    Two fills and no restriction

I have heard it can take up to 10 fills for some people to have good restriction. Dont give up. everyone is different. some people dont need a single fill while others need 10. Its all individual. good luck and dont give up. you will hit that magic spot!!

Brandy~ You have a 4cc band?? I have never heard of a 4cc band. Ive only heard of a 10cc and a 14cc. WOW. mine is a 14cc. does that just mean it can hold more? I dont get it.?
  5. I have heard that you can be tighter in the morning when you get up. Try drinking some warm tea or coffee. Ask the dr what it could be. good luck.

Hello All, Just checking In :O)

    Thank You!!!
  8. I second that motion. Be patient, eat a low carb, high protein diet, walk everyday and drink lots of water. Im right there with ya. I was banded on October 23rd and just had my first fill. I can tell a slight difference and i get stuck on food if i eat too fast ..especially bread. Hang in there ...your tool will work for you. Stick to the rules and be patient with yourself. Best of luck!!
  9. my dr said nothing about fasting before but i could only have liquids 24 hours after.
  10. omg!!! how can we prevent something like this from happening? I woner what the symptoms are and how we can help keep from getting an infection like this?? Im going to take the article to my primary dr and ask what i can watch for. Thank you for sharing...we should all be informed and aware of stuff like this. SCARY!!!
  11. im the same age as you and i just got my first fill. I was banded on october 23rd and i too cant tell much of a difference. They scheduled my next fill for six weeks out. Im wondering if i can get my next one sooner if i want to or if thats whats required by my dr. Im going to call them next week and find out. good luck :tongue2:

    popcorn!

If i eat popcorn i eat one kernel at a time and i only eat a couple handfuls. Try to stick with the light or air popped. good luck
  13. Im a bit suprised you have o wait 5 more weeks for your first fill?? I got my first fill at 6 weeks. and from here on out i get one every 6 weeks until im satisfied. Every dr is different though. Alot of people say you dont get really good restriction until around your thrd fill. I just got my first one and i can barely tell the difference but it is some. Be patient and hang in there. Dont eat carbs..they will make you hungrier!! High protein, low carb diet and stop as soon as you arent hungry. Good luck.
  14. My surgery was on Octobe 23rd. I had bad shoulder pain for 2.5 weeks..it was awful. It slowly went away and i no longer have it. Id tell your doctor about it and see what he says. Sounds like you may still have some air trapped in there. Try walking alot and drink lots of fluids. Another thing that helped me with the pain was heat pads. Id use the bags you can put in the microwave for a few min. That eased the pain. good luck. :tongue2:
  15. I wonder if its just your tummy adjusting to the change. I know for me...my stomach couldnt tolerate the sugar free stuff. It gave me stomach cramps and diareah. :tongue2: good luck and i hope it gets better.

    Able to eat to much!!

Dont worry...from what ive been reading we wont get good restriction until about the 2-3rd fill. everyone is different but thats what ive been reading. I just got my first fill and i can tell a slight difference. Im still able to eat a good amount but not what i used to eat. Just make sure you stop eating as soon as you are not hungry anymore. Do not overeat. Stay away from carbs and make sure you are getting in your 70 grams of protein. This will help with hunger. good luck. :tongue2:

    3 months since lap-band

oh my gosh thank you that is helpful info. I just got my first fill yesturday. I can tell a difference but it is slight. I want to look into that Injury...sounds like quite a few people use it and like it. is it expensive? and where do you get it?
  20. wow thank you for the info!! Good to know.. yeah its hard to get that 70 grams of protein a day for sure.
  21. dont give up ice cream altogether, but have the light ice cream and only have a half a cup. That way you still have a nice treat. :cursing:
  22. Thank you for sharing your story! You look great! Im going for my first fill today. Hoping it will give me a little more restriction. HEy was it hard to do the u-tube story thing? I was thinking of doing one myself once i reach my goal.
  23. lowel1956 thank you so much for the info. If you dont mind im gonna put your e-mal address in my address book so i can ask you questions. I was banded on October 23rd 08, and i go for my first fill tomorrow...so you are ahead of me. Its nice to have people to talk to when you are having difficulty in certain areas...or bumps in the road. THank you.

    Hiccups!!

my stomache feels tender at times where the band is around it.? but i dont think it has to do with hiccups? Hmm might be a good question for my dr. I go tomorrow for my first fill.
