Absorption of Antidepressants?
mcfluffington replied to PepperCat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have severe clinical depression and had a gastric bypass. You can no longer take extended release meds after gastric bypass. I take bupropion and Zoloft twice a day. I found a good mix of meds long before surgery and have been pretty consistent though I am sure I have raised the levels at times. Definitely discuss this with your surgeon and psychiatrist. I hope this helps. I know how scary med changes can be. -

mcfluffington replied to Snapcase-'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Fitting in airplane seats is awesome. I remember the first time I wasn't squished against the person next to me or didn't need a seat belt extender. But that was a thrill. You look great! Keep up the good work. -

Terrified I Won’t Lose Weight
mcfluffington replied to Little Debbie 77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
"I know how to pack a crap ton of deeply nutritious food into 600-800 calories per day. " That is a super power fluffy chix. I imagine you might actually like vegetables...? -
That snub would definitely hurt anyone. But to get in her good graces you might have to apologize for bringing it up. Have you talked to the brother-in-law who is such a good mediator into mediating between you and her? Don't be mad at your husband he is just keeping the peace at least for himself. He might not think its a good idea to get her mad at him as well. As for the stress eating, I don't know what to tell you. I wouldn't be good at handling that either.

Post RNY activity restrictions?
mcfluffington replied to Libby63's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You will be up and around pretty soon after your surgery. They get you out of bed quite soon.. You'll probably have some lifting restrictions for a short time. I can't remember any restrictions on driving. There might be an issue about stairs depending on your initial weight. -
How exciting! Congratulations.

I use splenda. It has the best taste as far as I am concerned. -
Help!! I'm failing & I can't get up.
mcfluffington replied to Marie1987's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, I so feel for you. The best suggestion I have for you is volunteer somewhere till you have a new job. Hopefully that would take your mind off of your problem and take you away from temptation. I have a lot of food issues and when I get into a panic about them I eat more. I find that getting some control that is not too strict helps me. the minute I feel I am in deprivation mode I start too binge. -
How much We is one expected to lose right after surgery
mcfluffington replied to eleanor wagner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a female and RNY. I weighed around 350 and lost eight lbs a month for 14 months and plateaued at 200. From what I understand mine was a pretty slow weight loss. But if your weightloss is slow, you are less likely to have gall bladder problems. -
