get thru it - I will for sure have my little hidden bag of vodka jello shots somewhere around the kitchen.

Going to be a slow go - I would say at most 10 days. Make sure you move and move around a ton right after surgery, It gets better every day! Its the law for medical leave so try and shorten your shifts down a little to 5 hours may be a lot easier, but wait to you see how easy 8 will be when you drop a 100 pounds

Ok for those of you who love soup and are leaning towards liquids time to buy yourself base! I have been using this commercial product even prior to WLS - As a chef this is the best you can get, the product is good and you will be happy! I just ordered this and I will tell you it will last you all year, Hint when you buy the boxes or cans of broth they have a ton of enhancements in them and chemicals. It is not hard to make soup so use this instead - Healthy and Happy! The powder if done right can be way better - I use the peanut flavored ones and they are taste free when i add them - I am a trained chef so i can pick up flavor real quick - Also try this one very smooth and virtually taste free - The matrix one available online

I agree the greatest thing after losing a 100 pounds is no more ache and pains and can go do just about anything i want to do, Pre surgery was limited because of my size and condition. Now its just have fun all the time Date fish beach outside and of course you gotta work still

Get the sleeve it seems important to you - They make great meds for the acid reflux

Everyone has a view. But i would agree to get informed, For me it was the best decision i made, But it is a journey and there are downsides, I would read this whole site and YOU and only YOU make the decision

May want to try it at home first Chicken for most of us does not end well I am chicken free now but prior to the sleeve would eat the hell out of it
