Scary stuff.... i hope im ready for this
AJ Tylo replied to JAKE H's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You are 100% correct and i lost about 40 percent of my muscle mass! Next week going in for a scan for the exact number but never saw this coming = At 377 i could lift anything, grab full coolers of ice and fish, Fight fish, move a 50 pound bag of dog food like it was nothing. Now I am a freaking weak as hell. For the first 3 weeks of cross fit i was on a very low calorie diet and that just burned of a little fat but tons of muscle, I actually got weaker after 3 weeks doing it wrong. MRE lite powder saved my ass - Now i slam a shake of it 2 hours before working out and seems to help. You can get it on Amazon and its about 500 healthy calories per shake - By the way you go first Jake on the maintenance phase, I want to stay on the schedule i am on till i quit smoking because i know that is going to be a massive Head F#@cking and will mess up everything. Great thread and great posts by everyone AJ -
Scary stuff.... i hope im ready for this
AJ Tylo replied to JAKE H's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Jake - Just went thru the same thing 3 weeks ago and my answer is NO. I have tried but fall short almost every day, Plus I am cheating, For example this morning after Crossfit i took two pieces of toast. Butter and Homemade peanut butter (Honey Roasted) - That is about 500 calories but it took me nearly two hours at my desk to get it down. No its 11 and lunch is coming and not hugry at all. My Nutra girl have me hitting a few hershey kisses thru the day to get calories and energy. The meal powders add some calories but nothing for energy. It is hard to get the calories in without the carbs and sugar. Not sure how much you can eat but i can not eat that much at all. Unless its junk food for calories it is very hard to do. I stopped and stalled at 850 Calories so as long as i hit that I do not loose any more. By the way you Rocked this weight lose, we both had surgerys within 10 days - I actually am finding this to be harder then losing weight- Quick question you skin getting tighter from Working out? Mine is not or very little -
There is not one person in here who has not had head games! No doubt you re not alone, yes this is very difficult to adjust to the new life of healthy and fit! Vs the old life that would have killed us all! As for loving myself Im a guy so not into all that emotion, but surely alot happier Good luck

Surgery this month, wife threatening divorce
AJ Tylo replied to Xx1jpt5xx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would sleep with a eye open! But back to the facts - Whoever told her this is a scam is a fat person that could not afford it or stay on course. As a male speaking from my own experience, you will shred the weight and most importantly you will be healthy and feel much better. This sounds cold and I am sure some females will jump down my ass about this, but this is your decision and her input is appreciated but irrelevant. Only you have to decide this - It is not her journey so why others stick there to sense into it is beyond me, and to threaten divorce! Ask her nicely if she would wait to divorce you till you are thin, that way you are healthy and happy! That should get her attention! Bottom line you make the decision but i can tell you that the members here have lost 5,210,466 pounds Look to the left at the bottom. So if WLS was a scam how did it get to 5 million plus pounds. Congrads on the new baby and Is you wife large also? If so she may be jealous of the surgery and insecure of the procedure -
At three weeks i would be eating really mellow foods that are wet and easy to digest - I was bolted to my food processor at that point and still use it a lot- I prefer pulled meats or even ground meats vs a solid steak! I would rather grind a nice rib eye then cook it whole. I prefer to not chew the hell out of everything that is why they made food processors and grinders. Better way to eat then using your mouth to grind up solids. But we all have tested the belly and lost so like everyone else Trial and error and take it slow, Real slow. I

AJ Tylo replied to TopNotchMami's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Why did i read this thread, as a male i say yes it will - The only safe thing to do is orally satisfy him, Its not his fault you had the surgery but this is a solution i feel best! As for in the ear above- Never tried that but ear F@#cking must be some sort of new thing! So for all you post op who have followed the guidelines and hit a few ears or had there ears hit any suggestions -
WOW - Not as long post Op but wishing you luck on this. May be head games, No way you can be that hungry, I suggest you look at yourself in the mirror and then go find old photos of yourself before, That should scare the f#$ck out of you to imagine going back to being that unhealthy and unhappy. Do you really want to go thru all that work again or possibly never be able to do it again? OVER FOOD? my logo stands strong f@#CK FOOD!

