    I’m riding the struggle bus.

You don’t have to eat typical breakfast foods. Can eat leftover dinner. Or lox- salmon. You can put on cauliflower wraps if you don’t want to eat it alone. Do you like cottage cheese? Can be mixed with sugar free jams. I put “Everything” seasoning in it. Make version of avocado toast again using cauliflower wrap. Don’t limit yourself to just breakfast foods. Switch it around. Good luck!
  2. In the beginning Burping was my sign telling me I was getting full & then some. I’m. 11 months out now & it’s greatly reduced but do still burp now & then.
  3. Bought chocolate hummus to have with strawberries. Will see how they are!
  4. I also wanted to try it. How much protein & how much sugar?
  5. Just ordered these from Amazon too. Had $10 coupon from FB feed from company as it’s not cheap. But totally worth it. I got assorted pack.
  6. I enhanced this cauliflower crusted pizza I bought @ Costco. Added protein of grilled chicken sausage (can add anything I.e. shrimp), part skim ricotta, reduced fat mozzarella as well as more marinara, sun dried tomatoes & mushrooms. Cooked by air frying which made crust nice & crusty. Totally satisfied any pizza cravings I might have had. No pizza, pasta, limited carbs in 10.5 lbs. Down 120 lbs. 20 more to go!
  7. From the very beginning I knew I was going to follow plan as closely as possible during losing stage. My surgeon said window to maximize your loss is 12 months possibly 18. After that much harder. I’m 9 months out with about 20-25 lbs to my personal goal. I love chocolate too. I like Atkins protein bars. But realized having some chocolate every night is too much for me. So started to reduce to every other nite then every 3 nights. Better & looked forward to that night. Would it help to reduce from every night but still have? I think totally denying yourself as this is for rest of your life can do more harm.
  8. Ah the dreaded prednisone. I have severe asthma. Until we could find drug protocol to calm my asthma I was on prednisone for better part of 3 years. It’s what got me in this predicament to finally explore weight loss surgery. But did finally get off of it. However cause I was on it for so long I needed more time to withdraw from it than I did. Quite a few side affects. All good now. In January 3 months after my sleeve surgery diagnosed with bronchitis (or Covid-waiting for antibody test results) which produced bad asthma attack. I did shots of steroids shots immediately & nebulizer with steroids but still eventually was hospitalized. I was given steroids intravenously. I stayed on point with program but didn’t lose for about 2 months. My dr did prescribe phentermine to kick start my metabolism. It slowly started working & have been on track losing ever since. I would definitely check with Dr if you can go on it after pneumonia clears up. it helped me fir sure. I lost another 25 lbs during isolation then stalled for 3 weeks. I did 5 day reset & that kicked it up again. Reason for this long explanation- if I could undo prednisone’s detriment to my weight loss journey you can too! Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Before and After Pics

You’re the one I look for posts from. When I see how great you’ve done & maintained that’s so important for others to see. So thanks for posting. I’m 9 months out. HW 285 SW 245 CW 169 GW 145 I know maintaining is the hardest part & honestly little nervous about it.
  10. Try not to concentrate on what you can’t have. When you get to stage when you can eat all foods on program there are plenty to substitute with to satisfy cravings. I love pizza. But it wasn’t til 8 months out that I ate cauliflower pizza. I did buy store brand from Costco- Miltons with roasted veggies. I added chicken sausage, part skim ricotta & RF mozzarella. Cooked in air fryer so crust was just crispy enough. Delicious. Yesterday I made lobster pizza from langostino also from Costco. I certainly do not feel deprived. But I’m really focused so I don’t fight with myself too much.
  11. Breakstone has single serve cottage cheese. Laughing cow cheese
  12. I’m 8+ months post op. HW 285 SW 245 CW 173. Total lost 115 lbs. Want to lose 30 more. I’ve never measured. I do eyeball & count in head. Doesn’t work for all. I have strong aversion to writing down, journaling & exact counting. Negatively reminds me of my up-down history with WW. It’s worked so far. Also took me good 4 months to get into exercising. Joined gym just before self isolation so it’s been on hold. But took advantage of isolation period. Broke out my old hand weights, leg/arm bicycle & bought Pilates ring. It has become part of my schedule during this period & will continue to do so. Results I’m seeing keeps me motivated. Not only some “bumps” that I’ll call muscles! But tightening of legs & arms to help with some saggy skin. And energy level through the roof. Hope this helps but I didn’t start to exercise until I was good ready!

  14. Always just double check with surgeon. There are lots of different experiences for each individual. I have only gotten sick once in my 2nd month. I’m 8 months out & have never gotten sick since. My brother is almost 20 YEARS out & still gets sick. We’re not carbon copies of each other. Just stick with program.

    HELP

You are jeopardizing your health big time! MUST take your vitamins, eat your proteins & drink your water. You don’t seem to understand program. Especially if you are questioning that your loss of 89 lbs in that short period of time is slow! I hope your surgeon addresses these issues with you. Please take this seriously. Your health is most important.
  17. I had pain meds 1st night. But gave me migraines. So went without as migraines were worse than pain. Not to say I didn’t have pain but just dealt with it. It’s only very small part of our journey. Any pain is now in rear view mirror 8 months later & worth it!
  18. Congratulations! No one would understand the excitement except us Bariatric family! I’m getting closer too!

Very interesting information from article. Thanks. I’m only 7 moths out but I’ve always been a cheese eater. I remember old WW saying that cheese is rich person’s candy! I include cheese in my daily diet but mindful of how much & if it’s reduced fat. I’m always interested in any issues of those that are year+ out. would like to know if any of the points in article pertain to you. please keep us posted on your success of losing the little bit you gained. I like following someone that has more experience than me with similar issues I.e. love cheese! Thanks for feedback

  22. I’m only 7 months out but happy with my progress. I’m eagerly looking for others suggestions to you that have more experience. Your situation is something I think many of us are always concerned about- Maintaining our weight loss. You certainly sound like you’re doing right things. My brother has maintained his 160 lb weight loss for 18 years. He has had periods of struggles & has said he’s been up as much as 15 lbs. He then is super careful & goes back to early basics & does go back down.
  23. I agree. This is perfect time to really concentrate on yourself. I live in So FL where weather has been much warmer than usual for March/April. Most days I’m exercising outside by pool or in pool. I tell all by the time I’m out of isolation I’ll almost be @ goal & Ill be nice & tan! Only problem is the few bit of clothing I bought for Spring may be too big & never get chance to wear them! That should be my biggest problem. Also- I like you’re attitude!
  24. You look great! Congratulations! Can I ask how tall you are? My surgeon said my goal may be 165. I think 145. I’m 5’3”. 66 yrs. Sleeve 9/23/19. HW 285 SW 245 CW 180. When I see someone look great like you always want to put it in prospective.
  25. I hear where you’re at. I’m 7 months out. However I’ve lost 60 lbs. From my HW though it’s 100. So you’ve done great. I have slowed too & im taking phentermine. Each day is different. Some days not hungry at all. Next day have to control my night time hunger. I’m a dairy eater too but do think cheese fir all your meals is a lot. I rarely have carbs. Occasionally crackers lately & think that may contribute to this week’s stall. I would avoid for week & see if has affect. Definitely eliminate 1 shake. You need solid food. I do have shake every other day especially if protein count is low that day. Also I’m still working on breaking habit of weighing too frequently. Trying to concentrate on inches & clothes getting big. Think with some of these adjustments you will continue to do great!
