There was a post sometime ago by LGBTQ person looking for friends. Try the search bar. Maybe you'll find something. Then you post in their thread and they will get a notice in their email. Good luck! -

Started Soft Food Stage - don't feel after a meal
mcfluffington replied to Loriey's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
I don't know if it is dumping syndrome. But I felt the same way about a 1/2 hour after eating. Extremely tired. I would lie down for a 1/2 hour and it would go away. -
Doh! I am having trouble getting rid of this quote section. but I just wanted to say that there is a revision forum and it should have a lot of good posts for you, if you care to scan it.

Incision pain is not a big issue for most people. But gas pain bothers a lot of folks. I had two weight loss surgeries and the first one I breezed through. The second one was excruciating when I moved. It lasted a month. My doctor had no idea what it was. But he was a newbie at this particular operation. I know, what a dummy I am. But I felt desperate to have the second weight loss surgery. Hey it resolved my diarrhea that I had from the first operation so there is a silver-lining. I feel confident you will breeze through this. (fingers crossed) The incisions are very small and they disappear completely over time. I can not even see my first incisions anymore and I am eight years out from the first operation.

Anyone know of a forum for those whose surgery did not help them?
mcfluffington replied to ab123.'s topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
A lot of people on this forum have trouble with regain and head hunger. Yours truly does. I suggest you dig around you may find some posts that help you. I have an eating disorder. I have lost and gained weight numerous times. I found that welbutrin (an antidepressant) helped me with a lot of my compulsions. I got down to 200 lbs.from 350 after rny but regained after moving in with my mom who had food in her house. Part of my way of dealing with my eating disorder was to not have food in the house. So I gained back 70 lbs. Then when I moved out I lost about 30 lbs. Just going back to not living with food. I have plateaued at 240. And am trying optifast. So we will see how that goes. One suggestion I have is to continue to plan your meals. Just to keep from obsessing about food. Good luck! And for weight loss you may try to up your calories if they are still low. Then after awhile go back to dieting. I have heard that that tricks your metabolism into returning to weight loss mode. -
Is this all normal? Feeling so worried.
mcfluffington replied to kaRmakat's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The gas issue doesn't effect everyone. I had very little trouble with gas. But if you are really worried call your surgeon and double check. But its probably just gas. It often lands in the shoulders. -
GERD before surgery advice
mcfluffington replied to AchieveGoals's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I heard that a lot of people get the bypass to help with GERD. When I had the bypass I had no trouble with GERD. Now that I have gastric sleeve I have a problem with it. though it is mostly taken care of with Nexium or Prilosec. -
Stairs after surgery
mcfluffington replied to Space.Crab's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I lived on a third floor walkup and had no trouble with stairs. But I stayed in the hospital about a week. They kept us longer in 2012 -
Gas or heartburn?
mcfluffington replied to avillemure93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are probably eating too much or too fast and burping is telling you to stop. I sneeze when I have gone to far. -

Whats the backlog for surgery after Covid 19
mcfluffington replied to DwGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is probably something only your doctor or insurance company can tell you. -
I began to hate protein smoothies and found a juice-like mango flavored drink by Premier Protein. They have other flavors if you don't like mango.

Going under is the least of your worries. One minute you are getting an IV and the next minute you are awake in recovery. It is so easy that one time I was put under for a colonoscopy and months later I was asking my doctor when I was going to have my colonoscopy. I had totally forgotten I had had the procedure!! LOL

Exercise for loose skin
mcfluffington replied to Lynda486's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just Wow!! That is a rotten thing to say to you after all your hard work. I have read on the forums that sometimes skin snaps back somewhat but that can take up to a year. Exercise is a good idea regardless of whether it has the desired effect. See how things stand in a years time and keep up the good work. You have done a stellar job. -
ANY CURRENT BALLOONERS???
mcfluffington replied to Mimi8808's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The acid reflux sounds terrible! What does your doctor say? Are you taking Prilosec or Nexium it?
