Me too!! So many here who've been before us will say that everything will be fine! It'snatural to be anxious or worried, But I know I am trying to keep on top of it, helps I have a work mate who had sleeve in Sept with the same surgeon as me, she's keeping me upbeat about it all It's a low complication surgery most of the time. I have had surgery before, so trying to focus on the positive!! Have you had surgery before? -

How is everyone going who's on Pre Op? I am a week out from surgery (16th) as of today, ๐ฌ have lost 3.2kg (7 pounds) since starting pre op on the 1st Jan, 5kg (11 ponds) since first consult in Sept. I am nervous it's getting close now, and I have to travel for work next week, can only have shakes and veggies next week it is going to be tricky getting healthy veg when not at home! -

Are you able to modify it, have a shake for breakfast? I am not a breakfast person either, except on weekends if I can have a late brunch ๐ .. so that has been a challenge for me too, I find now I sip my shakes with coffee in them, at work basically takes me hours! Have you discussed the arthritis with your team? any way you can exercise without extra pressure on your ankle? swimming? There are several seated exercise gurus on social media, such as Justin Augustin, who have programs for people not able to do traditional exercise routines. -

So a quick lean curry tonight veggies, chicken and konjac 'rice' - used my healthy fats ration to add a tablespoon (for 3 portions) of almond butter to thicken and make it creamy. It's not bad! -

It's so hard when you have to make food for the family!! But you got this!! ๐ I am fortunate that my night meal can be reasonably normal, for now, the last 4 days before surgery is no meat, shakes and veggies only. -

Mine is 2 meal replacement shakes/soup/bars unlimited low carb veggies, 100-150gm protein and 1 fat serve per day, under 1000 cals. Yours looks pretty manageable, how are you coping? -

Day two, not loving the shakes for lunch and breakfast, currently using the "glow" shakes by Collegen co here in Australia they are not too sweet, but not like a whey based one, not really creamy, a bit sort of slimy.. but so far I am coping ok, at least I get to have a good low carb meal at night, tonight a chicken and vegetable stir fry, with cauliflower rice, it was gooood too. We got this January buddies!! -

The New Year is Approaching!
DaisyChainOz replied to AmberFL's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
2024 was a very tough year for me and my family. Both my mother and husband Dx with Cancer. My poor darling Mum old lasted 21 days from Dx. I haven't really had a chance to deal with it, have been drinking a lot! Christmas hit hard. Fortunately Hubby is doing well, but Chemo has knocked him around, poor fellow. Last round this week, so fingers crossed it all goes well and he gets the all clear!! 2025 goals: Successfully get through PreOp (starts 1st tomorrow๐ฌ), Op (16th Jan) and Post without issue!! Finally lose the weight I have been carrying most of my adult life! Spend less money! Find some exercise I enjoy and do it regularly. Be more grateful and appreciative of all the good/great things I have in my life. Happy New Year everyone!!! -

Only natural, but we will all be fine. ๐like many things in life, Thinking/stressing/worrying about it is much worse than the actual doing of it. I feel moments of concern, but trying to focus on the positives and how great being in control is going to be! -
Cancer Post Surgery.
DaisyChainOz replied to ShoppGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow, you are going through so much right now! I greatly admire your openess and your strength to be handling all of this with grace and good humour. My husband is also going through Chemo, Immunity shots, weekly blood tests, scans etc and it's been a very hard road since his diagnosis and surgery in March. I mention this just to let you know, that I know how hard it's been on him, but he didn't have the Bariatric surgery to deal with as well!! You're doing great, I wish you all the very best on this journey! ๐ค -
Stunning I love it! And yes, also very guilty of saving clothes, then never wearing them! I will have a bunch of unworn beauties to give to charity soon!!
