Mine only rumbles after I eat (well, drink because I don't move to soft foods until tomorrow). For someone who said they could hang with this lifestyle, she sure does have a lot of comments. Maybe I should come up with a name too. 🤔 To answer your post, I'm not sure when it stops rumbling. I did a quick google search and it said that this is typical and that sometimes antacids can calm it down, but I would definitely talk to your doctor before you consider taking anything. Actual doctor degree > My Google credentials 😅

I'm 12 days post-op and it does get easier. I agree to try experimenting with hot vs. cold. For me, I found I did better with cold liquids. Now, at 12 days, I can do both cold and warm.

I agree with the others to double-check with your provider. I'm 12 days out and still in the liquids phase and drink more than 1 protein shake a day. My doc recommends getting 2oz of protein every hour I'm awake and then spend the rest of the hour drinking water/crystal light/etc.

I also had surgery on 3/10/20 and can relate to missing being able to chew foods. So far what's been helping are popsicles. Right now, they're the firmest thing we are allowed post-op and I'm getting a lot of satisfaction being able to bite into them. I agree with Hop_Scotch about not advancing to the next stage until they give us the go ahead. I don't know about you but I'm still very sore and sensitive and while I crave being able to chew on something, we would be doing more damage to ourselves if we try to speed up the process. They should have given you some sort of paperwork or something that tells you when you can move to the puree stage. For me its after 2 weeks so on March 24.

ReinaMar replied to DesperateEC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 days post-op as well and the bowel obstruction is no joke. Glad you went in and hope you feel better.