Just finished 1st week of liquid diet
AJ Tylo replied to ThatDudeCK's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Stay on your plan but going to add to it a little- That is a plan broad spectrum for all patients - YOU BODY WILL BE THE FINAL JUDGE AND JURY. You will see it all over this place do not rush it, let you body heal and tell you what it wants to do. Take it slow, the longer and slower you transition the easier it will be on the healing and body. To this day i prefer soups and liquids over hard food, just easier to get down and deal with. Welcome to the group and ask away we have all been there and others before us helped us so we are paying it forward -
I am in the same boat everyone above is correct - I had to stop cross fit every day and only go 4 times a week, I had to Really up my eating and supplements. My nutritionist put me on a great healthy diet of a lot of food but healthy food to slow down the weight loss. The goal was to tighten up and add muscle at the same rate as the loss. Simply put you are losing fat but want to add muscle, I went up to 800 -1000 calories a day from 600 and lots of supplements and it slowed it down to about 2 pounds a week in loss and adding muscle and toning up

Hell no you have a goal to get healthy! Get to the high school weight and healthy = This is you life do with it what you want

AJ Tylo replied to slowlydoesit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
you will be fine and yes i traveled right after - Just plan accordingly -
Try this one to start - I love it but double up the Cinamin and do not worry about finding that squash - Carrot/Squash 3 large carrots - Mixed color ones are better tasting 1/2 inch fresh ginger - Screw fresh get a tube easy 1/4 kabocha squash, peeled, seeded and roasted - Slow cook it for about two hours in a baking dish 1/2 cup coconut water 1/4 cup raw cashews 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup -Good stuff not pancake chemical syrup i get it from Seed to table 1 teaspoon cinnamon - Double this up if you like it or use Steva

SuperBowl food
AJ Tylo replied to GettinSkinnywithit's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
INGREDIENTS 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 2 teaspoons minced garlic 2 cups cooked chicken shredded 1/2 cup Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce 8 oz (250g) g block cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup white Cheddar cheese freshly shredded 1/4 cup American cheddar freshly shredded 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional to serve) 2 teaspoons green onions, sliced ( or chives) Celery sticks carrot sticks, tortilla chips, crusty bread pieces, potato chips, for serving INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange oven rack to the middle of your oven. In an 8-inch cast-iron skillet (or an ovenproof pan), melt the butter over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant (30 seconds). Add the chicken and hot sauce and simmer until sauce has thickened and reduced by half (about 2 minutes). Reduce heat to low and stir in cream cheese; mix until combined. Take off heat, stir through sour cream and top with both cheddar cheese(s) over the top. Bake until bubbling around the edges and the cheese has melted (about 10 minutes). Broil (or grill) for a further minute to brown on top. Immediately garnish with blue cheese and green onions. Serve with vegetable sticks, chips, crusty bread pieces for dipping. NOTES If you don't have a cast-iron skillet or oven-proof pan: prepare all ingredients as per recipe instructions above in a regular pan on the stove. Then transfer buffalo dip to a 1-quart (1-litre) baking dish. You can use rotisserie chicken. Don't like blue cheese? Feel free to omit it. Halve the hot sauce amount for a milder dip. Add more hot sauce for spicier dip. NUTRITION Calories: 306kcal | Carbohydrates: 2g | Protein: 19g | Fat: 27g | Saturated Fat: 10g -

It all depends on you Stay on a very low calorie diet - Move and walk, Follow the rules and it will flow off you. As you can see by my stats i flowed off me, This is a mind game also so get your mind and body in control and enjoy the journey, Being healthy is a great feeling I would say the expect 15 pounds a month as a average for a female but the harder you work at it the better you will be off Enjoy and congratulations
-
Ok this may be hard but can be done - I am culinary trained so this was not to hard for me, Couple of things that really help, Since you do not like green go white. Things like Yucca, Cucumber, carrot, Even your squash can be blend into purees, Now to convert them to a smoothie add Greek Plain Yogurt, Ice and Almond Milk. Blend 1/3 of each is a good balance. If you add few blueberry or strawberry the flavor will take over. Going to a good store and looking at the vegetables Grab a few and puree them up. Also Peanut butter powder will mask most tastes so will fruit like blueberry Pineapple https://www.shape.com/healthy-eating/healthy-drinks/low-sugar-veggie-smoothie-recipes-energy

Feeling a bit bad about what I ate
AJ Tylo replied to Isabelmonster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its life one little candy bar is not going to kill you! You must enjoy something sometime! But that does not mean eat the whole dang bag! I hit the little Halloween candy two or three times a week, But in the past i would hit the 4 pound bag of M and M s - That was the issue not the 5 little ones a few times a week. You have to learn to balance and enjoy life, So my feeling is you have sinned and I will bless you and forgive your sins! any other confessions you would like to tell us!
